Christmas Double Day

Hi crafters!  Another couple of cards for you today, hopefully though you won't be needing them for inspiration at this late date! LOL  First up is a pretty silver and white card.  I started by cutting a piece of coconut white card on the diagonal.  I embossed the upper portion with the Poinsettia Trellis folder.  I added mounting foam to both pieces and attached them to another larger piece of white card with a gap between them.  In the gap, I cut the Poinsettia Checkerboard die and extended it so it was about twice the length.  I backed it with a piece of silver card then glued it into the open section, trimming the ends even with the edge of the card.  For the upper focal element, I cut the Scalloped Snowflake  in all of it's sections and backed them in silver and stacked them up.  I added a Holly Swirl across it in both directions as an accent.  The Let it snow was cut in silver card and stacked for dimension then I used spray glue and glittered it with Silver Chrome polished silk glitter for a bit of bling and glued it to the lower portion of the card.  Silver and white mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are
7 1/4" x  9 1/2" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

For this second card, I started with the Twinkle Star Frames and cut it in coconut white card.  I used both the inside and outer decorative cutting dies, then I embossed the stitched cutting edge design into the centre.  I backed the entire frame with vellum  for a soft translucent look.  Next I cut three of the Pine Cones out of kraft card.  I added white gel pen and Iced Snow to each of the sections and lifted them slightly.  I cut the greenery from the set in several shades of green (from my stash) and added it around the pine cones in opposite corners.  I cut the Merry Little Christmas die several times out of antique gold card, then cut one more out of black card to use as a shadow.  I seated the sentiment on a circle cut from the Reindeer Snow globe Scene and mounted it in the centre of the card.  White and Antique Gold mats and layers were used to finish the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x
8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

I so look forward to two-ferFridays, twice the pleasure and joy. Both gorgeous, think no 2 as I love the pine cones.
June, you deserve all of your accolades yesterday, you promote crafting so well.
Elaine, hope the scan results are good for you.
Barbara, my heart goes out to you, it is so difficult to cope when the world sees a different face to what you see. You will survive as you say, you sound a strong person and I too like Saba wish I could help. Please know that you have support here if it helps you.
Sharon, enjoy your holiday but don't overdo it, don't want you I'll again, lovely lady.
To all the lucky grandmas, I envy you going to the children's concerts, I loved. It when mine were smaller. Sarah, Bailey and all of the other children must have been so proud.
SandyH, scary time for your hubby, glad he us on the mend.
I had a wonderful team lunch yesterday, good food, good company and lots of laughter. We had a secret Santa sack and I got a lovely present, I'm so thrilled with it. Didn't like the drive back in the dark and rush hour traffic all 18 miles home, now I know why I like to start and end my day early but the snow had gone so wasn't slippy.
Sam you put me to shame, already well on the way to next years Christmas cards, I'm on Sandys naughty step still.
Overflowing basket if hugs is out, help yourself, sending some to poorly and missing friends.

Good morning Sue. Love double Christmas Fridays! Two beautiful cards, both special in their own way but my favourite today is the first one. I love your channel cards but this one in white and silver is just so elegant.
Barbara, you are a strong lady and will survive; like others I wish I was nearer to help in person.
Pam, glad you enjoyed your lunch. Know what you mean about driving home in the dark though. I often finish work at 11pm, and the other night I not only had to de-ice the outside of the car but the inside too before I could set off! Hugs to all. Sue xxx

Morning Sue. Both samples are just stunning, I can't decided between them as both are my kind of style, how I wish I'd invested in so many of this year's release I could kick myself, I'm still working with some of last year's festive collection I managed to buy but missed out on so many all rounders this year what a fool I am and what a lesson learnt.
Barbara I could say I felt your fear and pain but unless you've been in your world, I wouldn't insult you as I couldn't begin to imagin what you must be going through but what a positive outlook. You will empower yourself to run and keep on running to safety I'm sure.
It's so cold but I send warm hugs and lots of love xxx

Morning Sue,

I love both of your creations today, but the second one just has something that little bit extra.

I was up late finishing a wedding card order for some lucky couple getting married this weekend. I’ve made a shaker card with your heart shaped treat cups. I can’t wait to see the lady who ordered its face. But then the credit goes to you Sue with your wonderful die designs.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh wow Sue these Friday double days really are amazing and you have really put the cat among the pigeons today with these two samples, how can I choose a favourite from such beautiful, yes truly beautiful cards, shall I toss a coin........no I am just going to go for it........No 1 just edges it for me with No2 neck and neck in the race. ha ha...... I love them and can easily make both of them because I have all the beautiful dies and embossing folders you have used. Thank you for the inspiration.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above, and so pleased you enjoy your team lunch, you deserve to enjoy yourself after the year you have had.

I have made an early new years resolution and that is to make at least 1 Christmas card per week and put the inserts in them, that way I will not have this rush at the end. I have loads of cards to choose from this year but it is deciding which one to give people. There has been so much inspiration on this blog and social media that in theory it should be easy to achieve.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Dear Sue and Dearie Pies,

The first one gets my vote. I just love the checkerboard. And the silver and white. I like the twinkle frame, too, and in fact I'm making this year's cards with it.

So slowly that I've landed on Sandy's crowded step too.

Barbara, my heart goes out to you. If he has stopped tending the bond between you, then you're right, he is a stranger now. He is supposed to be your protector, but you are also right that now you have to protect yourself from him. I kicked and screamed the whole time God was dragging me away from a bad situation. Now I'm grateful it happened. You might fill a 10-foot shelf with gallon jars full of tears, but you won't drown in them. Your resilience and determination will prevail.

It's almost the weekend!

Love,
Donita

Hello Sue,
I love your two for one days, usually I have a favourite but today I can't choose between them, they are both equally gorgeous. The poinsettia checkerboard die the twinkle star frames and the pine cones are in my possession and I love them all. . I half wish I hadn't finished my Christmas cards and could use both these designs. Actually, truth told, I've still got a few to do but haven't time to change my design, I'm on last push up. As ever!!

Pam you can come off the naughty step, it's getting a tad crowded.
Elaine, try not to worry, easier said than done I know but sometimes they just don't have time to interpret the scans there and then. Fingers crossed all will be well.

I love both of today’s cards but the second is my favourite! I have the pine cones and I haven’t used them to anything like their full potential.
I think making a Christmas card per week is an excellent idea! Then someone mentioned a Sue Wilson Christmas Die Launch! Yes - definitely food for thought - but I’d still be able to make cards with the new ones too!
Barbara - take care my dear! I don’t want you to be hurt any more than you already are! Please ignore Saba’s Top tip - we need you free!
Well it’s been a busy week and I’m jiggered!
As Saba said above me - Laine we miss you and are very concerned about you! Sending lots of love.

include them more. Like many of you I dream of having a stack ready for next Christmas. Saying that every year and I'm late again, at least the once
going abroad have been sent.
With a heavy heart I heard about Tracy, my thought are with her family
and Graeme at this sad time.
Sending warm hugs to all,to my friends and extras for anyone who need some

Wow. Both are great. I love the scalloped snowflake die. I have enjoyed it making my Christmas cards this year. I also love the second card. Very close but I will go with number one.
I mailed my last cards today...well maybe a couple of last minute ones but they are made and ready so Whoopee! I have to clear my dining room table and have it ready for meals over the holiday. My husband & I eat in the kitchen normally so I can spread out in the dining room. My Gemini sits at the head of the table now, ha!
Elaine, maybe there are good changes to discuss or just a busy time. Try not to worry.
Pam, sounds like yesterday's festivities were perfect even a good gift to go with the meal.
I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. The last before the big weekend,

Two beautiful cards. I could spend all day just looking at them but that won't get me off the naughty step.

Pam, Elaine, Frances, Lynne, Crewe Trish and anyone I've missed, thank you for the kind comments for my DH.
Barbara, you are in my thoughts.
Take care everyone.

Hi Sue, two gorgeous cards, hard to choose a favourite but I think the first one probably shades it for me.

Good morning Sue and all her followers. I wont even try to choose between the 2 gorgeous cards. There are now so many dies I haven't got and I would be in the poor house if I bought them all.
I too have decided to start next year's cards in January ( But I think I said that last year too). My house move, now 4 weeks ago, has really put me back and at this late stage I still have a few to make.
Healing thoughts to all who nee them and hugs to all.

Hi Sue,
thank God I don't have to choose between these cards because they are both equally beautiful in their different ways. And whilst I've still not finished, what I need is TIME...
Having said that, inspiration is always good, one can always adapt to any occasion.
Hugs, Rose
