So often during this presidential campaign I have heard people say "I guess I will just have to vote for the lesser of two evils" intimating that they don't have a choice but to choose a candidate that leaves a bad taste in their mouth. By choosing the lesser of two evils you are still choosing evil. You do have choices, many choices and all of them are not evil. You may not agree with everything a candidate says but there are some out there that can be counted on to have this country in mind, rather than their own self-interests. When do we, as a people, say "Enough is enough, I will not stand for what is currently happening and I will make my stand according to what I believe in"? Much like Captain Moroni, what would be enscribed on our personal Title of Liberty? Don't tell me that a Democrat's vote is wasted in Utah or a Republican's vote is not of any worth in California, every vote counts. Especially to God. One day he will ask you why you voted the way you did and if you voted for the lesser of two evils, you have still voted for evil and you will need to make sure that you are able to justify this before Him.
I found a short video clip that has some talks by Hyrum Smith, J. Rueben Clark, and Ezra Taft Benson on voting for principles over politics. I hope that you will take a few minutes to watch the video and think about who you are voting for. The clip will imply that Rep. Ron Paul is the person you should vote for (Rep. Paul has endorsed Chuck Baldwin from the Constitution Party) but you should make that decision for yourself. Why not give yourself to prayer and fasting as you would other weighty matters. Your vote does count and what a privilege it is to be able to vote!
