Happy Friday everyone!

Whew! I am back and slowly getting caught up with things. We had a layover in Atlanta which added a day on to our trip. I can't complain because it was God's will and we are home safe and sound from New Orleans. It's always a fun time when we go and listen to fabulous music and eat unbelievable food. We definitely got our fill of craw fish, pralines, and gumbo while there. I don't fix a lot of seafood in my house because of the smell and my DD does NOT like it at all. She is super sensitive to smells and noises, I believe it stems from Asperger's. Poor Simon and Christopher don't eat nearly as much seafood, but I do try and cook it occasionally.
So the first thing I did when I came back was hug my DD and asked her how her week had gone. It seemed like forever since I had seen her! 5 1/2 days is a long time. She wanted to compare our heights because she is right on the verge of the whooping 5'2 that I am. I love it! I hope she is taller than me!
Yesterday I squeezed in some crafting time between dinner and a bike ride with DD. I used Card Patterns sketch #61. I am heading back after this post to leave some love for the DT because they really did a phenomenal job with this sketch! Plus there are tons of talented card makers that submitted their idea as well!

I made a Mother's day card since it is quickly approaching. I am not sure it's my Mom's style though. She's very shabby chic and loves yellow and blue. Although, she is always complimentary of anything I make for her. ♥ Mom!

The pattern paper is Webster's Pages which I adore so, brown cardstock is Creatively-Green, 7 Gypsies stamp, Kaiser Craft pearls, EK Sucess scallop/embossed border punch, yellow and the floral flocked adhesive ribbon is
I stamped the "Mom" with Staz-On to the tiny Making Memories epoxy tag and tied with floss to a pearl stick pin and a little sheer bow beneath the Prima flower.

The picture looks really dark but the cardstock is a light pink and I distressed with Sepia ink. I am thinking I can't put off getting a new camera any longer. Maybe a Mother's Day gift for myself?

It's officially Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day everyone! Today Creatively-Green has a gigantic post with lots of inspiring ideas for you to repurpose or recycle common household items. So don't trash it, treasure it.
**** Plus there is a give a way of some new released lines!****
Here's a gift bag that I used some repurposed/recycled items on. The tulle came from flowers I received, the purple ribbon was from a gift a friend sent me, and the floral scrap stash flower is from Creatively-Green.

I wanted to share with you how cute this floral flower is:
I added a piece of Scenic Route pattern paper and spelled "enjoy" with some purple Thickers. Attached the flower and tied the tulle and ribbon to embellish.

Also Creatively-Green has a guest design team call. Check out the details here. Thanks for stopping by!

Because You're Sweet

Hey there! I hope you are having a great Tuesday! It's sunny here so can't complain. :-) Thursday is Earth Day and I wanted to share a upcycled or repurposed item I made with you in honor of the celebration.
I know it's not a card, but I used Laura's sketch from 2S4y this week which I turned horizontally.

I recycled a granola box and covered it with gorgeous Webster's Pages papers. The Nature's Story line is beautiful with butterflies, birds, and fruits. Then I added a scallop border along with lace trim, a navy blue Bazzill bracket I hand cut and distressed with ink, a big satin bow and added the floral/bead pieces to embellish.

Well that's it for me this week. I will be back next week with something new to share and maybe a little bit of a tan after being outside for Jazz Fest this weekend. Take care!

100% All Boy

Happy Monday to you! I am super excited because in three days I am leaving for New Orleans Jazz Fest! I can't wait to be sitting in my chair listening to incredible music and chatting with friends! Not to mention eating the best food! Crawfish Monica, seafood tacos, crawfish strudel, oh yum!
But on to my card that is based on Card Patterns sketch #60.

I used a new Cutting Cafe file All About Boys. It has 55 images of some really cute boy stuff!
I used scraps of paper - I think it is Creative Imaginations? I hand cut a star to mimic the stars on the paper from Bazzill cardstock and punched a red circle to mat my sentiment on. The fiber is navy blue yarn a friend sent me which I attached a button to with floss. Lastly, I added a few rhinestones. I hope that's okay for a boy? I rarely make boy cards. I have two nephews and their birthdays are coming up so I thought I would use this one and create another to give them for their special days. Really not sure about the boy thing? I knew it would not be good to add flowers and big bow so opted for the yarn and button. LOL! Okay off to work I go. Thanks for stopping by!

More Cutting Cafe fun!

Happy Sunday to all!
This is a card I made with a digital stamp using Long Sentiment Tags from The Cutting Cafe. There are two different sizes for this set. The largest is 3.5 x 8 inches and the smallest, which I used for this card is 1 x 3.5 inches. There are 8 different greetings: Happy, Congrats, Let's Do, etc.
*These would be cute in a match book to tear off and leave as little notes for those you love!*
I hand stitched around the left part of the tag with red floss to make it a little more prominent. I thought stitching the entire tag might be a bit much. In addition to the stitching, I used K & Co. papers, a new EK scallop border punch which I love, Queen & Co. rhinestones, recycled gold elastic trim, and a square of Bazzill yellow cardstock.

Challenges for this card:
Sweet Stampin: Stitching
Allsorts: Stitching
Scrappy Frogs: Pick 3: no coloring, digi image, and recycled item ( gold trim from a gift)
ABC: Sparkle
Penny's: Anything goes
Wishing you a fabulous day!

Make a Wish

Hey all! It's a late night post for me so going to make this short. Here's my card for this week's Card Patterns sketch #59 using Bella paper with lots of candles. Stamp, Scrap, & Doodle's Saturday challenge is to make a birthday card. The cupcake image is from Inkadinkado and the sentiment was trimmed because it included a candle image with it. I used some Stickles on the pink frosting and an orange sequin for the candle flame.

Thanks for stopping by!

Flowers bloom

Hey there everyone! I hope you are having a terrific Tuesday! I am back today with a Spring card. I used the Little Red Wagon's sketch 23 and Our Creative Corner's challenge: bows.

Happy Earth Day!

In just a few weeks it will be Earth Day! To celebrate I have created two cards using The Cutting Cafe Earth Day Printable stamp set. This is a new set created by Regina that has 20 images.

She also created three new background sets to coordinate with the set above.

For my first card, I used Unscripted Sketches #50 sketch:

I used Creatively-Green's 100% recycled cardstock in Cafe' au lait and Olive Martini. Everything is on sale at the store currently so click on the link to get great prices on cardstock, embellishments, ribbon, and more!

On this card, I took The Pink Elephant's challenge-nature by making a tree trunk from felt stickers, a tree top from a scallop punch, and then added a little felt bird sticker.

Again, I used Creatively-Green's 100% recycled cardstock in Ember and Yukon Gold.

Thanks for stopping by!

Last day of Spring Break and Dad you're the best!

Now that the Easter holiday and Spring Break are officially over, it's time to get back into the routine. I kept thinking I would have more time to create over the break but it was not be. But I am glad I had some downtime to just relax! Everyone needs that once in a while.
My card for today is based on Laura's #49 sketch this week. I had to have this adorable hippo digi image by Jane Beljo when I saw it. She is sponsoring 2S4Y this week so be sure to see her images in use by the DT and visit her store at Squigglefly. It's just the cutest! I made this card for Father's Day so I kept it pretty simple.

I used Stampin' Up pattern papers that I bought quite a while ago. I made the tag myself and added a AC Mini Marks rub-on and black glitter Thickers for "Dad". A simple button with DMC floss to embellish.

Okay that's it for me today. I need to get some laundry done. Always have laundry. :-)
