found another!!!

I'm adding one more recycled item for the month. I think this one is really special!!!It's by Lynn Foley of etsy!

"Heart of a different color - because it is made out of recycled Shiner Bock Beer bottle glass. I break up the bottle, then melt the glass in my torch, and finish the pendant "off mandrel". I've strung this simple, elegant, heart on a 16" gold filled chain.

The heart has been annealed, which adds strength. I know it looks delicate, however, I have been testing and wearing my beer bottle glass pieces around for weeks, and nothing has broken. It should last a long time as long as you don't drop it on concrete ;)"

last recycled piece for the month!

January is just about over and here is the last entry in the cgge January Recyle Challenge, and a very nice one at that!
"I used an old micro chip from a cell phone, (I think?) and some scrap piece of iridized glass from the studio. The picture makes the glass and chip look huge..."

Transparent red

One of my favorites, when I first started fusing I ordered this red transparent glass. I ordered way too much because I loved it and had no idea how much I'd need. Still have plenty. It's perfect for Valentines and Christmas!

from artglassfusion

I just love all this recycling stuff.
This lovely barrette is from artglassfusion. There's never a good reason to throw glass away!
"This multi hued and shimmering barrette is my second entry in the Creative Glass Guild of Etsy’s January challenge. The theme for this challenge is “recycled”. This barrette stared out as part of a large tray that unfortunately went a wry.
The process of layering clear glass and the base glass can trap tiny air bubbles between the layers, which does not affect the structure of the barrette, but adds to the uniqueness of each and every barrette.
This barrette is approximately 3 ½” X 1 ¼” "

new one for me....

again with the recycled wine bottle. See the heart slumped in the backside of the glass pendant? I like the shabby sheek look of this.
