Oh Edwin!!!

*3/8/2010 Update:  I won at Roses on Paper!!!  Yayyy!  Thank you so much to ROP and the wonderful girls there!*

Hey Friends!  I don't know about you, but I find that male cards are so hard to make.  I am soooo tempted to put flowers on there just to liven it up a bit!  lol!  I think that's why I'm going nuts over girly stamps and such ... because I have a son, and in the past, I was only doing boy scrapbooking layouts.  Then when I got back into cardmaking in Sept 2009, I went completely crazy with the girly things!  And now I try to make something boyish and I'm like, "Derrrrrr..."  lol!!!

ANYWAY, I made this card for 3 challenges listed below, but first, here's my card:

I'm entering this into:
1.  Roses on Paper :  a card for men/boys
2.  Papertake Weekly :  sketch
3.  Quixotic Paperie :  one for the boys

Ingredients:
Stamp:  Magnolia Edwin
Papers:  K&Co
Medium:  Prismacolor Pencils

If you have any suggestions on how you would have dressed up this card a bit more, please HELP me!  lol!  I would appreciate any suggestions!  :)  Thank you!!!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Sugar Bowl Sketch 29 - Tiets Sketch

Hi Friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  I didn't really do anything much so this afternoon I took my little boy out for a drive.  Just a drive.  He loves to go for rides in the car, and sometimes he and I will just hop in the car and go for a spin just to be out of the house.

I remember growing up in Hawaii, and my dad would do that for us.  We'd just hop in the car, and head nowhere in particular ... just wherever the wheels takes us is where we went.  I loved it!  We'd take long drives out to the ocean where the roads were not paved, it was just rocks.  I'd sit in the back of the truck in the open with the salty wind just blowing ... I loved it!

And once in awhile, I'd knock on the glass of the truck window and ask my dad to stop the truck so I could pick a wild flower (as long as it was nowhere near spiritual ground ... oh gosh ... we are soooo superstitous in Hawaii!  LOL!)  And I've found that I've carried those beliefs over with me to Vegas.  LOL!  I will not move a stone unless it is the stones I walk upon!!

Anyway ... how did I get off track here?!  Well, this is my card for The Sugar Bowl Sketch 29.  Thank you Tiet for such a lovely sketch!!!  We also had to include 3 flowers, 2 brads, and 1 button.  My button is under the ribbon.

Hope you all have a great Monday!  Thank you so much for visiting me and taking the time to leave me such kind comments!  I appreciate it a lot!!!

Thank you Michele!!!!

You can't imagine my heart pounding this morning when I woke up and checked my email to find that i won Michele's Blogiversary Candy!!!  My goodness!  And it's so intense because I know I can't really take my time to absorb it all in slowly .. since I know I have to get my son up to get him ready for preschool.  LOL!  So I'm like trying to hurry and do things like wake him up, get him dressed, so on and then fix his breakfast and what not ...

Then driving him to preschool I know I looked like such a goofball driving and smiling to myself!  Goodness!

Thank you so much Michele for your generous blog candy!  I so appreciate it, and seriously, am still pretty shocked by it!  I do hope you have many many more years of happy blogging!  :)

Quixotic Challenge #14

Hi Friends!  Hope you're all having a great week ... time flies so quick doesn't it?  I'm doing a quick post again, since it's 12:20am and I know I need to get to bed!!  I do love my night hours and staying up till 4 or 5 in the morning, but ever since my little one was born, I have to remember that I can't do that anymore.  LOL!  I used to love sleeping during the day and staying awake all night.  (Well, my work shift required me to do so, but even then ... I LOVED it!)

Anyhow, here's my card that I'm entering into Quixotic Paperie which is "Something For Mom".

Sugar Bowl Challenge 28 - Marlene's Sketch w/Lace

Hi Friends! Did you enjoy your Superbowl Night?!  I hope all of you got the results you were hoping for!  LOL!  My hubby had it on this afternoon before he left for work ... and I must say, I don't know what the heck he was talking about.  He was trying to explain to me some things, and as much as I try to concentrate on what he was saying ... I kinda just lost interest.  LOL!

Well, this next card is for The Sugar Bowl Challenge 28.  Marlene created an awesome sketch and we had to include Lace ... which is always a yummy thing!  Thank you for the sketch Marlene!  I had to rotate the sketch, since my image would fit better onto the card:

Love and Hugs 5 Challenges

Hi Friends!  I hope you're having a great start to your weekend!  And for those of you that love football ... HAPPY SUPERBOWL weekend!  I hope the team you're rooting for wins!  I on the other hand ... don't watch football, so I'll root for whoever you want me to.  LOL!

I'm entering this next card into 5 challenges that I have listed below.  They mainly all deal with the concept of Valentines and Love.  And this is so perfect ... let me tell you quickly what my little 3 year old kept doing for me today.

I picked him up from preschool, and for some reason today, he was full of EXTRA love.  He kept telling me, "Hey mommy, listen ... I have something important to say."  I'd ask him, "What is it?"  He says,"I love you."  When we ate dinner, he says, "Mommy, let me feed you."

I borrowed my son's napkin and wiped my mouth (cause I was too lazy to go up and get one for myself ... LOL), and then my hubby used it also after me.  Then my little boy yells, "NO!  Daddy!  Don't use it!  Let Mommy!"  So my hubby rips it in half and keeps one for himself and gives the other half to my son.  Do you know what my little love bug did?  He says, "Here Mommy.  You can have my napkin."  Awwww!

Alright, that's my soft spot today, so on to my card and the challenges:

I'm entering this into:
1.  Roses On Paper : lovely sketch
2.  Stampin for the Weekend :  Valentines Themed
3.  Charisma Cardz :  Love
4.  Stamp Something :  Love Something

Baby Love

Hey Friends!  I finished an easel card today to enter into 2 challenges.

The first one is for Simon Says Stamp which was for New Baby ... FUN!  (Aren't babies just the most precious lovlies?!  I love em'!!!  All the cute little chunks of legs and cheeks!)  I didn't have any baby stamps ... oddly enough.  So the image I used was the closest I had to having a child in it.  I know they said we could make anything New Baby (it didn't have to be a card) ... but I'm not THAT creative to whip up something in my head quickly.  LOL!  So now I'm thinking ... hmmm ... maybe it's time for me to get at least one baby stamp?!  It's nice to have!

The second challenge is for Cute Card Thursday which was Blooming Gorgeous!  Use lots of flowers on your creation ... stamps, flowers, fabric ... FUN!

Okay, here's my card:

The Fun Stuff:
Stamp:  Sugar Nellie
Paper:  MME
Medium:  Prismacolor pencils
Other:  Prima flowers, MS punches, pearls, dew drops

Thank you for visiting me!  Oh, and this afternoon I had my blog up on the computer when I was playing with this card, and my hubby comes walking in to hop on the computer and I quickly had to say, "Uhhhh, excuse me for a second."  And I quickly closed out my blog!  LOL!  If you read my last post ... you'll know why!  LOL!

Have a great day!

Poppet's Candy! OMG! And some Eye Candy This Morning!

Hi Friends! I wanted to share my excitement with you this morning ... I got soooo lucky and won Poppet's Candy! OMG! Now, let me tell you, when you see something like that first thing in the morning ... your heart really has a jumpstart on the day! I mean, my heart was pounding as if I did an hour workout or something! LOL!  Here's the lovely candy Poppet has graciously offered!  Thank you soooo much Pops!  I appreciate it so much and I'm excited to play with these!

Just a note:  she has another fantastic candy giveaway again!  Head on over to Poppet's, and give it a go!  Her new candy is fabulous again!  :)

Alright, now I figure, there's some things in my life that happens that I find so funny, and I wish I had a friend right beside me when it happens.  But I don't ... everytime something funny happens, I usually am alone, or it's because my son does something funny, or my hubby is with me (but sometimes it's just funnier when you have a girlfriend with you ... don't you agree?!)

Well, from now on, I think whenever I do a post, I'll try to think of something that happened that hopefully will make you smile or giggle so you can share in the laughter with me.  :)

Okay, so this morning, after I dropped my little sweetheart off to preschool (he only goes twice a week), I headed on over for my usual Starbucks (Iced Mocha with Whipcream ... yummm!)  As I'm waiting in the drive through lane, I see an eye candy (yes, a guy ... LOL), who is walking across the parking lot with his cup of coffee.

Now normally, I don't stare at guys, a lot of times I just look and nothing registers with me because I'm too busy or tired or I'll look for half a second and that's it.  "Oh, he's hot  ..."  whatever, nothing more to it.  But this guy this morning, OMG, okay, I could have burned a hole through my car window, because I couldn't STOP staring at this lovely creature!  (No, he couldn't see me ... thank goodness).  He just glided across the parking lot like ... like ... TORTURING me!  LOL!  Then I reach the drive through window, and the cashier was a guy ... totally HOT!

Okay, I had to wonder, "What the heck is wrong with my eyeballs this morning?  Why are all the guys I'm seeing SMOKIN' hot?!"  Gosh, I wish I had a girlfriend in the car with me this morning ... would have been fun to share some laughter.

Well, hope you enjoyed this bit of fun!  Have a wonderful crafting day!  Thank you for visiting me!
xoxo...Elise
