About Me

Chertsey, Surrey, United Kingdom
Hello, I'm Jill - mother of three grown up children and wife to Geoff. I have been crafting one way or another for as long as I can remember. In the1990's I discovered quilling and in 2009 I began selling my quilled card designs online (https://folksy.com/shops/PaperDaisyCardDesign) - this continues to go from strength to strength. My blog "Paper Daisy Cards" features my handmade cards, quilled or otherwise! More recently I re-discovered rubber stamping and became an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator, showcasing and selling high quality paper crafting materials including rubber stamps, inks, cardstock, punches and dies. My blog "Paper Daisy Crafting" features my creations made with Stampin' Up! products, a list of all the papercrafting classes I run, all the latest news and offers and a link to my online shop , so that you too can join in the fun!

Annie's birthday cards

Hello everyone,

It's nearly the end of the summer holidays for me - back to the day job on Monday. Not a happy thought! I've had a great 6 weeks, with lots of time for organising my studio and crafting. But I've also done a lot of sorting out in other parts of the house, tidying and clearing out rubbish - our recycling bin has been overflowing most of the time! My youngest daughter Annie decided to join in with the spring (or summer?) cleaning and had a sort out in  her bedroom. As a result she found a box containing many of the birthday cards I've made her over the past 17 years! I thought you might like to see them. I must admit I had completely forgotten about most of these. They are not all quilled and a few years are missing - no idea where they went!

Her 4th birthday card, made from a design by Diane Boden from JJ Quilling.

This is her 6th birthday card, during her "Angelina Ballerina" phase!

Another Diane Boden design for her 8th birthday.

I think it was around age 9 that she developed her passion for rabbits - several subsequent cards, as well as this one, feature bunnies as you will see!

A bunny again for her 10th birthday.
This is one of my favourites - a concertina card for her 11th birthday.
This must have been around the time her Harry Potter obsession began - her 12th birthday.

An easel card for her 13th birthday.

Back to quilling for her 14th birthday.

And, finally, more bunnies and more quilling for her 15th birthday.

Hope you enjoyed seeing those!!

Have a great weekend,

Jill

Quilled twins congratulations card

Hi there,

Happy Sunday everyone. Today I'm showcasing a new card I've just added to my Etsy and Folksy shops. It was made for a customer whose daughter had just given birth to twins - a boy and a girl. How clever to have one of each!

Until she requested this card, I thought I had most occasions covered but realised I didn't have any "twins" cards. Had to make it in a hurry for obvious reasons. I chose a combination of pale pink flowers for the baby girl and pale blue for the baby boy, but could make this card in all pink for twin baby girls or all blues for twin baby boys.

Beginning the countdown to the end of the school holidays now - how depressing! So little time to "play" when its term time :(

Another new job quilled card

Just back from our family holiday to Italy. Love being away but hate coming back and getting to grips with all the mundane household tasks - washing, food shopping etc. So thought I'd take a quick break from all that to show you another special order card, again for a new job.

I absolutely love the colour scheme of this card - will be making others using these colours I am sure!

Ah well, enough procrastinating - back to the washing!

Quilled new job card

Hi everyone,

A rather rainy Sunday afternoon here in Chertsey. Just popping in quickly to show you a card I made for a colleague a few weeks ago. She left our team and is badly missed, but has gone on to bigger and better things. She's not a very "girly" sort, so I thought I'd try a different colour combination for the flowers on her card.

This is a very adaptable design which can be made to suit a whole range of occasions.
I'm still enjoying the luxury of being off work for the 6 week summer holiday - 3 down, 3 to go. It's so nice to have a bit more time to "play" in my craft room and on here.

Back soon,

Jill

Quilled wedding card

Well, it has been awhile! Won't bore you with details of why I haven't been able to find time to blog recently. I'm hoping to be able to post a bit more now that the school hols are here - watch this space. I do have lots of new cards to show you. I've had lots of requests from customers this year for wedding cards in more unusual colour schemes. This one was for my niece to give to her boss. The colour scheme for the wedding was teal and white. This is not a new design, but it looks quite different in this bolder version, I think.

The patterned paper I've used at the bottom is long retired from Stampin' Up - I wish they would bring it back, it is so beautiful and just right for wedding cards.

Hope you like it! Will be back soon,

Jill
