Graduation Season has come and gone and it's time for trunk parties. TeTe Princess had a request for selfie frames!
Hali is a graduate of The Central High and on her way to Clark Atlanta University. She is my motivational speaker headed for law school. The board was painted black and paste was used to add templates for texture.
Phillip didn't want the girlie look so I had to keep his clean. I took out my markers to draw musical notes. My crafty friend Samantha made the tuba using her Silhouette. Phillip is a graduate of Houston High and is on his way to Tennessee State University. If you ever watch the band at halftime, he'll be playing the tuba in the Aristocrat band. He is my gifted musician.
They make me proud....from babies to college graduates. The sky is the limit for these two!!!!

Junior's canvas
This canvas was painted for my nephews room. I can't wait until he visits us so he can play in the craft studio. I'm going to try and teach him some techniques. He's only four, but he's smart. Can't wait to see what he creates. Check out the close ups below. My next project will be printing his photos so I can catch up with his scrapbook album.

I'm loving the embellishments I used. Some are VERY old. I used stickers, metals and paper stack. |
This photo was taken when he was two years old. He loved to travel with his basketball. The photo is attached to the two clothes pins so we can up date it with new photos. |

Canvas Sign
On my Craft to do list was another canvas sign like the one you see on the right side of my blog. It was gifted to my fellow crafter Rhoda. It went so well in her craft room, which looks like a beach house or tropical escape. My craft room is red/white/black and I wanted to incorporate those colors. Of course I had to include 'My Scrapbook Prayer' that I wrote in 2008 on the road home after leaving a Scrapbook Extravaganza in Little Rock, AR. Here's the canvas with a few close ups. Everything is from my stash.

95 and counting
This mixed media canvas was gifted to my Auntie Granny. She's 95 years old still living independently and doing well. Auntie Granny is on the Mother Board at church and loves her hats. She's known for her preserves, cakes and chow chow. We celebrated with a birthday party on Easter weekend and hope we can keep counting to age 100! I used a watercolor palette from Michaels. Love the purple!

Friday Night Chat Challenges
Enjoyed tonight's Friday Night Challenge over at Embrace Your Art. Tiare better known as Classygirl was our host and she allowed an hour for us to create instead of 30 minutes so I got a chance to take my time. Our first challenge was to create a project with our favorite technique and use our handwriting. I painted this on a watercolor sketch pad using acrylic paint, watercolor, masking, glitter...I don't think I have a favorite technique.
The 2nd challenge was a Sisterhood challenge including a quote about sisterhood. Love this Bug A Boo digital and the quote is heartwarming.
Entering in the following challenges:

My Art Angel
Although paper crafting is my first preference, I sometimes play around with paint. I checked out Tiare's 'My Art Angel' online class featured on Embrace Our Art. It was fun and I got so carried away I couldn't sleep. We were to add a heart and one word. My word is faith. One of my sorority sister's gifted me with a few crafty items since she was not using them. One of the items was a blank canvas mini purse measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. This is my creation and I can't wait to wear it! Now I have to figure out what I will paint on the other side.

Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the Bro-ken-heart-ed. He rescues those who are crushed in the spirit. Psalm 34:18. The scripture is my inspiration for this mixed media design. The heart is a corrugated board painted with swirls of white acrylic paint and edged in Memento black ink. After using gesso over the canvas sheet, I laid down a doily and music. I applied some molding paste over the TCW stencil and sprayed Recollection mist. Gotta add a little bling, right?
Close up of a few causes of brokenness on the bottom right. I wanted to play on the syllables of Brokenhearted by cutting them with edge scissors and placing them in various directions. The heart has a pop dot along with the word Disconsolate. The words are raised on chipboard. I printed the words on white paper and sprayed with mists. Fiber was used to loop the words unto a heart metal tied down with musical ribbon.
Here's a close up of the pop up heart raised up. All of the chip board hearts raised on the white corrugated heart were nude. I added acrylic paint, mist, glitter, ink and bling. My colors are yellow, teal and purple although they look different on the photos. My apologies for that.
The song is 'Love lifted me'. It's from our church program. I LOVE to recycle them. Thank God for His LOVE that lifts us up in spite of the adversities and sins in our lives.
Showing a few Prima items used. Prima Finnabair mechanical vintage trinket and Prima flowers, cottage blossom orchid. The yellow, teal and purple buds were white. They were sprayed with mist used on the design.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are inspired from the scripture, song or something in the design. Make it a great day in the Lord!

Sisterhood Month
This is my Design Team post for Scraps of Color E:spire. My sorority
Delta Sigma Theta celebrates Sisterhood the entire month of March. We have a calendar filled with events to
fellowship, reclaim, and perform kind gestures.
It’s so great to reach out to a sister, especially one you don’t
normally see or hear from. Although we
have many programs for the community, we end the month with a special activity
just for us to focus on our physical, mental and spiritual well being. I love my sorority. Oh just to be a Delta Girl.

Flowers were colored with Violet watercolor paint and centered with Lemon yellow. |
Love making the pyramids! |
Thanks for stopping by. I welcome your comments.

One Word 2015
Patience is my One Word for 2015. How many times have I heard, "Patience is a Virtue"? I've been exercising it since late August. Trying to practice self control and not complain. I know God has a plan for my life and is preparing me for my next career. I just want to be obedient, because His promise will be fulfilled. When I received my Spellbinder window die cut, it reminded me of a song, "God will pour you out a Window of Blessings that you won't have room to receive. I'm claiming it.

PJ Loves to Play
I am so enjoying my nephew and creating layouts for his album. This is Patrick Junior at seven months. Oh how they grow up. I'm using C'est Magnifique October sketch for this layout. I wanted to use a masculine approach on this layout using a little distressing, and fun templates with modeling paste and mists. I used Fiskars crimper tool on the upper left side to give a little texture to the paper. See sketch below.

Create In Me A Clean Heart
This post was inspired by Scrapping Everyday Miracles July challenge: Create/Creation. I cut a heart shape into the corrugated board. I took another board and cut the entire circle out. Gesso and white paint was applied to the cut-out heart. Cheese cloth was put around the edges and I made the white flowers from an EK success small flower and put them in the heart. To make sure there were no gaps, I added beads and buttons and stickles. For the board, different acrylic paints were stroke all over. Then I applied objects that gave me a circular look including a brad with dots.

Tag...I'm it
It's been a Wonderful Crafty Day for me. I played with a few of my Tim Holtz products I received at Hilton's Craftin for a Cause last year. I can't believe I'm just now playing with this stamp set. I purchased his first book at Archivers some years ago and all I do is look and dream....Not today. I made a tag using most of his products. I must give Mandy credit for the cheese cloth. She mentioned it was one of her six favorite tools that she uses on all of her creations. 'She' made me go to Michael's LOL. Got to blame someone for my purchases right? Honestly I think I'm going to take the flower off the tag and replace it with another one. I'm going to wear it!!!! I made it using tulle that I burned the ends and added the cheese cloth after I sprayed it. Then I sewed the button on the top and added some felt at the back.
