Lesson #37 - Caring for Our Physical Bodies

The handout for this lesson was entirely inspired by the drawing found in the lesson manual. I just brought it to life and made it cute. HA! Afterall... we like cute right?

This one is pretty big. I liked BIG for it. I used a good part of an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of patterned paper to print the title & quote onto. Then I cut the "girl" out of pink cardstock and added her using some pop-dots for dimension. Actually I tied the bow on first... then added the girl. I hand wrote the different things our bodies need then added those little strips to the girl.

I have provided the patterns for you here. You can print them as small or large as you want to.

Lesson #36 - The Importance of Truth in Living a Virtuous Life

I apologize once again! For those that have emailed me and inquired about lesson #36 handout.... sorry this is late! I should be able to post earlier in the week from here on out. I've been buried under some things that required all of my time the last week but I am happy to say I am done with it and can focus on other things again!

Anyhoooo.... the handout idea for this lesson is actually located in the YW's Manual but I recreated it to make it a little more "interactive" I guess. To save you some time I created a pattern you can literally copy and paste into Word, resize how you'd like then print it right onto some colored paper like I did. I also made a copy of the arrow in case you don't own an arrow punch. I know I have mentioned this before but I love several layers of paper. If I had more than 3-4 girls in my class every week then I might not go to the trouble but I just love the look of it. This is pretty simplistic. The arrow turns back and forth as it's attached with a brad. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.

Also.... speaking of email. In case you haven't noticed, I added a "subscription" option up there in the right hand side of my blog. If you'd like to automatically receive an email notification each time I update with a new handout idea then just fill in the info. Easy Peasy!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Lesson #28 - Resisting Sin

Okay... I am super stoked because from here on out I will be posting handout ideas AHEAD of most of our lesson schedules! This is the last of the ones I did from past lessons. YAY for progress right?

I love this handout because of the message. It reads:

Have the determination NOT TO YIELD! If you will be diligent in your efforts to avoid and overcome temptations, Heavenly Father will sustain you. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Here is the pattern for the sign I created. All ya gotta do is print this out on some yellow cardstock, cut it out, add a "post" to it, then tie a ribbon to it. Include a tag with the scripture on it. Easy enough?

Lesson #27 - Scripture Study

For this lesson I just went with a cute bookmark for the girls to use and keep in their scriptures. I just used some scraps from my scrapbooking stash. You can make this however simple or detailed you like.... this is just a sample.

The scripture on it reads:

"For my soul delighteth in the scriptures, and my heart pondereth them." 2 Nephi 4:15

Easy Peasy! ♥

Lesson #35 - Living Righteously Amid Pressures

This handout is another quick and easy one.
I printed the Lion Clipart onto some yellow cardstock then colored in the mane and tail.

The message I printed onto white paper:

What’s your lion in the den?

You too can be like Daniel and live righteously amid the pressures around you knowing our
Heavenly Father will always be there to sustain and bless you.

I cut the message out and glued it down next to the lion and added a loopy border rub-on under the wording. It's cute without one too if you don't own any. Then I trimmed the yellow cardstock down and matted it again on some white cardstock trimming it with scallop scissors. One more layer of black after that. Then a tiny tie bow glued on the lion for a finishing touch.

Lesson #34 - Worthy Thoughts

This is another handout that can be created quickly. It's been a rough week here or I would have had this posted sooner! So Sorry!

The message in this lesson talks about having your favorite hymn or song ready to hum in your head when bad or unworthy thoughts come into your mind. That's why I used a Treble Clef note on this. I cut it out of black paper then pop-dotted it on this handout so it would stick up a little. I am providing the pattern below. You can print this as small or as large as you want. And you don't have to add machine stitching or a flower & bow if you want to keep it simple.

I also want to say thanks for the emails and comments with such wonderful positive feedback about my handouts. It's nice to know that there are actually people out there using my ideas and then letting me know they are helpful! I love sharing!

Have a great weekend! ♥

Lesson #26 - Testimony

So I created this handout a few weeks back and totally forgot to post it. So sorry this is late. Oh well. It can be adapted to work with different things. And if ya need a sun pattern for anything... here's one for ya!

The handout reads:

“The testimony you have today will not be your testimony of tomorrow. Your testimony is either going to grow and grow until it becomes as the brightness of the sun, or it is going to diminish to nothing, depending on what you do about it.” -Harold B. Lee
