Welcome

Spotlight Artist Badge
Hi everyone I have an exciting finished project for you, there is this new Sizzix die that I was dying to play with...
You know how much I like houses, right?  Well this one did not dissapoint the new Sizzix Birdhouse die is wonderful and the final result is surprisingly big so here we go, welcome to my messy creative process

here I have the pieces, you have to repeat the sides(2) and the roof (3)to make the bungalow
I had already started on my ferns and blooms

I wanted to play with some textures so I wrapped my house with gauze and used modeling paste to cover it up, trust me when I say it makes for one sturdy foundation.  Once dry your house is amazingly solid!

Since I wasn't done playing with textures I used my folded roof as a pattern to cut my burlap

ok this one's a better photo, I decided not to use the die because I didn't want 3 separate pieces, I wanted a solid one, and I didn't really need the score marks.  It ended up draping beautifully over the paper roof.

and of course you need to work your scallops...

as it was drying out Istarted to play with my gelatos for that perfect turquoise hue I used the Tropical collection, sooo yummy.

then it was a matter of putting it all together

I just love the finished product!!!
See what I mean about the seamless cut on the roof?

it looks like it was made for the garden, I think a fairy would be so happy here!!!
I put a welcome sign there, just in case, you never know, right?

Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you enjoyed my creative mess, LOL
I have used burlap for the burlap love challenge at CCCB
and this yummy color combo from the TSTR, I used the required colors and the twine

I was very inspired with those daisies and how bright and sunny this was

Thank you CCCB  ladies!!!
Hi my dear readers, I have been enjoying the company of my kids that are school free already.
So no blogging, it comes with the territory while we all adjust to the new schedules.
I have been dying to play @ CCCB they are such a fabulous group of girls!  I  decided today was the day to finally sit down and play.
Ros has a color challenge, it seems apricot and  peach seem to be on my work lately, so I was very happy to obligue.
I have done something new, inspired by the jars on the inspiration photo I decided to create my
very own mason jar.  Since I don't own one of the dies I decided to draw and cut my own.
Of course being me I had to make it even more challenging, I wanted my mason jar to be dimensional and to actually hold something in it.
{ I forgot to mention earlier there is a bunch of Melissa Frances blooms inside ;)  }

I was sooo happy with the results, should had been taking photos of the process...
I exactoed my card base (gorgeous CP) and used vellum as my "glass".
My "fabric" is a remnant of Authentiques Mother's day line as is my label.
The cording is AC and the bloom Prima
Speaking of which Ck out my tic tac toe game, featured at the Prima blog today, yeyyyy!!!!!

more dimensional pics, so you can see the depth!
love the afternoon sun coming through the window

rich, textures, for my touch of gray I went with Tim Holtz tape

and finally the full card, hope you enjoyed my creation!

Smile and the world will smile with you!

Just found out the page got featured at TCR, yey!!!!!!
Hi everyone!!! isn't that quote just perfect? it's a cut out from a gorgeous paper by MME
one of their new lines designed by Rhona Farrer, (find your wings and fly » up and away  and sky's the limit) those paper lines just beg you for the scissors...
You can take a peek at the side bar and see what I did with this paper line for my daughter's baby picture and here's the link so you can see detail shots here in the blog.
So I thinks it's a very versatile line, one boy, one girl page coming from the same collection ;)
They have this new challenge at their blog and I have decided to join in the fun using as my guide their sketch and the color challenge from TCR
On Mother's day I got to spend some time with my dear nephew and I have to tell you the camera LOVES this little guy!!!
he was playing with my son and was having a blast!
if I could I would bottle up his laughter

I decided to hand sew the arrows since my sewing machine is out of comission

that trendy mustache looks so cool in this page, for a little guy, LOL
i splashed my paper with yummy Dylusions in orange and black

And those adorable enamel dots are so yummy!!!!

that sun on the right hand side was great to cut up

I will cherish this moment forever

My daughter is about to step up on a new level on her Montessori school so she needed to present the class with the timeline of her life.  She asked me for several pictures of her life from me being pregnant to her being 8.  I let her pick and in those we found this precious baby photo.
While she did her work I decided to print a copy for me too and reminisce on this moment when she arrived in our lives for the first time.
For my testimony
I journaled about how much we wanted her, how excited her brother had been of seeing her for the first time on the sonogram and then on real life.
My first pregnancy was so difficult, the birth complications, the month long stay at NICU, my empty hands leaving the hospital with my first born hospitalized...
It took us 8 years to take the courage and my what a worthy wait, you are so precious to us 3, you have filled our life with laughter, joy and pink, so much pink, I wouldn't have it any other way and I want you to know that, you make our life complete!

For my scheme I have used all 5 colors, using the palest sweetes pink on my varnished paper

for my testimony I chose to tuck my journaling, I took advantage of the MME pp that had the shape of an envelope and created my own with a glassine bag by Webster's.
I made it so it opens and shuts and lined it in papers that matched the scheme

for my evdence I chose those enamel black circles,
this piece of Websters gorgeous trim was the perfect green accent,
Distress background with paints and inks
and vertical strips of patterned paper

tons of layered pp

this photo is so precious to me

loved working this case, now you can have a glimpse of the spun sugar distress ink used on my background

my CSI inspiration board
if you know me you know these are MY colors, LOL

Life Changes for you two

I am happy to say this page got picked as !!!!

"What a beautiful and poignant page Milagros has created to document this important stage in her relationship with her father. There is so much to admire about Milagros's page, from the beautifully crafted text to the symbolic embellishments adorning every part of her page. We love the comparison of her son, a senior, with her father, a different type of senior. The banner with the hand-drawn details that document aspects of her story, are touching and genius. Thank you, Milagros, for sharing this piece of your heart with us."

Today I am sharing a very emotional page I have done to document some recent changes in my life.
I have become a mother again, this time to a 77 yr old
My dad is now closer to me, I can spend time with him everyday,
share a cup of coffee and the newspaper....
and the sorrow of having him uprooted from everything he knows.
I have decided to document these 2 here, half of the page is this new Senior, a High School one
Half of it is this new Senior, Dad

Even the journaling spot is split in 2 to talk about them
these are real coffee stains
In trying to overcome my week I spilled hot coffee on my white jeans this week
it was an accident but it happened again yesterday
so I decided to incorporate it on my page.
It smells like coffee, but I know it will be a reminder of other things

things like having ghanged his home, his town, being uprooted from all he knows
moving closer to another family, to a town where the sun rises, it's the cycle of life in a way

I just hope it all works for the best for the two of you...
I have used this sketch from Page Drafts
