Nails Inc Gossip Girl - Lily

Today I have for you the last of the Gossip Girl collaborations from Nails Inc, Lily. See here for the Blair set and here for Serena. I am quite sad actually that there are only the 3 of these as would love some more of the Overglazes as these 3 have been stunning.

Here is a picture of the Lily set.

Lily is a very dark black/plum base, coverage was great with 1 coat, and could have possibly just been left at that but here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 coats of Lily and no top coat.

And now for the Overglaze, which is called High Society in this set.  It is described as a red/green overglaze on the Nails Inc website but to be honest I did not see much red in this, mostly green (a couple of different shades) and gold, and a very slight hit of blue sometimes at the sides but no red.  That does not, however, change how much I like this polish, as the fact there isn't red makes me like it more (more info coming up on this soon).

For now here is the above mani with 1 coat of Overglaze and 1 coat of the Shield.

I love this collection too and still cannot decide which is my favourite so I am so glad I have all 3.

Now back to why the lack of red is a good thing, I am sure when many people (me included) seen the description for this Overglaze, it sounded an awful lot like Nubar 2010, which I have shown you before here and matte here, I was so happy that when I actually tried them together they are not that similar at all.

High Society has a lot more of the green/gold flakies where as 2010 does show green but the main colours are red and orange.  I would also say the flakes in the Nails Inc polish are larger than the Nubar.  Here is a quick comparison picture for you to see, this is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of Lily and 1 coat of High Society on pointer and ring fingers and 1 coat of 2010 on middle and pinkie fingers, with 1 coat of the Shield over all.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have liked these collections.

The Nails Inc product was sent to me for review, the Nubar was purchased by me.

Illamasqua Vice and Nubar 2010

I have for you today one of the lovely Illamasqua Theatre of the Nameless 'rubber effect' polishes.  This one is called Vice and is a pretty berry colour.

I have not managed to buy these polishes for myself but my amazing friend Fi bought them and then went on holiday before she could get a chance to use them, so of course I offered to polish sit for her.....

These are my first Illamasqua polishes and I was so happy to try them eventually, the bottle is an amazing design, and looks like it will be very storage friendly for when I finally buy some.  The application was great and the cap on this polish was slightly rubberised to mirror the finish of the polish inside.

This is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of Vice and no top coat.

I love this polish, the finish of this reminds me of candle wax.

Now........ I had been thinking about how the flakies would look matte, I had seen pictures of this before and it looked great so I had to try it for myself.  I had quickly swatched 2010 over this polish when Fi came over with them and it looked ideal so here is the above mani with 1 coat of Nubar 2010 and then topped with 1 coat of Kleancolor Madly Matte, which I had used before to produce a more rubbery finish than a standard matte top coat.

The 2010 on top of this polish still shows different colours but leans more towards showing the orange and the yellow flashes.

Thanks for looking <3 xx

Nails Inc Tudor Way with Nubar 2010

After posting yesterdays mani, I was going to just top it up with another layer of matte top coat as I was really liking it.  But that all changed when I received my Nubar 2010 in the mail.

Most of you have probably seen, or already own, this polish as I am a bit late to the party, but luckily it is still in full swing!

This is such a great polish, Nubar released it in 2010 to celebrate their 10 year anniversary.  It contains multichrome reflective flakes of glitter and can be put over any other polish.  Looking at it on my nails I can see red, orange, green and yellow, and this is all at the same times sometimes.

This is 1 coat of 2010 over yesterdays Matte Tudor Way, and no additional top coat as I didn't feel it needed it as it dried pretty shiny and smooth, and I have enough layers on my nails anyway....

Thanks for looking <3
