Marxism For ALL!
Obama’s campaign has written the Department of Justice demanding a criminal investigation of the “American Issues Project,” the vehicle through which Dallas investor Harold Simmons is financing the advertisements. The Obama campaign — and tens of thousands of supporters — also is pressuring television networks and affiliates to reject the ads. The effort has met with some success: CNN and Fox News are not airing the attacks...
Bauer’s letter called on the Justice Department to open “an investigation of the American Issues Project; its officers and directors; and its anonymous donors, whoever they may be.” [...] The Obama campaign plans to punish the stations that air the ad financially, an Obama aide said, organizing his supporters to target the stations that air it and their advertisers. [...]
One large group of network affiliates, the Sinclair Broadcast Group — which aired an documentary attacking John Kerry in 2004 — has been running the ads, Obama aides said. The campaign has launched a special effort to pressure Sinclair.
“Obama supporters have now sent more than 93,000 e-mails to the Sinclair stations that have decided to run the ad,” said Obama’s spokesman Tommy Vietor. “Other stations that follow Sinclair’s lead should expect a similar response from people who don’t want the political discourse cheapened with these false, negative attacks.”
See, it isn't fascism when the left tries to silence any political discourse. When they do it, it's protecting discourse. After all, we plebes are clearly too damn stupid to do any research or figure it out for ourselves.
A Few Thoughts On Obamamania...
The less you find out as you go
I knew much more then than I do now
Neon heart day-glow eyes
A city lit by fireflies
They're advertising in the skies
For people like us
And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights
Don't look before you laugh
Look ugly in a photograph
Flash bulbs purple irises
The camera can't see
I've seen you walk unafraid
I've seen you in the clothes you made
Can you see the beauty inside of me?
What happened to the beauty I had inside of me?
(cut)
And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights
Time...time...time...time...time
Won't leave me as I am
But time won't take the boy out of this man
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights
The more you know the less you feel
Some pray for others steal
Blessings are not just for the ones who kneel... luckily

By Wire Dispatches, Associated Press
Denver (AP) - A black delegate for Hillary Rodham Clinton says she was called an "Uncle Tom" by Illinois Senate President Emil Jones, one of Barack Obama's political mentors.
Chicago political consultant Delmarie Cobb says Jones made the remarks Saturday night while discussing her support for Clinton. She called the remark "fighting words" and unacceptable.
Jones, who also is black, said Monday that he never uttered the slur. He says he referred to Cobb and other Clinton supporters as "doubting Thomases."
Cobb says that explanation doesn't make sense because she confronted Jones at the time and he didn't indicate she'd misunderstood.
A dispute within the Illinois delegation could distract from the unity message Obama is trying to deliver this week.

Hell Hath No Fury...
A photograph shows the lacy black underpants, described as "size humongous" and the "size small" condom wrapper, which the woman found in her bed after her husband's alleged affair with a woman named Kylie.
Anna says of the panties: "They are so huge I thought they may make someone a nice shawl or, even better, something for Halloween perhaps."

The Satanic Sports?
Sheikh Muhammad Al-Munajid is a well-known Saudi Islamic lecturer and author. He frequently appears on Saudi TV channels and is known for issuing controversial fatwas. He previously worked in Washington, D.C. at the Saudi Embassy Islamic Affairs Department but was stripped of his diplomatic credentials. [1]
In an August 10, 2008 interview with Al-Majd TV, Al-Munajid was highly critical of the Beijing Olympics, which he called the "bikini Olympics," referring to them as "satanic."
Al-Munajid is known for his criticism of other sporting events. In a January 2005 interview, he said that soccer games "reveal nakedness," adding that women must not exercise in public because they wear "tight fitting, short" outfits to do so, and also that women are forbidden from participating in the Olympics. [2] Al-Munajid also discussed, in a July 2007 interview, how Western "beasts" use public toilets and wear colored underwear "to conceal all that filth." [3]
Oh, so are the Saudis freeballing? I guess they don't need to cover up 'all that filth.' More importantly, just WHERE are the Muslims going to relieve themselves?!?
Following the December 2004 Southeast Asia earthquake and tsunami, in January 2005 Al-Munajid called the disaster "punishment" for sex tourism on New Year's Eve and for drunkenness on Christmas, [4] and said that Allah had "finished off the Richter scale" in vengeance against the infidel criminals. [5]
Gee, you'd think that Allah could have totally finished everyone off. He must've had too much eggnog that year and got sloppy, huh?
Before that, in April 2004, Al-Munajid discussed jihad, the U.S., and Iraq, calling America "Heretica" and assuring viewers that "the big explosion will come." [6]
A Saudi terrorist? Who'd have thunk it?
To view this clip on MEMRI TV, visit http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/1832.htm.
You MUST view the video. The TOLERANT Saudis actually have a sign language dude in the corner of the video!
To visit the MEMRI TV page for Saudi cleric Muhammad Al-Munajid, go to http://www.memritv.org/subject/en/517.htm.
Muhammad Al-Munajid: "How come modern sports - especially women's sports - involve the exposure of private parts? It is well known that the Olympics - both in the past and the upcoming games... the world's worst display of women's clothing is the women's Olympics. No exposure of women's private parts on a global scale could make Satan happier than Olympic games that include women's sports."
HUH?!? I'm willing to bet that if private parts were being exposed, the ratings would be much, much higher...
Interviewer: "And in a scandalous manner..."
Muhammad Al-Munajid: "Yes. It is an enormous Satanic issue.
[...]
"One of these criminals compared a soccer team that made it to the top in Asia and traveled to Spain to the conquest of Andalusia! Allah be praised! The conquest of lands, the bringing of monotheism to these lands, where the name of Allah is uttered, where Islamic learning and scholars emerge, and where the banners of Islam are raised high - all these you compare to people chasing an inflated piece of leather?!
Hee, hee, hee!!!
[...]
"Many people nowadays watch sports rather than participate in them."
Interviewer: "And this is a problem..."
Muhammad Al-Munajid: "If only they would run or move their bodies a little... All they do is sit and watch the sports channels. Some fathers come to me and ask if it is permitted to hook up just to the sports channels. It is for the kids, they say. There is pressure. Football leads to temptation. It is not an innocent sport. Take boxing, for example, or some types of so-called free[style] wrestling, which involve hitting the face, breaking bones, inflicting injuries and pain. They involve obvious bodily harm. The Prophet Muhammad said: If you beat someone, avoid the face. (Isn't he just SO merciful, folks? Puh-lease...)The Islamic jurisprudence authority banned boxing, because it involves beating in the face, which can lead to blindness, brain damage, broken bones, and even death. The beater is not held responsible, because they both consented to this, and the spectators are happy. When someone is beaten in the face and knocked down, they jump for joy.
[...]
"Wrestling involves the exposure of women's private parts. (Again, it does? Since when?) Even the promotion of the competitions is done by scantily clad women. This is done at the beginning of the match, in the middle, and at the end, or so I hear... the matches are promoted by half-naked women.
[...]
"The sport of yoga was originally a Hindu game used for divine worship. For them, practicing yoga is a means of divine worship. Whoever practices yoga today is emulating their form of worship.
[...]
"Beijing or not... I call it Bikini, anyway... because they are likely to display women in the worst possible way in these 'Bikini' Olympic games.
[...]
"What women wear in the Olympic games are among the worst clothes possible. The inventions of Satan, with regard to the exposure of the body in gymnastics, in swimming, in whatever, in tennis... (Ooh, so Satan is a fashion designer? How FABULOUS!)Women have never gotten naked for sports like they do in the Olympics. It is aired to billions of people worldwide. The problem is not just with the spectators who are present. The whole thing is aired on TV..."
Interviewer: "And maybe the men's clothing is more modest than the women's..."
Muhammad Al-Munajid: "There's no 'maybe' about it. It is definite."
Puh-lease. What a bunch of nonsense.

Big Movies and Obscene Profits?
...To take a family of four to a movie at an AMC Theatre, it will cost anywhere from $55.75 to $71.50, depending on whether the family shares movie snacks or not, and this does not even include gasoline.
For that same $71.50, the family could purchase enough gas for their car (of decent gas mileage) to drive from Disneyland to Las Vegas and back again. And for the price of tickets and extra-large refreshments, , they could drive from Disneyland to the Grand Canyon and back again.
Where are the calls for federal investigation into price gouging at concession stands?
For years, populist politicians have dragged oil industry executives to Capitol Hill and accused them of price manipulation. Every time gas prices increase, liberal lawmakers direct the Federal Trade Commission to investigate oil industry price gouging. To their chagrin, the FTC has never found oil industry price manipulation.

It's Not Easy Being Green...
Death Row Tuesday
The International Court of Justice had ruled that Medellin was entitled to a new hearing as he was not told of his right to contact a consular official.
Texas says its courts are not bound by the rulings of the ICJ.
Damn right.
Medellin's case dates back to 1993 when two girls, Jennifer Ertman, 14, and Elizabeth Pena, 16, were raped and murdered by six gang members in Houston.
Medellin, who was born in Mexico but moved to the US as a young child, was convicted of Miss Pena's murder.
Um, you mean to say he was an illegal alien.
At the time of his arrest, police did not tell him that he could request assistance from the Mexican consulate - in violation of the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
In 2003, Mexico, which does not have the death penalty, filed a lawsuit at the ICJ on behalf of Medellin and 50 other Mexican nationals on death row in the US who
had also not received consular support.
The court ruled in Mexico's favour, and ordered that their cases be reviewed.
Here's an idea, Mexico. If you don't like us executing YOUR rapists and
murderers, maybe you should keep them in YOUR country, along with all the other millions of illegals here. Maybe then we might listen to you on the subject.
Texas acknowledged that Medellin had not been told he could ask for help from Mexican diplomats, but argued that he had forfeited the right because he never raised the issue at trial or sentencing.
State officials also argued that it would not have made any difference to the outcome of the case.
That's right. This piece of filth committed capitol crimes against our citizens
on our soil. Mexican consulates do not dictate Texas law any more than our consulates abroad can dictate to those countries what their legal system can do.
Earlier this year, President George W Bush ordered Texas to comply with the ICJ ruling, but the Supreme Court justices subsequently decided 6-3 that he had overstepped his authority.
Thank God the SCOTUS ruled the way they did. When did the President forget that our Federalist system prohibits foreign countries from dictating to the States what they can and cannot do.
Where the hell does Bush get off?!?
Last month, in response to an urgent request from Mexico, the ICJ ordered the US t
o "take all measures necessary" to halt Medellin's execution.
Um, you can just go to hell, ICJ.
But Texas judicial authorities said in response that the law in Medellin's case was "clear".
"Texas is not bound by the World Court but by the US Supreme Court, which reviewed this matter and determined that the convicted murderer's execution shall proceed," a statement from the attorney general's office said.
That's right. We were done with petty tyrants dictating to us what we must do from across the Atlantic in 1776, as I recall.
On Monday, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles rejected a request by Medellin and his legal team for a reprieve.
Medellin's legal team are still hoping the Supreme Court will grant a stay of execution that would give Congress time to enact new legislation compelling US states to abide by ICJ decisions.
Excuse me?!? That is just utterly insane!
As I mentioned in the post title, this is a death row roundup. On to story number two, which will make you think you've fallen into an alternate universe.
From this source, all emphasis mine:
(UPI) – Attorneys for an Ohio death row prison inmate say Richard Wade Cooey is too fat to be executed constitutionally.
They have filed a lawsuit saying that because Cooey is grossly overweight, his execution by lethal injection, scheduled for Oct. 14, would be difficult and that he would suffer unnecessary pain while the death sentence was carried out, making it unconstitutional, The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch reported Tuesday.
I don't even understand this. How does being fat make you have more pain than normal while being executed? Does this mean that he's too fat for any other medical procedures?
And really, I don't care if this chunk of human offal is uncomfortable while he's dying. I'll bet his victims 'suffered unnecessary pain' while they died, too.
And how the hell is a prisoner in our jail being fed SO MUCH that he can become grossly overweight? That's INFURIATING!
The newspaper said Cooey, 41, is 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighed 275 pounds on May 19, which was the last time he had been on the scales at the Ohio State Penitentiary in Youngstown. A spokesman for Ohio Attorney General Nancy Rogers said state officials were considering legal options.
Cooey and an accomplice were convicted of the rapes and bludgeoning slaying of two Akron, Ohio-area women college students in 1986.
You give me this asshole until Oct. 14th, and I guarantee that he'll loose some weight. Nothing but bread and water, and forced marching around a little yard for about 10 hours a day ought to do it... And that's not 'cruel or unusual', either. Hell, you could make the argument that allowing this guy to become obese is what's mean. Let's make sure he gets to meet his Maker in tip-top shape.
Oh, and one thing this story doesn't mention: He and another inmate attempted to escape in 2005. Niiiice.
