Christmas 2008

For Christmas this year we stayed at home in Davis. We didn't have enough extra money to travel or to visit family, so we decided to spend it together at home with the kitties. This is our little Christmas tree we found at a thrift store.

I had to put it up on top of my messy book shelf so that Darby didn't try to play with it and knock it over.

This is us trying to take a picture with our tree after decorating it with candy canes!

Haha, my head kept getting in the way of the tree! Oh well!
We decided to take a drive to Tahoe to see the snow and enjoy the views. That is a candy cane in my mouth. =)
There was so much snow! It was beautiful!

This one is a cool picture because you can see the setting sun in the mirror!

This is a short video of us driving. Man, do I look mad when I am driving!! I think I was scared because the road was icy!
We couldn't get all the way to Tahoe because we hit a TON of traffic because dumb California drivers can't drive in the snow and the pass was all snowed over, and everyone was taking FOREVER to put on their snow chains.

So, because it was getting dark (as you can see from these pictures) we stopped a little off the road and played in the snow for a little while, till it got really dark.

You can see deer foot prints in the snow behind us!!

My snow ball!

I really liked this tree branch covered in snow - it was so pretty!!

We were trying to take a picture of the both of us with the snow covered tree branch - haha!

Once we got home, I started dinner! This is me cooking.

This has to be one of my favorite pictures EVER of Lennin. What would I do without him here to make me laugh =)

Lennin patiently waiting for me to finish dinner. Those are our really cool hand made goblets we found at a thrift store! Yeay!

Lennin sneaking a brussel sprout. Yum, yum, yum - brussel sprouts with vinegar and olive oil is one of our new found favorite foods!!

Dinner is served! Spinach salad, portabello lasagna, brussel sprouts, and mashed sweet potatos!!
My beautiful creation! Yum!
Us together, about to eat.
Lennin in the 'zone' - he was so hungry!
Haha! Me trying to take a picture with Lennin while he was eating!!

Thanksgiving, 2008

So, for Thanksgiving this year Lennin and I planned a little [more] ahead than last year, which was horrible. This year we decided to BBQ veggies and tofu-hotdogs!
It is hard to BBQ this time of the year, though, because it gets dark so friggin' early! Oh well, we managed and dinner was great! With Lennin and myself both so busy it is really nice to sit down and have have a meal together!! This picture is crappy because my camera is dumb and we tried to take a picture on timer, but it wouldn't focus or flash...oh well!
Besides our BBQ veggies-dogs and grilled veggies, I made a fresh spinach salad, yummy mashed potatoes, and for desert a vegan peach pie!

Vegganise and sauerkraut to top it off!
We are thankful for each other! Thanksgiving kisses!! Except it is hard to take a picture when someone is kissing your cheek..haha!
