Seventh Grade is the year for camp. Camp Tecumseh is the highlight of the year for most 7th graders. The students go in two groups some Monday through Wednesday and the rest Wednesday through Friday. Alexa was a part of the Wednesday through Friday group. She was in a group of girls that she didn't know very well but it worked out all right. She came home full of stories to share. Alexa is great about giving detailed information about her experiences and it's as if we had been right there with her. She thoroughly enjoyed the high school counselors that were there and will never forget some of the skits that were performed by the teachers. She came home exhausted and with a bit of a cold but overall having had a good time. I remember going to camp in the 6th grade and having a really good time. I remember the high school counselors getting to stay up way later than us and having pizza and treats brought in from outside the camp. Alexa noticed the same thing. She said the counselors were supposedly going to some important meeting at night and it was just a party where they got to eat pizza and play games. I shared with her that I was able to go as a counselor as a senior in high school and was able to take part in the pizza and games. She may decide she wants to go back as a counselor.

Spring Break 2011
We spent Spring Break in Ohio. We spent most of our time in the sewing room. Grandma had inherited some fabric from a friend and we took advantage of the free fabric to make some creations. Mackenzie made two jumper dresses, Alexa made 2 pairs of shorts, Dayton make a pair of shorts and a cube, and all three of them made hats. Some of the fabric has been deemed only wearable within the confines of our own home..:-) It was a great week and all three kids have become quite comfortable with the sewing machine and serger.
In the bag of inherited fabric there was tube of fabric that was used at a changing station for trying on clothing or snuggling in to keep warm. It was affectionately referred to as "the tube."
