Ice staking bear

Morning Folks!
Hope you're all OK and those Christmas preparations are coming together... if you're as disorganised as me, don't panic there's still a few sleeps to go yet!! Today, I'm sharing my last Guest design team card for the new challenge over at House Mouse and Friends, where the new theme is

SILVER or GOLD

I've had a great time joining in the House Mouse fun for the last few challenges and I'd just like to thank all the HM team for inviting me to join them and to wish them all a very Happy Festive season!!

So onto my card..
I went for the silver option because I generally prefer it to gold, even in real life  which is unusual because I normally have expensive taste - LOL!!

This little chap looks a bit nervous I think, not exactly a confident skater!! He is one half of the skater pair on the Dancing Queen Gruffies set from Joanna Sheen. He's been coloured with promarkers and a bit of glitter pen and stickles for the ice.

The frame is made from four Memory Box Snowflake corner dies and lots of aqua bling. Sentiment is from Crafters Companion and the snowflake ribbon is a bargain from the xmas gift wrap department at Asda.

Thanks for looking in today and for any comments you leave, much appreciated and please try to find the time to join in over at HM&F - it runs until January 11th so you could do it after the big HO, HO, HO!!
Wish me luck, today's mission is to the post office with a few parcels....

Christmas Jumper Bear

Morning Folks!
Hope everyone is OK?
I'm here with some mid month inspiration for the challenge over at Ready Teddy Go where our theme is

CONTEMPORARY CHRISTMAS
so modern cards including a bear/ teddy of course!!

Here's my card, another attempt at CAS. I've used a very cute digi which I discovered at Birdie Brown just before the store sadly closed (talk about coming late to the party!!)
I've coloured him with promarkers and then paper pieced his jumper and hat. Looks like his Nan might have knitted him a new jumper for Christmas!! I'm thinking he is about to enjoy some cocoa!! Couldn't resist adding a pom pom to his hat:
The papers are a mixture of very old DCWV and First Edition, none of them are actual 'Christmas papers' but I think they work?? The wooden sentiment is by Dovecraft, I coloured it over with a promarker so that it matched better.
Thanks for visiting today and please pop over to the Ready Teddy Go challenge blog to see the fabulous inspiration from the design team and to check out this lovely prize:

Wish I could enter!!

Warm and cosy christmas

Morning Folks!
Hope everyone is well!
I'm here with another Guest design team card for the new challenge over at House Mouse and Friends, no prizes for guessing our new theme is

CHRISTMAS !!

Here's my card using another stamp from ebay, I can't resist looking and buying!! This one is called "Cuddly and Warm" although I have to say I'm not too sure those poor little mice do look that warm!! Bit more like deep frozen I reckon!!

Aww, poor things!!
I did give them some furry hats though!!
Also added lots of glitter to the tree branches and snow but my camera is having one of those 'I can't see it days' again...

The papers are Country Companions and Forever Friends, LOTV sentiment is heat embossed. Silver mesh has been in my stash for at least 2 years waiting to be used! The die cut border is of course Memory Box - I've used this one lots this year!!

Thanks for visiting today and also for any comments you like to leave, they are much appreciated! Hope you can join us at HM&F!!

Afternoon Folks!
Wow, can you believe that it is December 1st today??
Where did November go...??
I'm also running behind with this post, I meant to schedule it yesterday but we went out for the day and I completely forgot!! So without further ado, here's my DT card for the new challenge at Here Come the Boys which is everyone's favourite:

(masculine projects only please!!)

This challenge is our last one of the year and it's going to be running until 3rd January so you have plenty of time to join in!!
I've used a favourite Forever Friends stamp on my card - it seems to come out every Christmas !!

This is my first attempt at colouring with pencils on kraft card and I'm quite pleased with the finished result - even if my camera tried to make all the red colours a bit orangey!!
Also an early attempt at CAS with lots of space, I kept thinking about adding some holly berries in the corner but managed to step away!!

Hope you can join us, we have two lovely prizes on offer!!

Happy Mousey!!

Morning Folks!
Gosh, Monday again... where did the weekend go??
Still good news, it's time for my second guest design team spot over at House Mouse and Friends where the new challenge is:

MY FAVOURITE THINGS

I had to think about this one a bit and narrow down my options. First up obviously a House Mouse Stamp but which one because I have so many favourites??
I chose this one because it is one of the first Joanna Sheen stamp sets I bought and also because it has cake on it - who can resist cake?? Not me!!

Second choice was the colour, I like pink or lilac on cards even though I'm not a pink person IRL, so after much dithering, I went for both!!
Finally embellishments which is where restraint left the building, I love HM because you can really dress them up or keep them quite simple. In this case I went for the more, more, more option - BIG ribbon bow, braid, and of course my all time fav Memory box die cuts. This one is the Macarena corner with a few pearls for good measure!!

So here's the big reveal, the finished card:

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you can join in the fun over at HM&F!!

I'd also like to enter the challenges at:
Joanna Sheen - Celebrate
MAWTT - Furry friends
Crafty Ribbons - Anything goes with ribbon
Creative knockouts - make it Sparkle
Crafty Creations - Dies and Punches
Crafter's cafe - Embellish like crazy
Fab N funky - Anything goes
The Hobby House - Pearls (plus MB and spellbinders dies)
Sparkles Monthly - Animals

Celebration time!!
This card was the daily talent spot at Joanna Sheen's blog on 21/11/13

What the Heck happened??

Morning Folks!
Happy Sunday to you all!
Today sees the start of a new challenge at Here come the Boys which is

SENTIMENTS ONLY

As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew exactly which stamp to use - it's from the Indigo Blu set called 'Little Voice' -
it just makes me laugh and was perfect for an old family friend who was celebrating his 70th birthday!
The papers are Docrafts 'Wellington' which have a nice distressed look, although I have added some extra ink!!

The frame is cut from Nestabilities labels 15 and has been stuck on with foam tape so the card has a bit of dimension.

I couldn't find a suitable pocket watch charm or embellishment the right size, so I decided to make my own using this brass effect fastener (from ebay) , a tiny clock face from a scrap of Craft Creations paper and lots of glossy accents. The chain is from Hobbycraft.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you can join us over at Here Come the Boys!!

I'd also like to enter the following challenges:
Natalie & Amy - For the boys
As you like it - Spots or stripes
(I love both as you can see but I guess if I really had to choose it would be stripes because they can be tiny weeny or big bold and broad in a way that spots can't!!)
That Craft place - Sentiments

MADE THE TOP 5 AT AS YOU LIKE IT!!

Morning Folks!

OK, I'm back now to show you my midway reminder for the challenge over at Ready Teddy Go which is

EMBOSSING

I've made this gift bag for a special little friend of mine, you can probably tell pink is her favourite colour!! This is another kraft gift bag from Hobbycraft, one of my best buys this year!! You can see my House Mouse one here. Not much to say about this, I think the pictures say it all!!

I've used a combination of nesties, Memory box and Cuttlebug dies, glitter papers plus lots of stickles and gems so this is quite sparkly!

My favourite James the bear stamp from LOTV, coloured with promarkers and blinged up with stickles and glamour dust:

Heat embossed sentiment from Stampin Up and cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder for background:

Santa Mouse

Morning Folks!
3 posts in 3 days....
I know, you can't believe it ....and nor can I - LOL!!!

Today's post is very special because I have been invited to be a guest designer over at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge for a second time - thrilled to bits!!

This fortnight the challenge is

ANYTHING BUT A CARD

I found these cute little kraft bags in Hobbycraft while I was up in York and inspiration struck - Christmas gift bags. They are a really nice size, about 14cm across so very much like doing a card!! The papers also fell into my basket in Hobbycraft, they are Country Companions Winter Wishes. I liked them because some designs you could use all year round.

The stamp is from a Joanna Sheen set called Opening Presents, coloured with promarkers.
Here's a closer look at that little face!! The furry trim on the hat isn't really pink IRL but the camera and I were struggling with rubbish winter lighting - please come back summer, I miss you already!!

Thanks for visiting today and please join us over at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge, there is some fantastic inspiration from the rest of the team and some lovely prizes on offer!!

I'd also like to enter the challenges at:

Rocking Snowman

Morning Folks!
I know these posts are like buses, nothing for ages and then 2 posts in one weekend!! Well at least that's what I'm hoping happens as I'm leaving Mr Blogger to sort this one out for me so fingers crossed...

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Here Come the Boys, we'd like to see

ROCKER CARDS

Now, nobody panic quite a few of the team, me included, had never made a rocker card before but I have to say I don't think it will be my last, I love the way it turned out and was much easier than I first thought it might be!! there are also lots of great tutorials on the web to help you!!

Here's my card, I used grand nesties to cut out the base bit and then blew the dust off some Snowman decoupage that I have had for ages to make a topper. I had to tweek it a little to get the card to balance as the layers added a bit of weight but nothing too complicated.

Hope you are feeling brave and give the rocker challenge a go, all the details and fab makes from the rest of my teamies are on the Here Come the Boys Blog here. By the way, did I mention we have a fab prize on offer from our sponsors Bugaboo, so what are you waiting for??

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
2 Sisters challenge = Christmas but no red or green
Totally Gorjuss = Anything goes plus Snow
A gem of  a Challenge = Christmas is coming
Allsorts = Christmas Cheer
Cute Card Thursday = Sparkles
Polkadoodles = Anything Christmas
Crafty calendar = Christmas

Hope everyone is well??
This is going to be a super quick post from me, I started this card before we went away for a few days and I have just about managed to get it finished this afternoon. I was determined to enter the "Anything goes with twine challenge" over at House Mouse and Friends which finishes tonight!!

The stamp is called 'Beary Fast sledge'
Here's a closer look, love the expression on the bears face, is he having fun or really terrified?? As usual he is coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers. Must be Christmas coming, I've broken out the glamour dust, glitter pens and stickles!!!

The papers are a mixture of Dovecraft and Forever Friends, the die cut is by memory box and the charm, twine and gems are all from my stash. Off to cook tea and watch strictly... thanks for looking!!
