Drinkies anyone ??!!

Afternoon everyone, I hope that you are all enjoying the sunshine - I love it when it is hot!! I do wish though that I could spend all day snoozing in a hammock with a glass of something cool like the little chap below!!

The stamp is called 'Kickin' by Penny Black, coloured with promarkers with extra stickles added on the glass and flowers. The yellow background paper is from a very old pad called Daffodil by K&Co, which I only found again last week...LOL!! The flowers are a mixture of Doodlebug, Sandylion and prima. The ribbons are from the Art of Craft, where I could have spent a fortune this weekend....

Party Giraffe

As well as being Father's day, today is also my husbands birthday, so a double celebration in our house. As Alex is quite tall (6ft 4"+) and I am much much shorter, he has always had the nick name of Giraffe and it has become something of a family tradition to get him cards/presents with a giraffe theme. Over the years, he has received an amazing amount of giraffe goodies! This image is one I saw on Dustin Pikes site ages ago and I knew it would be just perfect for this years card! It just makes me grin everytime I see it, I love the whole wacky idea of giraffes wearing party hats and blowing party tooters (not quite a vuvuzela, but I'm sure he could make a racket........)
The image is coloured with promarkers and the papers are from a Mat Stack by DCVW. I used the fab sketch over at Friday Sketchers but decided to change the bottom scalloped edge into party bunting - took a while but love the end result! Don't think it shows up too well on the piccy but the tooter, party hat, tie and bunting are all glittered up using gel pens.
I'd also like to enter this into the following challenges:
My Time to craft:Xtra special
Creative Craft Challenge: For the man in your life (or should that be Giraffe??)
One Stop Craft Challenge: One for the boys
Off to cook something nice for dinner now...Have a good evening!

Baby Boy

Evening all!! This afternoons card was inspired by the fab sketch by Sandie over at Stampin' for the weekend this week. The twist is to use yellow & blue, for some reason as soon as I read it, my brain thought baby boy cards...not sure why??? No one I know is even expecting!!!!

I loved this sketch and definately think I will use it again:

The image is called 'Baby elephant' by Crissy Armstrong, it's one of my all time fav digis, you can get it here. It's the first time I have coloured the little chap blue but I think it works. The challenge over at Sundays with Crissy is 'Relish to embellish' so unusually for me I have added lots of embellies after hunting through my stash - I think charms, ribbon, buttons and fabric embellies should be enough relish!!

Thanks for looking!!!

Ahoy shipmates!!

As soon as I read the pirate theme over at Simon says this week, I knew I wanted to enter as I had the perfect bear pirate from Pollycraft. He is called Cuthbert Yo Ho and you can find him here. After searching through my stash, I came to the conclusion that I must have used all my pirate themed scrapbook paper - disaster :-( . Not to be defeated though I googled pirate digi paper and found this fantastic set from The Creative Cottage called Little monkeys pirate adventure. I haven't used digital paper before, but I must say I could become a convert, I loved using this and somehow the thought that you can always print another sheet is reassuring if you make a cutting mistake ( I ususally make at least 1 cutting error per card!!). Image is coloured with promarkers, the plain paper is from the papermill shop, brads by Doodlebug and charm from Ebay. Pirate Cuthbert is entering the following challenges:
Simon says stamp: Pirate theme
Cute Card Thursday : Fantastic Sketch by Claudia
Pollycraft Monday Challenge: Let's have a sing song -
This has to be 'Sailing!' by Rod Stewart
PolkaDoodles: Father's Day/Male themed
Thanks for looking!!

Cheddar

Hello folks!
Strangely for me I made another 'masculine' card last night, I don't normally make that many but perhaps it is because Father's day is racing up! It also happens to be my husbands birthday on the 20th too, so a double celebration in our house!
The image is 'Cheddar' by Sugar Nellie and I used Basic Grey 'Archaic' papers, turquoise & cream card is from Paper Mill shop, brads by doodlebug and snaps by making memories, ribbons from stash. The chipboard corners and bar are also by Basic Grey (chipboard elements), they have been neglected in my stash for ages but I must say I quite like the chunky effect they bring to this card. I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
The Sugar Bowl : #36 Lilians sketch
BasicGrey challenges: Colour combo (brown, turqouise & cream)
C.R.A.F.T. : Father's day / Men
Totally Gorjuss: For the boys
Cupcake craft challenges: One for the Boys
Incy Wincy: One for the guys
Magical Crafts fortnightly: Something for a male
Cards for men: Father's day
Crafts & Me: Friends & family
Simple Doodles: Just 4 you Dad
PaperCutz challenge: Father's Day
Pear Tree Designs: Father's day
Our Creative corner: Gotcha cornered

Have a great evening!

Cuthbert says Thank you!!

Hi Folks!
I'd like you to meet Cuthbert, from Pollycraft, who has come along to send a thank you message to someone! The image is coloured with promarkers - no surprise! - and glittered up a bit with some stickles. Papers are from my stash, not sure about the green but I think the lilacs are Forever friends. Tags, bling and stickers all from stash, flowers are by Green tree and corner punch is from the Art of Craft. I used the sketch over at Lynne is In2Crafting but I decided it looked a bit 'empty', so inspired by the 'Gotcha cornered' challenge I read this morning at Our creative corner I added some punched corners. Colour combo of green, purple/lilac and white is this weeks challenge at Sketchy colours. I haven't tried lilac with green before but I must say I love it and it could become a new favourite!! Honestly where would I be without challenges to inspire me - LOL, it's not like I'm addicted is it!!! I'd also like to enter Cuthbert into these challenges too:
Creative card crew: Thank you!
Kaboodle : Recipe 3 papers, 2 embellishments (flowers & gems), 1 image
& "Just us Girls" Challenge: Let's get digital
Thanks for looking!

I've used Shelley the Sheep on my card - isn't she cute!! Coloured with promarkers, papers are Papermania Capsule collection and DCVW; ribbon, flowers and buttons are also from the capsule collection. I thought the yellow was quite jolly on such a dull day!

Anniversary Heart

Hello again! I've decided that reading my blog must be like waiting at a bus stop, nothing for ages and then 2 posts in one day - LOL!!

I found this Prima stamp again while I was tidying up earlier. I bought it last year and it is one of my favourites. I need an anniversary card for later this month, so somehow the tidying got forgotten, as I decided to make a quick card. Have to say though, that heat embossing in this afternoons heat wasn't perhaps my best plan!! I put an eyelet in the top of the image and threaded a ribbon through so that the heart swings on the red & black glitter card mount. Popped a gem in the centre and the little corner pieces are the bits left over from when using a corner punch!! It looked a bit stark when I just mounted it onto a plain white card so I added a strip of ribbon and a peel off sentiment (haven't used those in ages !!)
As usual I couldn't make a card without entering it into a few challenges (Lol - yes I am addicted!):
The Shabby Tea Rooms: Dear to my heart
Crafty creations challenges : Black, white & a splash of red
Crafty Catz : Red & black
A spoonful of sugar: Celebration card
Polka Doodles: Modern / retro Anniversary
Stamptacular Sunday challenge: I do, I do, I do...

Relax.....

Morning All, Hope you are having a nice relaxing Sunday!!

I'm flying by the seat of my pants again to get my card into a few challenges before they close! I finished this last night but had to wait until this morning to get some piccys. This is my first attempt at a Joy Fold card. I'd never heard of them until I read the challenge on Squigglefly this week. The tutorial here on Split coast stampers is great, tricky bit is trying to get decent pics!! The digi stamp is called 'Forgiven' by Crissy Armstrong at Squigglefly. I like the way the card has come out & I am also impressed that I managed to find the right pawprint button in my disaster zone of a crafting area ...lol. Papers are Basic Grey Archaic.
I think I might send this one to my Dad for Father's day, he doesn't 'do' football, golf, gardening etc so I think this might fit the bill. I'd like to enter him in the following challenges:

Squigglefly : Joy fold card
Stamp something: Use a digi
Totally Papercrafts: More than 1 fold
Simon Says Stamp: Father's Day / male card
Crafts and me: Distressed ( I Sponged the cream card backgound nestie
behind the image and also the edges of the papers)

Thanks for looking - think I had better go and tidy up a bit!!
