California really is becoming a dystopia

Where's Snake Plisskin when you need him?

Ace continues his wall-to-wall coverage.

Political trial fortunately does not yield political prisoner

"Juan Merchan Sentences Trump to Unconditional Discharge: No Penalty, Conviction Upheld".

I wish we could pack this crooked judge back to Colombia, but there's no way I can see. Let's pray that, the next time the judge visits the old country, some zealous person doesn't find a way to deliver to him (and demonstrate the use of) what, back in the Cocaine Cowboy days in Miami, used to be known as a "Colombian rosary". A kind of...necklace.

That would be a terrible thing to imagine. Not that I've been imagining it, you understand.

Happy Feet Friday

Marion Hutton - Betty's sister, and an accomplished singer in her own right - sings "No Bout Adoubt It" (from the 1944 Abbott and Costello movie, In Society).

Isn't today the day we celebrate observe Jimmy Carter's passing?

I think he's going to be buried in Plains, Georgia after he lies in state in Washington. I want cameras and news crews there to document that he's actually put in the ground.

I still don't trust him.

The DEI chickens come home to roost

DEI has sure caught fire in LA and environs: "Prepare to Be Shocked: Los Angeles' Fire Chief Is a DEI-Obsessed 'LGBTQ' Woman Who Wasted Millions".

Let me toss something out there, with respect to the LGBTQ activists who get promoted to senior bureaucratic positions like this: is it mostly just the uniforms and visored military caps that appeal? The gold braid? The opportunity for people of similar persuasion to assemble in large groups? Then how about you simply form a fraternity (or sorority, as the case may be), and buy some old surplus military uniforms and get together at your lodge every first Tuesday of the month for fellowship, using the secret handshake, holding corny initiation rites for new members, etc.?

Or, you could live that part of your life without parading it in front of everybody and trying to compel submission to your lifestyle, and demonstrate genuine, experience- and skill-focused merit in your career pursuits and hiring decisions. How would that be?

About time

"We need a 'Marshall moment' to reform the military’s leadership selection system — before it's too late".

Didn't know this:

First, most Americans do not realize that the competitive promotion board system for our military, as defined by law, ends after two-star selection. All three and four-star officers are thus political appointees — in every sense. No selection board convenes to nominate them to the Secretary, President, or Congress.

Duh!!!

The stupidest thing I have heard anybody say this week (so far). This is Brian Mann, NPR's...checks notes...first "national addiction" correspondent, and all around talking (air) head.

"Traditional journalism" gave us:

Trump's collusion with Russia

2020 was a completely clean election

Listen to the government on COVID

J6 protestors as insurrectionists

Biden is "sharp and focused"

Kamala Harris's presidential campaign is fueled by "joy"

Whereas honest social media outlets called the mainstream media out on all of these positions, and a host of others, because, as should now be clear to the meanest intelligence, they were all lies and left-wing propaganda.
