training phrase have come to an end for yueshan and she's now at her changi posting where she will spend the next 1plus to 2 years buried beneath mountains of papers, computer data and financial analysis, just to name a few. =(

i know it's normal/common and stuff but it breaks my heart to see her so stressed and tired after work.

as my tutor puts it nicely for us, "when they pay you, they want your blood."

it's tough for her, especialy now that she's still trying to find her footing within the organisation. i can only pray that things take a turn for the better soon! jiayou yeah miss credit suisse! =)

the things she have been saying about her work and career advancement scares/overwhelms me (and her as well, i would guess..). perhaps it's too early to be thinking way ahead of the present, we shall take things one baby step at a time.

anyway, her working at changi means that i wouldnt be able to accompany her on her rides home (there's a company chartered bus to send her back) like we did when she was at One Raffles Quay.

still, it's a nice feeling to be able to steal a (few) hour(s) of our time to spend together (sometimes) amidst our busy schedules (hers work, mine study/part-time work) no matter how short it is.

oh, did i mention i managed to win the ballot for the actual day national day parade tickets with yueshan's name? ;)

i must have asked for at least 20 NRIC numbers from friends and family in the bid to win those prized tickets! thankfully, my efforts paid off handsomely! 

i wanted to keep this a secret from her and surprise her on the actual day itself but the excitement was too much for me to handle alone! HAHAHA! 

it'll be our getaway, albeit a temporal one, for this period!

i just attended the 2nd convocation of my life, the first being my dearest sister's and today's belong to none other than yueshan. 

i revisited the feelings i felt 2years back: 

insanely bored during the ceremonies but intensely proud of her!

really!

my chest literally swelled with pride (though others might argue it's from the fried food and the lack of training) the moment she got on the stage to receive her degree from this particular old man (who happens to be one of the richest man in singapore, the CEO of OCBC, whateverhisnameis). even though i wasn't a passenger in yueshan's university life the whole way through, i'm glad to play a part during the closing stages. =) 

i'm happy and proud of her!

today is, also, an important day for us. 27th july marks the 8th month we've been together! =) 8months is a short time compared to the decades spent together for a married couple. if this 8months were a glimpse of the days ahead, the future promises so much more for us!

now that she have shaken off the shackles of the education system, it's a dive right into the deep end of the corporate world. the difference in the pace of our respective lives will bring about changes and challenges to our relationship, but the best we could do will be to take one step at a time while keeping an eye on our eventual destination and goals together. =)

i will never take weekends for granted anymore

the assignments at school seemed to be endless. and it kinda sucks that the lecturers haven't been kind to me when it comes to grading despite my earnest efforts. oh well.. suck it up and move on yeah.

more projects and assignments coming right up. it can get rather suffocating when assignments and projects never ends. perhaps i can take comfort in the fact that it is a whole lot worse for people around me who are dealing with worse within the workforce..

alright, got to cheong hard to the rest of the semester! i'll be cutting down on my work days and hopefully, have some spare time to train too! and of course, have some time with her whenever both of us can. =)

it's been a week since yueshan started work at Credit Suisse and, as expected, time spent together are much shorter and further in between.. i have been accompanying her back and havin dinners at her place so that, despite not going on dates, we can still be in the company of each other at the very least.

i miss nua-ing.

it's the time of the year again.

16th-26th july.

this is an important timeframe for me.

it's the time where i will sign up for the singapore standard chartered maathon 2009.

it's not a matter of will i or not.

it's a matter of my targeted timing this year.

last year i did it in 4hours 24mins.

i doubt i can better my timing this year. 

tentatively, i'll be aiming for sub 4.30 once again.

time to put in some solid miles soon.

and to lay my hands on some quality arsenal for my runs. *GRINS*

and like last year, it's a great feeling knowing that i'll be chauffeured yueshan will be waiting for me at the end point!

i wonder who's going this time round... Are You? =)

thanks to those who've shown your concern, fana, weeling, manda and v, it's very much appreciated by me!

compromises, understanding and readjustments of expectations are required throughout the course of a relationship. 

ultimately i know that at the end of the day, no matter how peeved we are at each other, things just get better after a hug.

and to love someone, you have to deal with every obstacles that blocks a common goal of your union. 

more often than not, we fight the obstacles at the expense of our partners.

retail therapy at its best

i splash a total of $100-odd yesterday on a single shopping trip on my own! a minute amount for most, girls especially, but it's almost 20-30% of my monthly paycheck! =s

half of which is spent on school-related necessities; mouse (yeah, the old one gave up after it was dropped the 18725492735th time) and thumbdrive. the other half is spend on 2 pairs of adidas shorts; a good buy considering i'm wearing short 97% of the time and my old ones have been serving me since NS, or is it JC, days! =x

i see so many things i want but the lack of a stable income meant that such luxuries will have to wait. it's always important to differentiate wants from needs.

also, i've made a decision to work less and put in more effort into my studies.

as i see the last of my 2-weeks holidays, it also means that school is starting. in about 2days no less. it's scary how the 2 week break just flew past me. yueshan and myself managed to spend some quality time together

we know that once she starts work and i start school, we might not be able to enjoy such luxuries of spending the entire day doing nothing and everything together.

i'm going to enjoy it as much and as long as i can. as we can. =)
