4 Years and 39 Weeks

Today, Ross and I celebrate our 4 year anniversary! I can't believe that we've been married for four years - they truly have been the best 4 years of my life! I can't wait to spend the rest of my years with him. We had a less than an extravagant celebration this year seeing as we've got a baby about to pop! In memory of the last four years, here are some photos of each year :)

We're Engaged!!!

We're Married! The only photo I have of Ross and I at our wedding

Honeymoon...mmmmm Kauai

Anniversary 1. Back to the spot where we said "I DO"

Anniversary 2. Camping at Lost Lake

Anniversary 3. Out 'n' About

And this year, we went to the Ships Tavern at the Brown Palace for dinner. This is where Ross and I had dinner the evening we were engaged and it was such a beautiful day then and a beautiful one now! The food was, as expected, amazing and we had fun getting dressed up and enjoying Ross and Heidi time before baby joins the ranks.

We didn't expect to see the Crayola Gang at dinner:

In other news:
I'm 39 weeks today. Baby O is expected to join us a week from today. This whole pregnancy I have had a gut feeling that he would arrive early. Here, beginning my 40th week, I'm not so sure how accurate my gut feeling is. Though I don't think I have to explain why I hope I'm right :) Ross is beginning to get kind of antsy. Today, he started to force feed me spicy foods and wanted me to drive around town looking for the most bumpy of roads. For the first time in a few weeks, I'm feeling like "it'll happen when it happens" and not getting so frustrated about the whole thing.
Overall, I'm so excited to meet this little man and have him at home with us! Hopefully it won't be too much longer!

Are we there yet?

So I'm 37 weeks and 6 days as of today:

So let's just call it 38 weeks shall we? Ok, I'm good with that too. Things have been going rather well this last week or so. I'm thoroughly enjoying working just from home. Although I have to say I feel a bit guilty when I wake up and realize that a good majority of the morning is gone; Ross has been at work for a while and I've been totally unproductive! But the extra sleep has been really nice! I am finding myself less irritable (as less irritable as a 9 month pregnant woman can be). I think the baby has dropped - you might notice a slight change in the shape/situation of my "bump"...I see a slight difference but mostly I notice that I can breathe so much more easily and I don't get as full as quickly. Oh right, and all those trips to the bathroom that I've mentioned before, are still in full swing.
I got some red raspberry leaf tea this weekend. I have so many Braxton Hicks contractions and so I thought that maybe this would help move things in the right direction. I think it's been doing its job; the contractions that I have had are much stronger.

We had a nice weekend. We had dinner with the in-laws on Friday night and then went to a going away party for a dear friend. Saturday we ran some errands, and spent some time with some good friends seeing a movie and going to dinner. On Sunday we visited my Mom's house for a pseudo graduation party for my brother who graduated college about 2 months ago! All in all it was a great weekend :)

Not much else to report. A week from tomorrow is Ross and my 4 year anniversary! Wow what time has passed! Hopefully we'll have a nice celebration that I can blog about next week.

Real Life Baby Theme

Well another week (plus a little) has passed! We are that much closer to the arrival of Baby O! I am becoming so anxious to meet him. What does he look like? Will he have a lot of hair? What will his feet look like? Who is this person who I have been hanging out with for the last 9 months? I cannot wait for Ross to see him, hold him and just be with him. It makes me tear up to think of them together. Ross is going to be such an amazing dad and I am so excited to see their relationship unfold!

I hope to meet this little guy as soon as possible! Whenever he's ready, I'm ready! (but let's be honest, the sooner, the better) This last week has brought some serious changes to my 3rd trimester experience. I have had 1-3 contractions every day for the last week. They make themselves known but I imagine are pretty low key compared to how they will get. I have been particularly uncomfortable. Baby O has a foot almost permanently lodged in my lower right rib which is not very comfortable of course. I make at least 5-7 bathroom trips per night; on the positive side, I've only stubbed my toe once while walking to the throne in pitch black! My maternity clothes are getting too small. I really can't see my feet anymore. Applying lotion to my legs is particularly difficult but still possible.
The positives: I am incredibly lucky to say that I have not yet had any swelling! No stretch marks yet! I can still walk a few miles a day with Ross!
Here's a cute photo opp on one of our evening walks:

We love our evening walks! Such a nice time to chat and just debrief the day. Helps me feel not so cooped up since I'm working completely from home these days. Plus walking is always good to help Baby get where he's supposed to be.

I had an appointment yesterday and I saw a midwife because the doctor was really behind. She was AMAZING! My experience with her reminded me so much of my experience with my doctor in Grand Junction (he is still very missed). I felt so comfortable with her and just thoroughly enjoyed it! She also let me know that I'm already 50% effaced! WOOT! Not that this means I'm going to deliver tomorrow, but I'm glad to know that the contractions I've had are working and making progress. Goooo Uterus!!

We had a wonderfully busy weekend. We met with our lovely Doula on Sunday; we went over the birth plan and just overall had a nice chat. I'm so excited to have her guide us through our labor. I think her presence along with the midwives will really help create a great atmosphere for Ross and I and hopefully help us to have a great experience! Then Ross and I went to the Zoo! It was a Real Life version of Baby O's Room. Here are the fun pics!!!

Ha!

This is how I feel most days

This giraffe loved to lick the bricks...huh.

This snow leopard is sleeping just like our friendly Hannibal-Sam

This was just cute because we had just watched the Lion King the night before

Ross and Heidi Weekends

So, I've been so bad about posting on here that this is the 2nd of 2 posts I'm putting up in one day! I'll try to be better but what can I say...there's so much going on!!

Ross and I will celebrate our 4 year anniversary this month! I can't believe how time has flown! This will be the last month that he and I have with just the two of us (and the kitties of course) for a l...o...n...g time. So, we've decided to have something that just he and I do each weekend to make sure that we get some good time in before Baby O joins the family in full force.

This weekend is of course a holiday weekend so whatever we chose to do we knew would be crowded! But we pushed through...

We started at the Longmont Farmers Market. We got some tasty Asiago Cheese Bread and a huge bag full of veggies. This vegetable stand would let you fill a bag with whatever you chose for $7 - it was an amazing deal! I felt kind of bad that the gal next to me paid $5 for a clump of asparagus when I fit one into my $7 bag! Then we stopped at a local restaurant's tent and had a wood fire pizza - mmmmm, sooo delicious!
Then, we headed up to Estes Park. It's only about a 30-40 minute drive from Longmont and has such beautiful scenery. We walked around the lake and then walked up and down the Riverwalk Shops. It was a gorgeous day and we just had such a nice time!

The flowers I wish I had the skill to have!

We really did have a wonderful time! I can't wait for our weekends to come!
Here's the latest belly picture if you didn't get enough of them already. Baby O's room is coming together nicely. I've had some great help from my friend Becca who has double experience with babies. She's been such a help! We just have a few more things to get ready (my bag for the hospital and the baby monitor) and we'll be pretty much set! Only four more weeks until Baby O joins this family and I'm excited to meet him!  35 weeks, 4 days...

Baby Shower!

I had a wonderful Baby Shower. My darling friend Jessica threw the shower for me - she also threw my Bridal Shower so it seemed rather appropriate. But it really was beautiful accompanied by wonderful friends! I can't believe how generous people were with gifts! This baby sure will have some amazing stuff! Overall, it was great to see everyone and I wish I could have spent more time with everyone individually! Here are some pictures :)
