A visit with our GREAT Aunt
On the Saturday after Christmas, Boom and I decided that we needed to take a ride to Ogden to see our Aunt Fae. We were so glad that we made the trek to see her. She is still feisty as ever and has the spunk that we remember and love about her. She still lives alone, but her daughter and son in law are close by at all times. We are so grateful for the good heritage that Boom and I have and we cherish the memories that we have of all those that have gone before us. We were able to visit for a while with Burt and Carol as well, and are grateful to them for their countless and thankless hours of service to their Mom. Even though Aunt Fae's short term memory is fading, we felt honored that she still remembers who we are, that family is the most important, and that she loves us and was grateful for our visit.

Snow shoveling neighbors!
On the day after Christmas, we caught these two shoveling out of the major snow storm that we had.....in their pajama's! I guess great minds think alike. They proceeded to help each other shovel walks, work on cars that the batteries were dead, and pump up flat tires, all in their pajamas. It was a busy morning, but I think it went faster for both of them because they had each other. We are grateful for great neighbors, that would do anything for us......even in their pajamas!

Whittaker Christmas Day Festivities!
We had our Whittaker Christmas Get-together at our house this year. Despite the heavy snows, we were all able to be together, except for Shea. However, everyone was able to say hello to her while we were having our Christmas phone call. We ate, visited, played games, Rock Band, and enjoed being together. Cari led us in a "Sock/Sack" Christmas Story game in honor of our Uncle Howard. Annie gave us all a wrapped book and had us tell something that we loved about the person whose gift we had. It was fun to listen to everyone express how much they loved each other. We also played a picture game. I gave everyone a wrapped picture and they each had to open theirs (Oldest to Youngest) and tell an experience or memory that they have had with the people in the picture. Yes, we have had some fun times! Even though we no longer have the Matriarch of our family with us, she will forever be in our hearts and memories!

Christmas Day....let's celebrate!
Yes....all the work and time it takes to get ready for the big day and BOOM! 5 minutes and it's over! However, it was a great day filled with time spent together, 2 1/2 hours of talking to our favorite missionary, shoveling the snow that again dumped in our front yard, and remembering the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. I have to say that it was a day to remember and one well worth it!

Christmas Eve with the Bogh's
We spent a traditional Christmas Eve at my parents this year and we were so glad that it wasn't in a waiting room, where we spent last Christmas Eve. We had an awesome dinner prepared by my Mom, and of course the presentation was FABULOUS!! We delivered baskets to some special people in our lives and sang Christmas Carols. Even Todd sang, softly....but he did sing! We opened presents together and enjoyed giving to each other. Jordyn and Devyn decided that it was time for Pop and Gege to be in the pajama picture, so they made them their own jammy pants! They did a great job and had a blast making them together. We capped off the evening with a picture together by the fire place....another tradition. We love them!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
Merry Christmas to all from our house to yours! We are so grateful for this holiday season that we can be in touch with those we love. We hope that your holiday season is all that you want it to be, and realize that you are loved. We are so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ and for all that He gave for us. May you remember Him this season and throughout the year! We are so blessed and appreciate all that so many have done for us! Merry Christmas!

Sledding, like the Good Old Days!
Remember the good old days when we had snow storms like this all winter? I remember sledding for hours during the winter. Remember bizzing behind cars in the church parking lot? Well last night, Boomer pulled the kids behind the jeep on sleds and they had a blast! The roads in our neighborhood are snowpacked and perfect for sledding. I am glad however, that Boomer didn't suggest bizzing. Just a little more dangerous! We recalled the last time that Boom pulled the kids behind our truck and Jordy was probably 6, and he launched she and Dani onto a cement driveway that wasn't snow packed. She said she remembered that it didn't hurt but that Boomer was so scared that he'd killed her. He was more careful last night and the kids had a great time. Jensen had to changed his clothes because he was so covered in snow and couldn't keep his pants up. Let's just say he was very cold. I enjoyed listening to them sing as they went around the block and hearing Jordy giggle clear down the street. It was a fun Family Night and one that we will remember for a long time.
With Snow Storms comes Work and Play!
Monday brought a huge snowstorm to the Utah Valley. I think we had over a foot of snow. But with a snowstorm of this size, comes lots of work along with play. Boomer and Jensen shoveled our walks and driveway for 1 1/2 hour because it was so deep. A neighbor came to their rescue with his snowblower, which was so nice! Jensen enjoyed playing in the snow with our dog Tagg. Jensen was laughing because he would throw a snow ball and Tagg couldn't find it. We all love the snow and realize that without it, we can't boat in the summer.

Yes, Virginia! Christmas can begin!
Due to the last few days of winter storms, we have enough snow on the ground that Christmas can officially begin. It just isn't Christmas without the fluffy white stuff covering the ground. Easton and his best pal Jake enjoyed the snow today as the sledded on their own kid-made hill(which wasn't much of a hill). They had a blast playing in it, on it, and getting it in their clothes! Needless to say after it was inside their clothes, they were inside as well! It was fun while it lasted. Enjoy the snow as well, while it lasts!
