oliver and s

I'm so excited!  I received my patterns in the mail last week from Oliver+S to make dresses for my girls. ("my girls"  I can't believe I'm saying that!)  They are the cutest patterns ever!  I bought two!  (I was feeling ambitious.)  I've never done something like this so it will be fun!  On Saturday I was able to dash out to one of my favorite fabric stores (Elaine's Quilt Block) and pick out the fabric.  Or "material" as my sister called it.   Don't remember the last time I've ever heard that word.  Anyway,  I can't wait to get started!  I love a good craft project and I can't seem to take my time in doing it.  I usually stop everything until it's done!  Not great when you have a house, husband and kids that depend on you.  Maybe this time I will pace myself.

Here is how the patterns arrived in the mail

So cute! That candy cane tie? So vintage!

And here is the fabric I've chosen for the Tea Party Sundress

It's all about the fabric selection!  I have a couple of fun ideas for the details on this. Hopefully I made some good decisions on choosing the fabric.  Luckily I was able to pick out the fabric without breaking out into hives! (my new discovery of post partum, anxiety! eek!)

George Washington

Cole's favorite song he's learned from school.  He told me he could sing it "everyday".  He discovered burping and is constantly looking for ways to throw in a burp.  He thinks he's so funny but it drives me CRAZY!!  Luckily, he's toned it down some but thought It would be funny to add it to this song.   He always is trying to "trick" me.

Kitchen Gadgets

My bloggin' buddy Kami posted her favorite kitchen gadgets the other day. So I thought I'd share one of mine. Everyone who knows me, knows I have a love for making sugar cookies! I found these at Sur La Table. For some reason they don't sell these on their website. But if you wanted to shop online, I found them at Amazon. I use the green rubber band on my roller and roll out refrigerated dough for a perfectly even cookie! Everyone thinks they are store bought!

What's your favorite kitchen gadget?

Boys will be Boys!

During Sadie's birthday party last Saturday at the park, Cole took it upon himself to do this.....

How embarrassing!! I promise I didn't teach him that!! But at least he had a great view!

Hoppy Easter!

A big thanks to Kevin for "forgetting" his Sunday clothes and razor! I've only talked about the event, weekend, Easter dresses, Easter clothes, baskets , St. George etc... for two weeks!!It was great to spend some time with family over this holiday. We had a Easter egg hunt and lunch at my adorable grandma's house. She had the perfect setting with a stream in her backyard. The kids just loved it! I love watching and taking pictures of the kids hunting for eggs in their adorable Easter clothes. Cole was fascinated with throwing a plastic egg at the top of the stream (more like a extremely slow river) and then running all the way to the end to catch it.  Not one of my grandma's favorite games for the kids, (she gets worried) but it kept him entertained for quite sometime.  She had these giant eggs in her front yard which made a cute background for some fun Easter pics.

Birthday time and time for a Party!

For the Easter/Spring Break weekend, we decided to go to St. George to enjoy the good weather. Unfortunately with Easter being in March (why does that happen? anybody know?) and Sadie's birthday party being the day before, we had one crazy weekend! We went to a great park near my parents house in Coral Canyon. Not realizing the great location of the park would be a little windy (being on a ridge) it felt a little cooler there than a normal St. George spring. Sadie had to wear a jacket the whole time not showing off her cute new shirt. But, hey, she still looked adorable! She loved her new outfit and hat and wore it all day. Leading up to the event, she would layout the outfit on the floor to look at with excitement! And she loved her princess cake! My second attempt on a birthday cake. (I think I'm on to a new passion!) It was pretty fun and yummy!! I can't believe she's 3! She's such a happy spirit. She's such a joy to have around. Just hopping, singing, dancing and chatting her way through the house. We all just love her to pieces!

"Sew" Crazy!

So in planning Sadie's Birthday party, I've gone nuts!! I thought of making a party hat for her covering the hat in cupcake fabric. Well, when I got to the fabric store and saw how cute this cupcake fabric was, it came to me to make a matching birthday outfit! I know, I'm a little over the top! It was so easy! Honestly! I did it during her nap and used a $5.00 shirt from target. It turned out so cute and she can't wait to wear it!

Project Birthday!

With great inspiration from a friend, I've finnally made my family a Happy Birthday banner. I got a little carried away at the fabric store and bought lots of busy bright fabric. It's a little busy(like my blog) but I think it turned out cute. I'm waiting on the red pom pom fringe to come from jcaroline to add to the bottom of the letters. I can't find any around town. The only problem with this new cute HUGE banner is that I can't seem to find the right place for it. Luckily it's finished just in time for Sadie's birthday on friday! She's so excited!!

Speed test

My cousin posted this on her blog. I'm having way too much fun trying to get a high score! For my first try, I had Cole pulling on my elbow most of the time trying to get me to come somewhere and I scored a whoppn' 32. Not bad for the distraction. Let's just say I'm skilled at what I do. A mother/blogger.

Attention Blogger Addicts!

Have you seen this new memory card? Eye-FI. It's a wireless memory card that automatically uploads your pictures as soon as you get home near your network!  How easy is that?  Darn!  Another item to add to my lengthy wish list!

Spring Fever

Isn't this the cutest?  Seeing this makes me so excited for the up coming months!  Wouldn't it be the ultimate DREAM to have one of these T@B trailers to just take off with the family for the weekend?  It would be close quarters but I think it would be fun!  It has a queen size bed, kitchen, heater and a/c.  It can even fit in your garage!  What more do you need?  There's also a slightly bigger one with a bathroom.  Sounds like I need a new savings plan!

Get Motivated!

I want a clean house all the time!  Is it possible?  For me?  With kids?  Probably not.  But I'd like to at least give it a try for maybe most of the time.  I was raised on check lists and chore charts and I am finally realizing that I might need a chore chart to help me get motivated (am I still a kid? I might even go get me some stickers to use as I pass things off). I've always had a tentative schedule in my head and cleaned as needed. But that doesn't seem like it's working too well for me anymore. I get behind especially now with three kids and it's driving me CRAZY!  So hopefully I can stick with it. To create my chore chart, I wrote down all the things I'd like to get done on a regular basis. I put them into categories of daily, once a week or twice a week. Then I plugged them into to my week according to my schedule of life. This way, I can hopefully get all the things done I need with only a little bit of time each day. What do you think?  Am I nuts?  Can I be successful at this? If you'd like to see my chore chart click here.
Please feel free to give me any advice or tips you may have to help me stay motivated!  Wish me luck!

Crisp Berry

The beautiful aroma of my home today is Crisp Berry. After a poor attempt to find an aroma of lysol I could tolerate, sadly it now fills my lungs and I can no longer detect it. Two of the five are down today with the stomach flew! Yuck! Surprisingly, they both can make it to a bowl for minimal clean up! Being the germaphobe I am, I follow them with anti bacterial and hand sanitizer. But even with all my efforts, I'll probably get it too. But it's worth a try. I went and rented the kids some movies like my mom used to do and set up camp in the front room. It's been a very quiet day. I've rediscovered what the word silence means. Between movies and frequent napping, I have found plenty of time for blogging. TIVO? What's that? It's called blogging. I found this on a fun blog

You Know You're a Blogger If....

1. You take pictures of greasy food and strange men at the fair.
2. You are an Accountant in Afghanistan or some of your friends are.
3. You have posted pictures of your child either naked in the bath,
on the toilet or their blow out - I am about to join you.
4. You plan fun things to do just to blog about them.
5. You spend more time on google reader than you do reading to your kids.
6. You have made friends with someone that you have never met.
7. You are constantly giving a title to all the activities in your life!
8. You see people at the grocery store looking at you
and you wonder if they know what you did last weekend.
9. You put a smiley face after everything you say
10. You have reconnected with old friends.
11. You take a ton more pictures than you did before.
12. You hesitate to leave a comment because it will be
time stamped at 11:27 p.m. or later. (Is it just me?)
13. You have been tagged or you tagged yourself because you
love any opportunity to tell weird stuff about yourself rather
than just weird stuff about your kids.
14. Your average mundane life is so much cooler online.
15. You are reading this.

Or you are a blog stalker! (C'mon, come join us, you know you want to.)

Ha! So sad so true!

I came out of my room where I've been quarantine Maryjane and found them like this. Can you say lethargic? Two men down! The poor things! Hopefully week can kick this soon!

So very Blessed!

We blessed Maryjane today! Kevin gave a beautiful blessing. She was an angel and slept the whole day in every ones arms. Not a peep! If I could only have a permanent baby holder with me at all times! I was so very frustrated! I had purchased a cute hair bow for Maryjane for this very day. I turned the house upside down and could not find it!! So we had to use an old one of Sadie's. Roar!! None the less, she still looked adorable!! I'm sure I'll stumble upon it tomorrow.
Maryjane has been such a sweet baby! I just love her to pieces!! I feel so blessed! Here are some pictures of the fun day!

That was easy!!

After a couple different attempts to potty train Sadie, I decided to just wait until she was ready. Honestly, I just kept putting it off having little motivation with a new baby. But this last week she woke up from her nap and I suggested she should try the potty. And with great success, and a few dollar store prizes, the rest is history! She's potty trained! It's been about 7 days and she's had only 2 accidents. She just gets it! Lucky me! I'm now a firm believer in the "wait til their ready" method! She turns 3 in 3 weeks!

Sadie in a baby tee that Kevin's dad used to give out when he'd deliver babies. Once again, It fits!!
