Thanksgiving 2006

We had a great Thanksgiving this year! Kendahl's parents came and we had a fun weekend together!
The kids had fun making Oreo Turkeys for their friends!
Kenna didn't get any turkey... but is learning to like rice cereal. The first time she ate it, though, she didn't like it at all. In fact, she made sure to let us know that her gag reflex works extremely well!

Sitting down to eat the turkey. It was delicious!

We played games ALL weekend long. Here we are playing "Settlers of Catan" (the best game ever!) We beat Kendahl 3 of the 4 times we played. Sorry Kendahl!
And, of course, we took a few naps!

Trampoline!

Santa came early this year! A brand new trampoline came via the Fed Ex truck and the kids were super excited. Although, Konnor was unhappy when the truck drove up and a lady got out. "That's not Santa... that's a LADY!" But he quickly forgave Santa for not delivering the trampoline personally. Grandpa Johnson helped us put it together and the kids have been jumping and having fun ever since!

Halloween

This year for Halloween, I did the cheap thing and found the box of Halloween costumes and opened it up and told the kids to pick something out. Kaylee chose to be a princess (surprise, surprise) and of course needed some make-up. Konnor was a lion - complete with sound effects (just like last year!) Kenna was a pumpkin - a tradition (all three kids have worn the same pumpkin costume their first Halloween). We went trick-or-treating with our new neighbors. They have a little girl, who is Konnor's age, and also a little baby who is Kenna's age. The kids came home, dumped out their candy and started chowing down. Actually, they got three pieces each and then went to bed. They surprisingly haven't asked me for it too often - so the little bit they got has lasted longer than I thought it would!

Moving in to our new house!

The big day we've been waiting for finally arrived the day before Halloween. Kaylee went off to school and the rest of us waited for the big truck to come with all of our stuff that had been in storage for the past two months. Konnor enjoyed watching the men bring everything into the house - and was excited when he found toys he thought were gone forever. We are now unpacking the mountain of boxes they brought... and once they are empty, have been stacking them up high by the front door. Only a few things (so far) were lost or broken. All in all, it's been great getting everything unpacked and we are getting settled!

Painting bedrooms

Before we moved into our house, we needed to paint the bedrooms. The master bedroom was a deep lavender color (Kendahl said he refused to sleep in a room that was lavender), so we painted it a pretty sage color (see picture below). Kaylee and Kenna's room a dark brown - so I wanted to make it a little more girly - so we painted it a light pink. Kendahl's parents helped us paint - and we are indebted to them for the help they gave us so we could get it done before the moving truck delivered all of our stuff! These are the before and after pictures! It is amazing how paint color changes the entire look of the room!
