I am a bit slow at posting this month! It is a rare moment that I have time to sit down and just play on the computer!
School was out over a week ago. I felt like I was ready for it this year! We got the kids out a little early their last day, which is a joke anyway, they do NOTHING. But, when I went to pick up Big Dog he got all teary-eyed and said he wanted to stay...crazy since the reason we were leaving was to get to Utah for his baseball tourney! Bayli was a bit sad also because her teacher is moving and Bayli goes to a different school for 5th grade anyway, but they both had a great year!
We spent Memorial Day weekend in Orem for our tourney, which is nice because a lot of my family lives there. Friday night we had a double-header and my mom offered to keep my kids, so I got to go and actually enjoy two games without interruptions! It was great!
We came home Sunday and brought my niece, Emma home while Sissy Boo stayed to play with Emma's sister, Haili. Emma is 7 and so is our good friend (and neighbor's) daughter. She was here for the week and had such a great time with Ally! She was such a sweetheart and made me miss S.B. at that age! I had so much fun doing her hair (she is a red-head with shoulder-length hair). I really loved having a "little girl" to hang out with. S.B. is such the pre-teen now. I didn't realize it until this week how much she is growing up:(
Big Dog is improving tremendously with his catching skills! He is amazing at age 8. He is our main catcher and can stop his dad's fastest ball. I am very proud of him. He has worked so hard and become a team leader (even though he is the youngest on the team). He is just eating it up! He loves baseball. We only have two more weekends of it though and then we get to play!
My whole family is going to California in a couple weeks to stay for a week in a beach house. We are really looking forward to that. The kids just love to play with their cousins and I really have a great time with my siblings, some of whom I only see once or twice a year!
I hope the weather gets warmer now that Summer is officially here! We have big plans, and need cooperation from the Sun to make them happen...

Peanut
I decided to take a minute and add an update on Peanut. We have people asking us all the time about the status of his health and what is going on.
As of now, Peanut's kidneys are still stable. They function at 20%, and have since birth. He is actually doing better than the doctors expected. They predicted that around age 2 he would have a transplant, well, he is now almost 6 and hasn't had to have his transplant yet!
He still does not eat real food. He is fed through his G-tube three cans of a special milk made just for kidneys each day. He loves to eat chips and will actully chew them and swallow them most of the time. He also really loves vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips or candy bars, cereal, cheese crackers, fudge-stripe cookies, "Pepsi" (any pop is Pepsi), and water. That about sums up his diet! He doesn't eat anything that could sustain him, thus the feeding tube and the special formula.
He is on several daily medications, including a weekly injection that hurts like a bugger! The injection is the worst part of all we have to do because it is painful! He gets labs done each month and literally just sits there without having to be held while they poke his arm. He is really a tough kid!
He acts very normal and most people don't have a clue that he has anything wrong! He is smaller in stature and also a little delayed in the fine motor skills, language, and learning. He attended a developmental pre-school this past year and did really well. He is ready for Kindergarten this Fall, we will see if they are ready for him!
We just take it a day at a time with his kidneys. They could go at any time, and when they do, he will have to have a transplant. We just keep praying that it is not sooner than later and that his original kidneys will hold out as long as they possibly can! They don't put children on the list to recieve a kidney until they are at failure because kids get to go on the top of the list and they usually find a donor pretty quickly.
So, that is the update on P. and his condition. We feel blessed to have this challenge and not something harder. I know that Heavenly Father is aware of all that we have had to go through with this little guy and we have had many prayers answered on his behalf.

Summer is Coming...
Okay, only one week and 1/2 left of school! YIKES!! I don't know if I am ready or not. I have come up with a few ideas that I hope will help my kids stay in control this summer!
Each day I post a nap sign on the front door when Sweet Pea goes down for her nap. So far, it works great as the doorbell does not get rung and she stays asleep for her entire nap! YES!!
I also have our little "busy bees" which go on the door when the kids get home from school and until they have finished their after-school chores. This is also working pretty well so far.
I made our Summer chart to hang on the wall in the dining room. We are going to still get up at the same time each day and have scripture study and breakfast as a family before Matt heads off to work. Our evenings are sooo jam-packed that family dinner times are few and far between. We have been doing this already before school, so we should be able to keep it up, I hope! I may get lazy and decide to bump the time back a bit before the Summer ends, but we will try our best!
I have a theme for each day; Monday is money day and the only day the kids can do extra jobs to earn money--no allowance this summer. Tuesday is Travel/art day. We will go somewhere fun every other week and do a fun art project the other two weeks of the month. Wednesday is water day. We will do something with water on this day. We have the infamous Rigby Lake, the Splash Park, and on some occasions, Ross Park. Thursday is Thinking Day where we will be going to the library to check out books. The kids will be reading all summer and I am hoping they have a good reading program this year (last year's was really DUMB)! Friday is Free Day; we will do whatever we want at home on this day.
We also have a VIP for each day. The kids will get a chance to decide everything that we will be doing on their VIP day.
I hope this will work...I guess I have three months to perfect it hu?

Beautiful Day
Today is actually sunny and looks to be warm! What a difference that makes to get up to! I am just reflecting on all my blessings today and I am so grateful! I have been able to think of things in a different perspective lately, thanks to W.C. and I am realizing that the little things don't matter. I look around at all I have to be grateful for and I am overwhelmed with how much my Heavenly Father loves me! It is a great day and I am grateful for it. Don't let today pass by without looking around at all you are blessed with!

My kids are growing up so fast! They each are starting to find their own unique interests and talents. Sissy Boo loves to cheer. In fact, today is her tryouts for Competition cheer for next year. She has worked really hard getting ready to try out! She loves to tumble and cheer and perform. It will be a busy year with all the competitions, but we will enjoy it anyway!
Big Dog is our baseball star! He loves to play baseball. He is currently on two different teams. One is the city league and a bit laid back, which he enjoys. The other is a travel team and a lot more intense. He plays with 8 and 9 year old boys, but is the youngest on the team. We are very proud of his improvements this year from last year! He is doing awesome as our team's main catcher! When he is not at practice or a game, he is outside playing catch!
Peanut is finishing his year of pre-school. He has learned a lot this year. He is a bit behind in fine motor skills and learning his letters and such. We attribute that to his medical condition, but he is doing great. He loves to ride his little bus and waves and screams when we see it around town!
Sweet Pea is growing up fast also! She is already 17 months...nursery next month! She loves to read books. That is her favorite past time! Whenever somebody sits down near her pile of books, they get the privledge of reading to her! She also loves to be outside and really enjoys going to the baseball games!
We have lots of fun and enjoyment with this little family of ours...
