meet me in st. louie

On our road trip back home from the lake we stopped in St. Louis for a couple days.
We stopped for a cool treat on our way into town.
Next, we headed to Daddy's old high school. Our favorite part was running around in this field chasing the bunnies.
We woke up bright and early and headed to the zoo. It is a fantastic zoo! Here I am waving at an ape in the primate house.
We were very excited to the giraffes!
 A really up close wave!
 In the penguin house
The brown bear ran out of the picture at the last minute. Silly bear!
Daddy took us on a train ride around the zoo.
Our last stop was the new sea loin exhibit.
In the underwater tunnel- the sea loins swam all around us!
Snuggle time with Aunt Diane. We loved staying at her house and playing with Sabrina, her puppy. We had a great visit! After nap we headed to a local water park.
Exploring the zero entry pool and splash pad
Daddy and Sister staying cool in the shade
There was an indoor lap pool, giant hot tub and two more zero entry areas!
 Sister loved the water!
But the best part of the indoor attractions was this water slide (look out the window to see the slide). Mommy and Daddy were shocked when I asked to please go on it...by myself! It was so much fun!
So much fun that I went on it a second time! This time I got flipped onto my tummy, but still came up smiling!
I gave this slide a big thumbs up! Behind me you can see the spiral staircase to the top of the slide. The tube takes you outside, spirals around a bunch and then end back inside! The part you come out is right behind Daddy.
There was also a lazy river...
and a pool that was perfect for toddlers and parents to play!
We spent the rest of our time at the water park playing on these water slides. We want a place like this near our house!

Look closely at Brother's face in this one!
Time to head out. Thank you to Aunt Diane for a wonderful visit! We can't wait to go back to the lake and St. Louis next year!

lake trip- part 2

Here is part 2 of our trip. We had a lot of fun with family and tried to stay cool in the 10 days of 100+ degree weather. 113 degrees was what the temp was when we arrived!
Our cousin Lauren loved to snuggle up with Sister.
Snack time (yes, we really do LOVE to wear matching clothes!)
Boat rides were a favorite early morning activity.

As a special treat, Mommy and Daddy took me and Brother to ride go-carts! It was a blast.

I love to go super fast! I always say I want to be a race car driver when I grow up and this experience only made me more sure of my dream.
Sister watching from the sidelines with Aunt Corky
After go-carts we went to a neat lodge with a museum. The view was breathtaking.
We loved getting to spend more time with Aunt Corky!
More relaxing on the boat. We got really into the leisurely lifestyle!

As Daddy says, Brother is the international man of leisure!
GP let me and Brother drive the boat!

Brother liked to make sharp turns. Mommy did not like Brother's driving!
Ice cream time on the deck
Brother liked to help water the plant everyday.
And right before we left we look our annual family picture. We actually got a shot with all 5 of us smiling! That was a first! Next we were off to St. Louis for some big fun...

life's a lake- part 1

This post has been overwhelming to do since I have over 180 pictures to sort through, so I am breaking it up. At the end of June we headed to GP's lake house for 2 weeks of fun and relaxing.
Brother found the movie in the car very relaxing!
When we got to the lake, B and G were there! We got the fun started right away! Here we are enjoying a boat ride.
All geared up for the boat

GP took us down to the dock to fish. I got to use a spiderman rod!
Waiting patiently...
GP showed me where all the fish like to swim. I caught a fish!
Brother had a good time too!
B and sister enjoying some quality time together. She is wonderful with Sister!
We love to make forts with G! He is so fun!
Sister took her morning nap on a boat ride.
Just relaxing and enjoying the view!
We liked eating snack on the porch and taking in the view.
We passed the Weinermobile on our way to dinner one day!
Dinner out at the Mexican restaurant
"What are you lookin' at partner?"
Wave runner time! I love, love riding the wave runner with Daddy.
We love to go fast and get wet!!
Brother could not get enough of the wave runner either!
He was born for speed!
Our precious cowgirl
4th of July family picture- Brother and I decided that watermelon was so all American that it should be in the picture too.
Daddy and I got to go on a special outing to play putt-putt. It was one of the highlights of my trip.
This was another favorite- the slip and slide!! It was super fun! I could have gone down the slip and slide all day.
Brother did not agree. He went down once and was done.
I embraced getting wet and going fast!
We loved relaxing in these chairs in the lake. It is a hard life, I know.
This picture does not do the sky justice. Mommy saw this view when she had to get up with Sister one morning at 5. So even though she had to get up so early on vacation, she got a great skyline to enjoy.
Brother, the puppy
We went to HD to make moving trucks on Saturday morning
More pics of our trip to come!
