number 1 on my Ipod, number 1 on my tivo

By far the number one played artist on my Ipod is Jason Mraz. I have loved his music since Reagan was born. I used to sit and watch VH1 while I fed her and it one of his music videos has just come out. My favorite song of the moment is If it kills me.

This show is the brightest spot in my week. Especially if Jordan is in town because I can actually get him to sit down with me and watch it. I love, love , love it. I want to be best friends with Robert, Lauren F., Lauren, Kent, Jose, Neal, Allison, Adam Shankman and Cat Deeley and Tabitha and Nepoleon. The dancers this season are amazing. I am going to buy tickets for the tour today!

If you haven't checked out either of these things, you should!

Back to School

Ellie and Reagan started back to school this week at Herriman Elementary. They have loved it.

Ellie is in 4th grade this year and has Mr. Gardner. I don't know much about him yet, but he seems like he loves to teach and has lots of patience. He is teaching the class the song "I believe I can fly" by R. Kelley. Im not sure why, but Ellie loves the song and loves to sing:) 4th grade is a big year. 4th grade is the year I remember almost everything about. I can't believe she is so old.
Reagan started 2nd grade and has Mrs. Mehler. I am so excited that Reagan finally has a great teacher. She is organized, super nice and super cute. Reagan's biggest concern after the first day of school is that Rafe (her "boyfriend") is in the other class with the girl he used to like. And her friend Emma told her that Rafe doesn't think Reagan likes him anymore. She was going to write him note to clarify today. What? Second grade? I can't believe this boy drama has already started with her.
Although these girls love summer and playing, I think they love school more. They are glad to be back.

Nevermind about Prince Charming...

he died today. We have the worst track record ever with pets. the kids were a little sad. they burried him in the back yard and wrote an apology letter on a rock that they placed on top of where they burried him. the saddest part for me was when Tess was looking in his cage saying "Prince Charmy, wake uuup. Mom, Prince Charmy won't wake up. Come on little Prince Charmy wake up!"

Prince Charming joined our family

Let me first say that Prince Charming is anything but charming. He is actually really gross. Prince Charming is a frog and this is how he became a part of our family:

Yesterday, Ellie and Reagan played at their friends house, the Gunn's. And yesterday, the Gunn's found 6 frogs in their window well (lucky them). when I picked the girls up, they begged to take one home. I said I would think about it and do some research about it. We stopped by the pet store that evening to ask what you would need for a frog. Turns out all we needed was a cage, a water and food bowl and some food. Crap. I can't use the excuse that its too expensive. So we got the stuff and headed to the Gunn's to pick out our little friend. My kids gave me the best mom award and lots of big hugs.
Next we had to come up with a name. At dinner everyone said they name they wanted and then we had a vote. you could vote for two since everyone would, of course, vote for their own. Prince Charming one. Maddox doesn't like his name, so he calls the frog Ben.
Here are the names everyone else wanted:
Jordan: Froger Fedderer
Melissa: Sir Charles
Tess: Charlie
Maddox: Ben
Reagan: Freckles
I find Prince Charming so disgusting. Last night for dinner we had chicken Cesar salad and I couldn't eat it. and I don't lose my appetite very often. The green lettuce and chicken covered with slimy dressing remind me too much of the slimy green friend we had in our back yard.
The kids have promised they will take care of him. Feeding him 2 crickets and 2 mill worms everyday, and cleaning out his cage once a week. His house is outside. this is for 3 reasons. One, to avoid pet stink in our house. Two, so we didn't have to buy a heat lamp for his cage. And three, do I don't have to look at him.
We don't have a great record when it comes to pets. We had a fish named Bob Marley for about 3 days. A puppy named Hemingway for a week. We (well, the kids) are hoping this guy lasts a bit longer.
Right after this picture was taken, the frog peed and Ellie cried. I laughed:)
Here is the handsome guy:) We don't really know if its a boy or a girl.
This is where he live. In a corner of our yard far away from me.
Here are my happy kids with their new favorite friend. I wonder how long it will last.
