Snow.

Snow is here. Snow is peace. Snow is quiet. Snow is calm. Snow is beautiful. Snow means boots, hot chocolate, coats, scarfs and CHRISTMAS!!!! I love the way snow changes the world all around me. there is nothing quiet like snow. I'm glad you're here snow, and will be, til February, and then its time for you to go.

Landon:
This week he did blood bank and it was chill. He even got off at 11:00am on Friday!!We had so much fun at his work Christmas party and it was also great that we could all go to our ward christmas brunch. It was a perfect week before the dreaded night shift starts. He actually is currently taking part two of Step 3 boards. The test is scheduled from 8:00-5:00 and then he has to head into work for the night at 5:30. "Its gonna be a bumpy ride."

Becca:
I'm sad about this rotation starting. Its the one rotation i've dreaded the most. But I keep reminding myself that a lot of people do the night shift, on a regular bases. I have this big pet peeve about the idea that doctor's schedules are the only schedules in the world that are busy and crazy. I also don't like the sentiment "no one understand what its like to have a doctors schedule." Doctors don't have the trump card on busy lives--I really believe that. Yes they are busy, but I still think Landon's job has so many more pros than cons. I complain about how busy he is sometimes, but I know he is not the only busy person out there in the world, and he isn't even close to the busiest person. And I certainly don't think that doctors are the only people that are busy and have to work holidays and have weird schedules. Sorry. I'm kind of passionate about that.

Jax:
Is obsessed with drawing lately. He works really hard on his pictures. He drew a picture of the events around Christ's birth. It was so awesome and its below. Oh and he builds the coolest lego spaceships. Jax also asked a couple of times this week if he could read his scriptures to #LIGHTtheWORLD. You go right ahead bud, read those scriptures, they've changed me life and they will change yours.

Ty:
Is just all of our favorite! And he's hair is touched in public more often than an 8 month old pregnant person. I personally just think strangers should refrain from touching anyone they don't know. But thats just me.

Snow is here :)!

The #LIGHTtheWORLD campaign has been so great and fun. We've loved adding that to our Christmas this year.

My Birthday Week

We had the best week. It was my birthday, which even standing alone, makes for a pretty awesome week. Bahaha! I make myself laugh sometimes.

Landon had the week off and we stayed home, in pajamas, drank hot cocoa, watched movies, made messes, caught up on life, read books, played football, took naps, ran errands, ate snow, exercised (Landon, not me, I took a week off), studied (again Landon, not me, I don't study) and so much more.

We started our christmas traditions:
Opening a wrapped library/or owned book every night
Christmas Devotional every night
And a service every day to fill our nativity with hay(or fabric if you have a toddler)--showing that we DO have room for the Savior in our life

The #lighttheworld has made the third tradition really easy this year. I've loved it!!!!

We played with the Hobsons on Saturday while Landon took his Step 3 board examination. We also had our friends the Briggs over for dinner tonight. Coolest story ever of how they met! They are great. I went to Scouts and to a Relief Society Activity. I played "Do You Have Room" at the activity. Landon took me on a fancy date Tuesday night--paid for by my parentals. I love them. Landon is training for a marathon. Word.

I love my Heavenly Father. Man He has given me such a great life. I have so much to be thankful for and I need to do a better job at saying sincere heart felt prayers to show my love for Him.

Joy!

Merry Christmas Season!!

yay!!!!!!!

FIRST MARATHON!!!!!

Oh man!!!! Between Thanksgiving, Gilmore Girls, weekend trip to Seattle with Landon, the Marathon, and my birthday. This weekend was epic!!!!

Becs:
I DID IT!!!!!! I ran a marathon and i'm hooked. Yay! I started training on July 1 and spent 5 months running. It was amazing. And hard. I mostly woke up before Landon went to work. Soooo between 3:30-5:00. It was dark. And it got cold at the end. But I also did some training in UT & AZ with the help of family! YAY! Things I want to remember about this first marathon:
  • I couldn't sleep the night before so finally I asked Landon for a blessing at 12:00 and I was asleep before he ended the blessing.
  • Woke up at 5:00 and ate a bagel & banana
  • We got lost on the way to the race and the ONLY reason we found it was because some car sensed we were lost, pulled over, flashed his emergency blinkers on. We flipped a U and followed, he led us RIGHT to the race
  • Was only there at the race 6 minutes before start, whoops
  • I smiled from ear to ear for the first 13.1 miles
  • My hips started hurting at 13.1 miles and that was a little discouraging
  • I watched a bald eagle dive at a group of ducks over and over
  • There was a couple running by me, this was just their workout run, he'd run 35 marathons. She had run 178. What? Stupid. But I kind of want to be like them
  • Landon cheered me on at 8 different places
  • Mahyo came and cheered me on at 3
  • The last six miles my hips hurt but I was loving it
  • I ate triangle pb&j, an orange, and drank a small glass of water at every aid station
  • My time was 13 minutes slower than I hoped for, but it poured ran the whole race
  • I ran lots and lots of puddles
  • 4:33
  • I listend to Serial from miles 14-22 and music from miles 22-26!! This is my heart beat song was my last song.
  • It was soooo painful walking to the hotel from the car. But I kept thinking about my dad, he has that pain always
  • I took a long bath and Landon got me a message bar for my birthday and after that I walked up 4 flights of stairs and all through pike place
We are signing up for a marathon in APRIL!!! Come and join :)!!!

Landon:
Had thanksgiving off! He was able to play in the turkey bowl, he was the Quarterback. Then we went to Bishops for Lunch, amazing. Then we went to Moana. So cute. He took Ty out when Ty was through. And I cuddled and watched the rest of the movie with Jaxy. We watched "Fed Up" together on Netflix and it made me sick and sad. Watch it. We need to eat better. He has this whole next week off from work. YAY! He isn't watching any TV shows for a year, soooo we will see how he does and i'm proud of him for the commitment. But he did make sure I knew that he was allowed to watch Gilmore Girls and maybe the Bachelor....... Even more proud of this sports loving, girl show loving crazy :).

Jax & Ty:
HAD THE BEST TIME WITH OUR FRIENDS THE ADAMES!!!!!! They seriously were so happy when we got home from seattle. Jax couldn't stop talking about all the things they did. I think its soooo good for kids and parents to have breaks from each other. The boys were incredible happy and wonderful last night and so were we. The very first thing Jax asked me when I walked in the door was, "So mom! How was the Marathon?!" That made me happy, I was sad they missed it. I want them to see their mom do things, just like they see their dad. But I was excited to know that he was aware that I ran 26.2 miles and that "it is a long time! And you've run way more than daddy right?"

Happy week we had! I'd say!!!

Oh ty!
