Welcome Spring

We had lots of people over this week. The Marcusens, the Reese's, the Elliots. We also had Chick-Fil-A night with the Fague's. I got to go skiing with my friend Annie who is amazing! Landon reffed baskeball and loved it. Jax had a piano recital. Ty had a birthday party. We went to a ward Talent Show where Ty & Jax both solved Rubik's Cubes and Luke shared Hi-Chews. Landon and I got lots of working out it and a really sweet and tender date night where I bore my soul and we ate sushi. Landon and I both worked out lots. I was sustained and set apart as Relief Society President which is why we have few pictures and I spent most of my waking hours this week on Gospel Library or LDS Tools. It was an emotional couple of weeks. Bishop came to our house about 2 weeks ago to extend the call. It was not on my radar. And I wondered why, but he said it was one of the most revelatory experiences he has ever had in calling someone. I am excited and feel like I have some of the best women on my team to help divide the load!!
I was gone today from 8:30-4:00 this afternoon and when I got home Landon was playing golf ball with the boys and I could not have been happier.

It was a good week!

Four Blessings

 Lando:
He finished up being stupid sick while finishing his call week. It was a rough one. He exercised for the first time on Saturday when he went running with Dave. We have some of the best people in out life. He's loving March Madness.

Becs:
Just mom stuff, and exercising and creating a home and people. We had the Jaderholms & the Donkins over for dinner tonight. Such good people. I went to an Stake RS activity on Thursday night and it was really wonderful.

Jax:
He watched the boys for 3 full hours Thursday night. He even put Brigham to bed by himself. I was only 2 minutes away and we were texting back and forth every few minutes. Jaxson is a blessing to our family and its not just because he is a wonderful brother and super responsible. He is also passionate and teachable and hard working and funny and we love him. He has LOVED March Madness and even though there has been a few tears, he is a sports lover through and through. We watched the Zags game with Fagues last night and it was so fun.

Ty:
He finished his ninja course and is crazy natural. His reading has improved so much and he is willing and able to stick with challenging reads, like the Old Testament. He started his Bloomsday Race Training and we just realized we are 7 doors down from one of his best friends. Ty is a blessing to our family. He is such a hard worker. He is selfless. He is a wonderful brother and is aware when he needs to be relied on. He is clever, and determined, and head strong and funny and we love him.

Luke:
Finally got feeling better and he is back to his darling self. He loves to help me cook and set the table. He does his laundry chore really well even though he never really wants to do it. I have started realizing that he has had the raw end of the deal when it comes to my parenting so i've been looking for an afternoon preschool. That way he can be with me during my best parenting moments and at school during my weakest. We are blessed to have Luke. He is hilarious. He is kind and personable and caring. He is seriously the cutest most encouraging brother. I feel so lucky that he is Brigs older brother. He is loyal and protective.

Brigs:
Little biggy was sick this week. And yet, you'd never really know it. He had a bad ear infection. He's been loving stacking things and putting things in other things. He loves cherrios and water. We are blessed to have Brigs. He has brought an insane amount of love to our home. He is calm and flexible and happy. He has so much goodness in him and we can't want to see even more of who he is.

Rubik's Cube & A Virus

 Landon:
He caught this virus last and probably worst. I'm not sure he slept for 48 hours. I would listen to him fall asleep and start counting. About 20 seconds later he would wake up because he needed to swallow, but it was so painful. Pretty sure he got Strep.... He says he is feeling a little better today. Work. Church Basketball. Exercise. Teaching the boys Rubik's Cube. Reading to the boys. Office Date Night.

Becs:
I spent the entire week pushing medicine into someone in this household. Including myself. LUCKILY, while I think I did get the virus, I probably had the mildest form of it. But man the swallowing hurts. I did work out 6 times this week. Landon made the point that this was the first week in the longest time (probably earl 2019) that i've worked out more than him. Other than taking care of all the people, and taking care of myself, I made dinners this week so we could eat on our lovely table and I was so happy each night to experience heavenly moments.

Jax:
He was the least sick of everyone. He spent the week trying to shave time of his Rubik's Cube solve time. This kid goes all in. I can't tell you how many times I had to say, "put that Rubik's Cube down and....." A glimpse into phone life with teenagers?? Haha!

Ty:
He finally figured out how to solve a Rubik's cube himself. He's a determined little soul. And he's sick. Like what? He was sick on and off this week. Friday he came home and fell asleep on his bed at 4 and then woke up to eat at 6 and went right back to bed.

Luke:
He had the sickness the worst of the kiddos. And I thought he was over it on Wednesday so we went to do some errands and that was a big mistake. But on Saturday he helped us all work for 7 hours to get the house back to a peaceful state. So he's feeling better

Brigs:
He is such a sweetheart. Its hard to know if his sickness was teething or waking up early or the virus... but whatever it is, he has mostly been content through it all.

I'm really grateful for modern medicine that helped us all week. I'm grateful for the Rubik's Cube that entertained us all week.  I'm grateful that we can be sick in a comfortable home in a safe place.

We are praying for you Ukraine.

PS: We officially dont have to wear masks anymore in WA

A Getaway & Retreat

I got home from Utah and went right into packing for a Becca & Landon getaway. It was so fun!! We went to Sandpoint, and loved it. The weather was awful, and we tried skiing but it was horrible. BUT, we went to 3 moives, and ate some of the best food and did some shopping and walking and kissing. Sandpoint is so cute!! It was so incredibly happy. I always feel such angst leaving my kids. I just feel like i'm asking for something that is way past the line of kosher. And whether that is true or not, those 48 hours were amazing! Huge THANK YOU to Landon's mom for flying out here and watching the kiddos. Also Jill & Kyla. Also the D'Hulsts for letting us have their cabin.

Landon then dropped me off at a cabin for a Self Compassion Retreat with a bunch of women in our stake. It was really lovely and I'm learning that i'm such a sleep snob. Which I never wanted to be, but sleep is just so hard for me. Luckily I finally fell asleep at 2:30. I love this area and the people i've met. I feel inspired by them.

The boys have all been sick on and off all week. Which I wasn't really aware of until today when I feel like they all broke down. But they had fun with Landon, Mummy, and friends. I'm sad Landon's week off is over. But mostly that our 48 hour getaway is over. I just love being with him. And when its just the two of us, I'm 100% me and its the best.

Three other major things in our life:
1: Toothless died and so we bought a new car, named Elphaba, because she's SO green. Not fun buying a car in this market, but grateful they had 1 minivan available and we have the means to buy something.

2: We finished our table. And we LOVE it.

3: PUTIN IS THE WORST and it was the only reason we stayed connected to our phones in Sandpoint. I can't even fathom what the Ukrainian people are going through right now.
