Week 24: The Spirit.

We spent most of the week talking about how the spirit works through each of us(Because of D&C 6-9). Though I am still learning personally for myself, and I don't believe to know all the ways the spirit speaks to each of my children, these are some of the ways my boys brought the spirit into our home this week.

Landon:
Landon brought the the spirit with him when he was being intentional. Whether that is at work, or running, parenting or being with me, if he is being intentional about that time, he is so happy, and our home is so much happier.

Becca:
I feel like I invited the spirit into the home when I  overcame my desire to just veg, and worked. When i'm working, I feel it so strongly. I also felt it when my boys are getting along or when Landon is playing with the boys, but that isn't really dependent on me. It just feels my whole soul.

Jaxson:
One of the times Jaxson brought the spirit into our home is when he is played WITH his brothers. There is an eliminate of sacrifice there, as his next closest brother is 4 years younger than him. But when he takes the time to play at their level, he beams!

Tyler:
Tyler brought the spirit into our lives this week by serving. He wanted to shovel, make Jaxsons bed, share with Luke, and deliver Ice Cream to people. He naturally wants to make people feel happy, and so when he sees a way he can serve, or someone he can help, and he does it (and its his idea), he then can't contain the smile on his face or the excitement in his soul.

Luke:
Luke feels the spirit absolutely through music. And he brings the spirit into our life (and our car) by singing at the top of his lungs the songs he is learning. He also brings the sweetest spirit each Sunday after the sacrament, when he himself passes it again to all of us.

Brigham:
His whole being brings the spirit in our home.

Other notes:
The Packers lost (que jaxsons crying picture)
My back is so extremely terrible (que, less than 4 hours of sleep each night this week.) Any prayers, advice or new backs are welcomed!

PS:
My mom brought the spirit into our life because of her new song. GOSH ITS AMAZING!!! Don't miss it

Week 23: Becca Becca is Here Part 2

We had another great week with Becca! I can't believe she leaves on her mission on Wednesday. It was such a blessing and honor to have her here with us right before her mission. She filled our home with such a special spirit. She is going to kill it on her mish.

Lando:
Finished his third week of nights. He ran 8 miles on Saturday in 20 degree weather. On Friday he made sure I got a nap and folded all the laundry while I slept, mind you, he was post call after a week of nights. He drove us through the snow to Will Bunkers farwell talk. It is only the 4th time we've been to church since March.

Becs:
I loved having Becca over. It was so nice to have someone to talk to and to play with the boys. My back pain at night is so bad. I've been meeting with a chiropractor, and icing, and stretching and doing planks, and we bought a bed...... And I still can't sleep at night. I wake up and can't move, or breathe, ugh. There have been multiple nights when Brigs has only woken up once, but i'm awake from most of the night. However, I can't even explain the love and obsession I have for Brigham. And truly because of him, I don't even really think about my back pain. I just can't get enough of him. Like my moms cousin said recently, "Isn’t the rest of my life so fortunate and meaningful as to make this new hurt insignificant?". THAT is how I feel about my life right now. It's so good, that the back pain is really insignificant

Jax:
He is currently a mess because the Packers are losing. He loved his time with Becca Becca. He loves football so much, lately you don't see Jax without a football in his hands. Flicking it, throwing it, tossing it, constantly. I think we've decided to let him play flag football next year.

Ty:
When our new bed came Ty lit up, "Mom can I please help dad build it?" And he did help Landon build it. The focus Ty has when it comes to creating something is inspiring to me. I'm so excited to help him find all the ways he can build and create in this life. Ty has been enjoying my ice maker my mom got me, he eats ice non stop.

Luke:
We love every part of Luke except for his screaming toddlerness. But i've learned that stages pass and determination, stubbornness, and independence is something I sincerely love in my kids. Luke is in love with animals.

Brigs:
We constantly told our boys that they didn't want us to have a girl, because she would be our favorite. Buuuuut little did any of us know that Brigs would be our favorite baby!!! He only cries for 2 reasons: 1 he is hungry and 2 he has a dirty diaper. No other time during the day does he fuss. He goes to sleep anywhere and without fuss. He coos and oos. He is cuddley. He smiles so big whenever you talk to him or look at him. Oh man, his middle of the night smiles are too good. I'm so in love with him!

Week 22: Becca Becca is Here!!

Becca Becca is here!!!!! Becca lived with my parents when we were there this summer. She had just graduated high school and she is the most amazing 19 year old on the face of the planet. I can’t even believe that she’s spending her last few days with us before she leaves on her mission on January 27th. The boys have been spoiled rotten by all the attention she’s given them and I’ve loved being able to have a friend to talk to. We’ve had so many fun and deep gospel discussions the last few days and I’m just so excited for her to get out there and teach people about Jesus. She has brought a special spirit into our home and I hope that we’ve been able to fill her spirit too.

Things to remember real quick:

Sister Sparks & Sister Green and our lesson Wednesday night
Bowling Date with Jax & Ty
Findlay Market
Lots and lots of doctor appointments
Jungle Jims
Luke giving us the sacrament
The best gospel discussions with Becca
Lots of yummy food (her girl scout cookies, avocado toast, vegan banana cream pie, etc. etc.)

Thats all for this week. Four kids, just takes up all of your free time haha.

Also, our dear friends the Naylors are heading into the hospital tomorrow at 3:00am to deliver their baby girl Esther who won't make in longer than a few minutes/hours. My heart is heavy and with them tonight. Life is hard sometimes. Pray for the Naylors if you read this!!

Week 21: Our 2020 Review & Hello 2021

 What. A. Year.

A year that will be remembered by all.

JANUARY:

Landon went to Ghana, Jaxson won a basketball game against his first real bully, Ty had a sleepover at Hallies for her birthday. It was cold.

FEBRUARY:

We went to Arizona and helped Landon's parents move out of their home. First time that Landon and his dad had been together for their birthday in 10+ years. Jaxson finished up his basketball season and I was relieved to be done coaching.

MARCH:

I found out I was pregnant, potty trained Luke, and the world shutdown (including schools) because of COVID all in the same week. Honestly reviewing March just gives me an insane amount of anxiety. Also 5 days later SLC experienced its biggest earthquake

APRIL:
Luke turns two. Landon is no longer chief. We started going to temples each Sunday.

MAY:
We went to Monticello for Landon's week off (to help in our every temple in Utah endeavor). Ty turned 5. We found our home in Cincinnati. I cut my hair and was so sad about it, We went to the Curtis's cabin.

JUNE:
Protests began over the murder of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breoanna Taylor. SLC was put on a curfew. We packed up our apartment. Jaxson's school had a parade for kids to wave goodbye to their teachers. We went to Bryce Canyon. LANDON GRADUATED RESIDENCY!!!!!!

JULY:
We said goodbye to SLC and our 800 sq/ft apartment. Moved our stuff to Kentucky. Stayed in my parents basement. Spent the a week watching Nate & Sarah's kids. Went to Lagoon with the Wennerholms. Played pool nightly in my parents basement (Becca, Erika, Logan, Jen, Scott, Mom & Dad joined often).  Finished our Utah temple tour at the Timpanogoes Temple while saying goodbye to the Curtis Family.

AUGUST
Went to Leah's baby shower. Landon finished working at the U. Took Ty to the Parade of Homes. Said goodbye to family. Family Reunion in Glacier. Then we moved across the country to Kentucky/Cincinnati (said hello to the Hobson's on the way).

SEPTEMBER:
Landon started fellowship. Boys started online school. We went to the Smokey Mountains. The three big boys went back to Utah for a weekend. Landon got a blessing from his dad as he was considerably overwhelmed with boy fellowship and finding a job.

OCTOBER:
Jaxson turned 9. Landon interviewed and accepted a position at the Providence Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane Washington. Mummy & Papa came to visit. The boys started in-person school.

NOVEMBER:
BRIGHAM IS BORN. We are indebted to the Thorup's for watching our boys and my mom for helping with the transition. Boys back to online school.

DECEMBER:
I have the best 6 weeks of my life with my four beautiful boys and Landon. My parents come to visit.
