Landon:
He wrapped up a busy rotation at the Main OR. Which he actually really loves, which helps offset the business, for him at least. He was able to be home long enough this week to take Jax on a date and me on a date. He also was able to make it to my family Christmas party which was SOOOO fun! Its been a rough week trying to flip his schedule back to normal + call again this week. But don't worry, he's currently helping Jax with his Harry Potter Legos and Ty with his Batman Legos soooo he is getting some rest ;). After today Landon has exactly 5 days off til February. January will be even crazier than this month, so its a good thing he is getting all that "rest" I was talking about. He was the biggest support to me in my Church Calling the last 5 weeks. He watched 9 kids every week for an hour so parents who wanted to be in Choir could be. He gave the real unheralded sacrifice if you ask me. I also found him on the couch this morning at 5:00am. Apparently he felt like he was going to throw up all night and didn't want to wake me, so he came out on the couch. He works tomorrow and Christmas but we are very hopeful that he will be around Christmas Eve night and Christmas Day night. And who knows, maybe waiting to do Christmas morning until Landon comes home for work will make the day and season last just a little longer. December 26th is just the pits.
Becca:
I had a much better week. I was talking to my friend Maddie one night about how you choose to be busy. And for some reason how she phrased it really impacted me. And so when I was at crazy Costco getting Christmas Eve diner or rushing to get out the door to choir practice or heading to a cousin play date, I was able to say to myself, "I CHOSE to do this." Which I think helped me re-write the moment in my mind. Instead of "Ugh! Costco is so annoyingly busy. Why do I have to be doing this" I was able to say, "Costco is so busy because so many people are trying their hardest to make their Christmas season special for their people. And I'm happy i'm doing the same."
I wrapped up home schooling with Jaxson. Phew, two months in and realizing how much work it is. But I CHOSE this work and it feels right, so we will carry on. I was able to do a couple musical number practices, which was so good. The Christmas program was 6 musical numbers that I picked and organized. Thank goodness for 2 soloists, a wonderful pianist (Auroa!!!! who saved me so much), 16 choir members, a violinist and the primary! I had so many people come up to me afterwards and say the program was wonderful. Putting together a musical program is no joke. I'm so grateful for the experience and growth. This week's #lighttheworld was all about family. We made sure to spend lots of time together as our little family. I took Ty on a date. We hung out with Lacey, Hal and Cope and then my family on Saturday. It was really nice to be close to family this year for Christmas. I know that we may only have one more like that before we head off to fellowship and real life. But really who knows what God has in store for us.
Jaxson:
Lets see, he is currently working on his 878 piece Harry Potter LEGOS set that he got from Nana. The boys have ALREADY been so spoiled, i'm considering returning all of their presents. They got remote control cars from the Wennerholms. They got a lego set from their babysitter, Heather and then more LEGOS from Nana & Popsie.
A couple of cute stories from this week. Jax was doing hie
Big Life Journal with his Mummy (Landon's mom). They were on Face Time and Mummy said, "Let me call you back in just 30 seconds." So she hung up and immediately I hear, "1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi." I could here him getting louder as he got to 23, 24, 25... and on 27 Mississippi, Mummy called back. Jax was sure to let her know. Jaxson is SOOO very literal. I learn over and over that I have to be careful what I say. If I say, "We are going to a Christmas Concert" and its one song, there is disappointment. If I say "we will leave to play with friends at 3:00" and we leave at 3:07, there is anxiety. If I say "we will ride the bus to the library" there is correction, "you mean the train?" YES Jaxson!!! He is a lot like his dad in this way.
Jaxson also cares about EVERYTHING. We were at his basketball game and to put it nicely, his team got DESTROYED. The rest of the kids just were excited about getting the snack. And Jax, jax sobbed. A few moms came up to me and asked, "What is wrong?" I just said, "He just cares!" Which is such a great sweet quality. But it also is such a hard quality because at 3:23 on Friday afternoon when BYU was losing in the bowl game, he was a mess. I told him if he didn't go outside and shoot some hoops during halftime I would NOT be turning on the game again. Speaking of BYU, for weeks now Jax has been saying "Mom only 12 more days. Mom only 5 more days." I never really paid much attention to the comments, just smiled and nodded and thought, "Ah! He's so excited for Christmas." Until Thursday when Jax stated loud and clear, "MOM!!!! What day is it... [walks over and checks] there is only ONE MORE DAY!" uhhhh...... I say, "Jax Christmas isn't for 5 more days kiddo."
"No not that! One more day til the BYU Bowl." HAHAHA! The only countdown Jax has been having is the BYU Bowl countdown. Lots of loving eye rolling over here.
Ty Ty:
I still don't really understand where Ty's love of Batman comes from. But he loves him so much. And this weekend he collected two more Batman LEGOS. Which he loves. He has really come around to school and I can tell he is learning a lot from his teachers. He can count to 12 and can sing most of his ABCs. But I seriously don't worry about what he knows right now, the kid put his 87 piece batman lego set together basically by himself. I just pointed at each step, but he found the piece and placed it in the correct place. He is 3.5 years old. I honestly think that is so incredible. He is going to do insanely big things. Landon says that all the time. We were in charge of snacks for his preschool on Wednesday and we were suppose to bring a family favorite. So we took Empanadas. Ty woke up Wednesday morning and said excitedly, "I'm so excited for my Weam-ba-na-das at scool mom. Yucy (Lucy) will YOVE them." His voice. It kills me. He unfortunately fell at preschool and hit his head really hard so when I got there I wasn't able to hear the whole experience from an excited boy. But I know he loved taking his school the Weambanadas.
I mad the kids a really yummy lunch on Thursday and apparently we were all really hungry because we just dug in and didn't say prayer. Which rarely rarely happens(that i'm aware of.) Anyway when we were almost done with our lunch and Ty perked up and said, "Mom mom mom! Stop stop stop eating!! PRAYER." And my heart melted. Moments like this make me feel like, "ooookkk" it is sinking in.
A few other cute things about Ty are that he hates having his closet opened at night. The darkness of the closet scares him. Which is such a childhood thing and the more I know Ty the more I realize he is my mini and jax is Landos. Hopefully I have some good things to pass on to him ;). Ty also LOVES laying on Luke. Like full on lays on his tummy, I really think its adorable and his expression of love, EVEN though it is sometime a little too rough.
Lukers:
He has been waking up 2 times a night for a few weeks now. Which is not my favorite. He is however crawling! I can't believe he started to crawl so fast. Legit crawling too, not army crawling. He still army crawls when he wants to get somewhere fast. He also is the sweetest cuddler before I put him down for a nap. I really try to soak in every cuddle I can get. Because its something so special and won't last for very much longer.

Not the finest of moments, but I had a A+ reaction to it. And Ty had to clean it all up. Thank goodnes we could. |

My grandma made this for me when I was little and spent the night at her house. Bread and cheese in the microwave for 15 seconds with salt and pepper. I felt so comforting to me! |

Christmas cards and Ellen! |

I took Ty ty on a date to the mall. We rode this elephant. He was the cutest. After about 8 minutes he said "your turn mom". Then he wrapped his little arms around my waste and held on tight. I just tried to be totally present and soak in the wonderful moment. "Whoa mom! You a rreeeee good driver." |

Landon was showing Jax a snake and iguana documentary. Jax is terrified of snakes. |
|
Ty buckled himself up! He was so proud. So was I. |

I love this picture of Lace and Cope. Lace is one of the best mommys and I'm just SOOOO grateful that she is my sister in law. I really think she is amazing and classy and wonderful and beautiful, inside and out. And I adore her kiddos. I mean, isn't Hal just the cutest???! She is the only little girl in a group full of boy cousins. She holds her own quite well though. |

Anna and her family got us this little ornament. It meant so much to me. Moving from place to place is hard. But Anna has made me feel so welcome and comfortable in this area. She is such a humble, meek, thoughtful and dedicated mother, wife and friend. She's been an example to me of kindness, patience, calmness and priorities. Like I'm always so impressed that she has NEVER pulled out her phone when I am with her. And sometimes our kids are together for 2 hours. She is always present. Anyway, i'm just grateful for her friendship. |

BEST Draw name present EVER!!! My mom drew me this year for Christmas. If you know anything about me, you could only guess how excited I am about this. I bawled with excitement!!!! IMMMMMM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!! The pictures below makes me laugh. Draw names is my favorite tradition. Well that and The Nutcracker. I love my family. I love my life. I LOVE KONMARI!!!! haha |

My mom killed it in the gift giving department. She made this book of virtues for the grandkids. There is a page for every person with a story of how they did something good even though it was hard. Its beautiful and i'm so excited to read it to my kids when they are struggling with a particular situation. |

BYU did win. Wilson is an awesome quarterback. 18/18. I'm so impressed with his family. They were ALL Utah fans. And his dad even played for Utah. And their home is decked out in Utah attire. And they've all swung to the BYU side since Wilson signed with them. I sent this poll to my family. Hahaha. I still need to figure out who would disown Jax. |
And my view once i'm done with my blog. Merry Christmas Adam everyone!!!
