Yesterday we celebrated the 1year birthday of our son! He is such a little man now. He had a great time with his cake, and loves his new toys and books. He loves books.
We woke up this morning to loads of quickly falling snow! We are expected to get 3-7 inches this morning. Needless to say there won't be much going out today. Church was cancelled, and we are going to stay warm and dry indoors today. We have a turkey to cook up, Cajun style this time and a few rounds of rolls to enjoy. Along with plenty of left over chocolate cake to eat! There won't be much to complain about today, just enjoying the beauty of falling snow and listening to Christmas music.

Total Recall
Like life, I'm always catching up. It is now Nov. 1st and I'm getting around to Halloween recovery. Halloween was great, picked and carved our own pumpkins and played the part of Cruella DeVil complete with puppy.
Our Tour Road Trip was fantastic, met an enourmous amount of people and saw some really amazing places. I think that everyone should take the opportunity to drive cross country!
The leaves have all hit there peak and have made a huge pile now on my driveway and front yard. Its almost a bummer to rake them up, they make such a pretty blanket!

Travel
Big plans, BIG PLANS!
This summer will be a crazy one. We will be taking a month roadtrip across the US to visit family and escape the beautiful NE summers.
In the meantime landscaping, additions, and renovations are being discussed. Not actually being worked on currently. But the dreams are in the works.

Aplologies
Time has a way of running away from you. I've been pretty distracted with life lately, not having taken the time to bring together my thoughts of the Orr life lately. Now that four months have blown by...my little guy is the coolest. Family is gone and already we are working on plans to take a crazy road trip back to the west. I'm hoping to make a little vacation out of it. Get to meet & greet the new extensions of family who are already big fans of the pictures I send out every so often.
Thrilling Madness.
I'm also working on working.
Trying to get my little business together and bring in enough cash to fund our small adventures and perhaps purchase some much needed equipment for the small crazily wallpapered office I call home.
I'll try to keep this up more often. But then again, really who am I to apoligize and to whom am I sending out this apology? Cyber journal lament.

Evolution
As with any new beginning in a new year many make resolutions. I prefer to look at them as evolutions. There are not things that I wish to change, but rather things in my life and self I look to improve. Some of them are silly things, some of them quite serious. But of all of these attempts at self-improvement I hope that each will make me a better person overall.
I think that perhaps we ought to all write a manifesto. A statement of who we are and what we wish to become in less than 100 words. (I was given this challenge and found it harder than I thought it would be a 100 words is not much to describe the values and thoughts I hold about myself.) Give it a try! Here is my manifesto!

I will take life in short bursts, never having been one for long term goals. I will accept challenges and opportunities with vigor. I will conquer my fears of failure. I will find fulfillment in accomplishments and have those selfish moments of egotistical boosts. I will take the time to spoil myself. I will buy better shoes. I will find happiness and joy in small pleasures. I will evaluate my past and be grateful for my present. I will live out my life in peace knowing that I have made my own choices, and not the repercussions of others stupidity. I will see myself as whole, not compartmentalized roles. I am the sum of my parts.
Home Sweet

Welcome Leave it to Beavers! This is our new home, a nice 1960 retro in New England. We've got big plans to rev-up the interior and bring back some of the natural beauty of its awesome hardwood floors and decrease some of its more interesting features. All of which may have been all the rage in its prime, we are ready to bring some of it back down to modern livability.
