the long overdue photos from Shanghai trip dec 2008

First night at Xin Tian Di!! the french concession street.

Din Tai Feng! Pork cutlet, fried rice and xiao long bao! =) it's 10x nicer in shanghai even though there's a branch in Singapore. I think i gained 3kg from this meal =D

Wall of celebrities. Andy lau, Karen Mok, Jay chou, Ah Mei, Zhang xue you and i cant recognise the rest. LOL

it's abit like urban geog's Urban Renewal with the mix of the past and present, the historical french architecture left behind during the colonial period with modern restaurants, boutiques and pubs.

Shanghai bo wu guan! museum! Located near Raffles City shopping centre. eee it was really boring! Galleries after galleries of jade, currencies..i rather go to the urban planning exhibition or the wax museum. the audio guide was quite pointless coz it says nth much abt the exhibits, just the phoenix symbolises the empress, the dragon symbolises the emperor. DUH! ~ oh but jade gallery was awesome! we could see the workmanship, level of technology frm those jade pieces and dynasties after dynasties, as the chinese societies prosper, the jade pieces also became more sophisticated in their designs and carvings. n my sis said that she spent the whole day at the museum =.= ohmytian!

the dessert place located at the basement of Raffles City. the shopping mall has shops like guess, levi's, quite similar to Singapore actually. they even hve beard papa! =D

2nd day!

went to hotel for dim sum brunch. China Court. they hve the best char siew buns ever! fried char siew buns unlike the steamed ones at home, and they're covered in honey! yum! =))

I was looking thru my photos and couldnt help thinking tt i was alot happier in ijc. =( I really like our class even though geog lectures were really jigglypuff like. I miss our OGLs! despite the long train rides to woodlands and waking up at 5am 0_0 every morning, surprisingly, i was really much happier during the one month. mayb bcoz i had moni with me? i miss the yoghurt machine at the canteen, the flooded bookshop, haha the smelly lect theatre, the lib, the nice pe teachers. Y was i so obsessed abt getting into acj?

wooohooo Shanghai rocks! the temp is abt 8 degrees and i really lik to wear the winter coat and the scarf. kawaii =D i love the restaurants and cafes here coz they play chinese music =) haha and the cds here are cheap too, can buy 4 cds with 40 sg dollars. Shopping is really good, with malls everywhere u go and the clothes are nice, just that it's quite expensive. unfortunately, my chinese suck and im always switching between eng n chinese. =( mandarin is quite amazing though. the hanyu spelling mayb the same for some words, just switch the hypy and u'll get a different word altogether. My mum is hilarious! She asked me if the smoking zone sign is to be read left to right or right to left! >.<

i'm still kinda excited abt the lockin class starting in jan 2009 at the new o sch location =) lockin seems hard, i wonder if i can master it. haha and i still cant find my nike dunks here! =(

i think the vivi mag model Lena is hot. haha =D love her smile. =)

woooaaahhh..Just came back from Project Jumbo camp! =D
nahh it wasnt as fun as proj Eagles..x((
bus rides were long and boring..i slept on the bus lik almost 3 hours every single day! OMG and it was soooooooooo UNGLAM ! i slept with my mouth hanging open!!!!! =xxx LOL
nahh hejun's sleeping position was worse den mine! =x
ehhh first few days were boring..going to turtle and elephant sanctuaries and doing presentation slides and videos. But it was fun talking to Chao hao and Audrey on the bus!! =DD they really entertained me during the long boring hours on the bus. =)
Hmmm the most exciting part was actually the adventure section. Flying fox, white water rafting, cave exploration and 4 wheel drive! omg! chao hao's stupid obscene posture at the flying fox is stuck in my head now!!! HAHA gross!
ohoh the caves at Gua Kerling(?) were really cool. All the physical geograpahy content coming alive la. =D Stalactites, Stalagmites, columns.. and there's even a dream theatre somemore. =.= and it used to be the communists hiding place! 0_o
ermm 4 wheel drive was scary but fun at the same time! haha wah lao. my chest,back,arms were super sore after the ride! x(( lols scenery was great! =DD ohoh and there was a korean boyband behind our group! lols. and we went swimming at the waterfall too! waahh it was damn scary coz i had to swim against the water currents and im a weakling la! x(( used to be a swimmer but still had to struggle to stay afloat.. =.= haha and i was pulling on to Xavier the whole time! haaha =x
ooh last day was the BEST! went to klcc to shop n lunch! =DD
went with Sophiana, shihua and Audrey but somehow we separated, then me n soph continued shopping at Topshop! wahh we went to fcuk, guess,topshop, esprit, nose..we practically dashed into the stores!! lols. hmmm 2hrs of shopping was definitely not enough for us la.. =DD
hmm and i just realised that klcc actually stands for Kuala Lumpur City Centre. haha =)

oh and we went to a chocolate factory! haha =D and there werent any Ooompa Loompas!

haha =(( hmmm the 3-4 nights of project work were really stressful and awkward! I shld hve change to sofa's or audrey's group instead...ahhh

okay..anyway, hanging out with soph, shihua,audrey, aiming and teresa was really fun! =D missed them all! =)) and i din even know tt aiming is in the same geog lecture as me! haha

haha okayy i shall update since it's march holidays now! =D yay!

ohh i think im gna screw up my common tests btw..haha n i gt a D for chinese! x( i was quite happy when i gt back my results. den i went hme and realised tt it was quite horrendous actually since i gt a B3 for O lvls. o_O ehh oh noo! i thought i was quite chi-na pok until i entered cj, and i cant even write a decent chinese essay now! x( haha not tt i can write a decent gp essay too!! =x

eh the whale n turtle-on-top-shaking-its-head float! super cute float with the starfish at the side! i found out tt in every float, there's a driver hidden in front of the float driving it! it actually works and moves lik a normal vehicle.

NUS Sheares Hall float. apparently they won the best float competition among all the different halls at NUS. eh dun understand y the design was lik tt. haha

ERPPPP!!! one of my personal favorites! =PP miao zu, some tribe from taiwan!! haha all the naked guys walking ard holding up their boat! their performance was just lik walking up n down, dancing ard the boat!! LOL oh tt's ben neo and tunjiang, our group leader smiling there..=.=

2ND DAY! SAT! stupid tunjiang pangseh all of us! he's the leader! how dare he pon parade la! x(( eh anyway we had lots of fun on the last day of chingay without him! haha xD

me n grace again! haha we were bored standing at the toilets area doing crowd controlling coz there were obviously no crowds or whatsoever at the toilets area, which were for performers only. =.= so we went over to do traffic marshals at the entrance of the parade, welcoming everybody the church ushering ministry way! haha! we were uber high. oh n i gt to know Clarence frm cj over there too! haha =D

oh n i met a grp of koreans too! and i told them i love kimchi and korea! =D haha Ben thinks tt im mad LOL

F1 racing car! haha it was moving so slowly la.. it was braking n turning all the time..=.= i bet the drivers inside were quite sian too..

oh Chingay city jam 2008 ticket! there was a all nite party after the parade at padang area..they sold tiger beer i think. haha ooh n we met this group of guys doing breakdance! all the chingay volunteers left their duties and started to cheer n watch them perform la! haha was super slack! ehh they were soo coool! Shld hve taken a video of them haha.

ooh n i showed ben neo how to do a perfect arm wave den he started doing too! haha but it was super weird! =x ehh n how dare he say tt my arm wave is lik broken robot! x((( grrrrrrrr y is it tt all the Bens i know are irritating??!!!? haha

ooh n i found out wad's marpeleh alr! i overheard this indian road sweeper calling his other sweeper fren tt. =.= HAHA

me n grace! dead n tired out frm all the whistling n slapping CHINGAY DREAM TEAM =.=haha the guys said tt i looked lik sadako with my hair all over my face! LOL =.= GRRRRRR yes!!! all bens are the same! EQUALLY irritating!!!! ehh nx time i'll crash RJ to go haunt u! =D
