the sunrise paragliding office at lakeside, pokhara.

landing , and the drama that occured!!
after i landed, there was a fight on the landing site, among two rival groups of paragliders.
apparently the guy before me (tushar) landed on their canopy... and they started bickering, then a brawl... even my guy joined in as soon as he landed, left me to unbuckle myself.

overall, paragliding was great fun!!

P.S. do not eat anything in the morning!

new passport!!

went to kathmandu on 17th to pick up my new passport from the embassy!

hopefully, now when i come to singapore they'll recognise the person in the passport as me!

durgapuja

today, i decided to finally go see the 'mandap' of durgapuja, assembled for a week now, only 10mins walk from the hospital.

for approx 3 times already i had asked my friends to go see it, when we went across it on our way to the market or back, but everytime we just ended up postponing it!

i just felt our decisions and priorities werent right! how can u postpone a meeting with 'GOD' ? i mean if u have faith in such things ... then think about it. shouldn't it be your top priority?!

thats what i felt, and i could not not-visit it any longer. i thought i had been doing wrong in falling into companionship and ignoring a small visit to the temple, which costs so little, just needs some effort and will.

i went alone. enjoyed a moment of solitude and focused on my prayer, thankfully it turned out this way, because if my friends had been around, we might have ended laughing around and cracking jokes again at something or the other, missing the purpose of the visit.

School Health

in our course, we have a subject called Community Medicine.
in theory it as an important component of our curriculum and education, but the subcontinental approach to studies and education has made it just another subject which seems a waste of time or something one has to just pass and move on with the course.

yet, we do sometimes have fun on field trips.
this month we had a trip scheduled on School Health, where we med students visit a neighbouring school, and perform heath checkups on the kids there.

but unfortunately, the staff and interns are so apathetic that its just a ritual now. we went to this small school, and the teacher and these interns who are supposed to give us directions and instructions about the best way to organise and go about it, just sat around gossiping!!

kinda pissed me off!

nevertheless, we did a bit of what we thought we should do and checked up some kids.
got pics taken to put in our files too!
