All good things always come to an end

I dont know why am I feeling so much now, but I guess is because I am starting to really miss the friends and life I am having here already. Its my last week here in KU. I learnt many things today. Yeah, which is ANOVA! The bloody stats thingy that I dread the most always:/ But it doesnt seems hard at all because I was guided so patiently by P.pum and P.dew. They are just like my big brother and sister.

You might think that teaching someone who dont know anything about what you are teaching in a different language ( for instance, them teaching me how to use ANOVA in thai) might be super pek cek and hard. No. I realised despite having lnaguage barrier, they are even much more patient when it comes to teaching using a language that they aint very strong on. I thanks them for that, really appreciated that alot because they made all these stats thingy that I need tabulate and present less complicated to me. :')

Really gonna miss them so much, and the 5 weeks here:( Learning have never been so much relax yet useful for the past 3 years. I realized the life and school life here is much more slack YET able to learn as well because, its less intense but still very useful in work.

Alright, i needa go do my results and reports and slides and I am super busy but i have no regrets and complain, i am enjoying every moment of this week.

Episode of the impromptu get-away to Vientiane, Laos for our visa-run

22/2/12 will be a super memorable day for me because many things and decisions happened, like just within a day.

It was till last week and we realized our visa in Thailand expires on the 23 feb12 and our attachment here in bangkok ends only on the 5th March. So since last week till Wednesday, we did nothing but to just wait for the official letter from KU before heading to whatever building it is ( Initially we were told that its at silom, but actually its somewhere near KU, haha) to apply for the extension of our visa.

So when we were at the immigration building, we were told that we aint allowed to extend our visa despite having the official letter from KU, because we came to Thailand as tourist visa. Oh well. It was till that point of time, things get pretty serious and intense because the real problem is our visa is going to expire the following day.

Thats when we enter a real, difficult situation because each overstay day fine is 500 bhat ( $20), we have 11 more days here in bangkok, which makes the fine sum up (5500baht- $220) if we didnt extend our visa.

So we went back school with heavy hearts and trying to deal with this, wanted to get outta the country and then come in again to renew the visa, which is by far, the cheapest and best solution but was stopped by Dr johnny as he said the school will never allow us to make such decision. Thanks gawd that Dr Vanee managed to talk to Dr Johnny, plus telling our parents ( I hate to make them worry, oh well). It was partly our fault and some miscommunication but everyone in our own side started questioning us, why didnt we check our stamp earlier on ( which wouldnt help if we check earlier because even the KU letter doesnt help to extend our visa), why didnt apply visa in the first place, blahblah blah-.-

I hope that in future, that our school could at least ensure the students that they need/dont need/have the visa to that country that they are heading to instead of questioning and say why didnt the students see everything to it themselves.-.- Not trying to blame anyone because yes its our fault this time, but at least stop brushing all questions to us like we wanted such thing to happen. WE NEVER EVER SEE IT COMING AT ALL And not everyone travel so often to know it well.

And so final decision made, an impromptu trip to laos at night. Quickly went back to our dorm from school, bathed, and grabbed a jacket and important documents, and off we went to mor chit bus terminal. Bought bus tickets to Nong Khai.

Never in my life will I expect myself to go Laos, like never ever cross my mind? LOL. and I am actually gonna go in like a while time
Our bus ticket.. VIP coach - 450 baht each
My not so pleasant dinner before boarding the bus-.-
at the bus terminal!
Our coach! Its like Singapore departing to genting feeling. LOL
They gave us a packet of rice, a packet of milk, a bread and a bottle of water~!
So the 8 hours journey began. Woke up and we reached Nong Khai, its around 4plus am in the morning. Felt super cold due to the air con and also the weather there since the sun hasnt rise. And when we alighted the coach, a bunch of tuktuk drivers surrounded us and offered to take us to our destination. ( and usually the price is higher-.- but no choice, we needed transport)
Look at the temperature. Cold enough, can feel the wind entering through my jacket and tee shirt
So early in the morning 5 am, on an empty road, in a tuktuk, we began our fast and furious journey towards the thai-lao border. Its such big empty street and super cold, but it looked like L4D scene. Was wondering if I could see zombies running out not. HAHAHAH
Waited near the 7-11 and had the bread and milk that was given to us on the coach. While waiting for time to pass because if we went pass the immigration before 8am, which is like earlier than their working hours, we have to actually pay 40 baht each.
Waited from dark sky to sunrise~
Was sitting from 7am till 8am, looking at angmohs and the local, who are going to cross the border to Laos too. Saw many backpackers too. For once, I felt like a backpacker too. HAHAHA. But those angmohs backpackers needa apply visa to cross, super troublesome for them. but I guess most of them were like us. crossing over and then back to thailand just to extend their stay in thailand.

So finally after 8am, we crossed the border and again, and paid 20 baht for the bus from thai immigration to laos. The bus passed mekong river, the river inbetween these two countries.
Beautiful
So we reached Laos! and again, many people offering to take us for a tour with van. 1000 baht ( 40 bucks). End up we took up an package with the uncle which charge only 800 baht.

We were famished so we wenta eat!
Laos currency. in Kip
Raw food diet?:P
hahahahaha. no la~
Uncle bought us to the temple.
HAHAHAA LOOK WHAT I SAW. IPAD3 LEH. I even saw IPAD 6 there.
Next was the Victory Gate

And then we visited Haw Phra Kaew. Its a very nice place. and is a museum inside.

Bronze Buddha statues at Haw Phra Kaew
I dont know why this pic let me have this " night at the museum" feel
And we hurried back and cross back over to thailand. So glad to get the new visa that can last till 8 march despite all the long journey and tiredness. BUT WHEN WE REACH NONGKHAI, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE NEXT BUS IS AT 4PM?! And its only 1plus pm when we were there, and the 4pm bus is a normal bus. 7.45pm is the VIP coach. So we waited all the way till 8pm ( the coach was late).

So what did we did during these few hours? we slept in the nearest shopping mall. just outside the arcade. LOL. hahaha. Sorry i was too tired and my phone batt was dying out:(

and while waiting for our coach to arrive, i was sitting at the bus terminal, watching people. I see those Vietnam people, pushing and raising voice, just to get up the bus, and they freaking throw all luggage in and wanna get up into the bus :/ its like some of the c__________ ppl in our country:X
So finally we reached bangkok at 4plus am. AND Mor chit terminal were full of TAXIS.Like the whole place are all taxis which i call money sucker because they dont on meter and refused to offer any lower fare. money suckers. dishonest people:( but no choice, we were all tired. arghhh~ forget it. Its a nice experience anyway, to vientiane, laos, and also a chance to see all sort of people and life.
