Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving was great! We had 16 people (including my family) for the evening. It was really fun. All of the food was delicious! Here are some pictures. . .

We made simple but cute place settings. Just a little piece of cardboard folded with the person's name stamped on.

Inside are fresh homemade rolls straight from the oven!
We had 5 pies. Pecan, chocolate, key lime, pumpkin, and lemon meringue.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Autumn harvest

So, across from our house on the opposite site of the gravel road there is (was) a huge corn field. We have been able to watch it grow during the time we moved into our new house in June. As Fall started to come the corn stalks turned brown and looked so pretty with the colorful leaves falling. We got so used to the corn there that we didn't want them to harvest it! But, we also were very excited because we knew we could watch the whole process up close for as long as we liked. It started last Monday when my siblings and I were raking leaves outside. We heard a noise coming from down the road, when we looked, it was a combine coming to harvest the field! It was amazing to watch it harvest all of that corn! Harvesting a corn field is a long process. It took them 1 1/2 days to finish. Now that the corn is all harvested it feels so weird to drive past or look out our living room windows because now it's so bare and just a big empty piece of land!

The combine starting on the field!

A close up on the corn transferring into the truck to be carried away. I never  have seen SO MUCH corn!

Halloween 2013

Happy Halloween! Here are some pictures from our trick or treating. I was a witch, Camille a cat, Seth a cowboy, Gabe an indian, and Zeddie a mouse.

Before trick or treating with some friends.
Zeddie loved going house to house getting candy! And he would never forget to say thank you.
Zeddie and my dad.
This is the candy I got.  Every Halloween night after trick or treating we always go home and sort our candy. It's so much fun! I had the most snickers and kit kats.

Polka dots!

Polka dots are on our drive way! The ice has popped up in some places making the side walks and driveways in our neighborhood look like someone painted polka dots all over!
Look at these cool pictures!

Happy Birthday to me!

I am 13 now! I got my ears pierced as you can kind of see in the picture below. I had a plain homemade cheese cake (the best cake there could ever be). I got 2 new outfits for my American Girl doll, a snowflake headband, 3 books, 3 mangoes, 2 pairs of earings, and 2 roses.

A closer look at my cake.

Collage of Zeddie's first nine months

This is a collage that I made on PicMonkey of some of my favorite pictures from when He was  just a few hours old to when he was Nine months. Isn't he just SO cute??

Christmas 2012

CHRISTMAS EVE:

Our tradition is every Christmas Eve to have a Bethlehem dinner. Basically we just eat what Mary and Joseph would have eaten : goat cheese, pita bread, dates, etc around the fire place. We also add sparkling soda just for fun. After that we have a CHRISTMAS lesson that my Grandmother made and gave to us. It has kind of become a tradition too. Then comes all of the kids favorite part. Opening our new Christmas Eve jammys! Every Christmas eve we get to open new jammys and sleep in them on Christmas night. This year my mom also added a alarm clock/radio one for the girls and one for the boys so that we could go to sleep to the Christmas radio. Here are some pictures:

Everyone in their new jammys. This year the boys matched and the girls matched.

CHRISTMAS DAY:

Our traditions for Christmas Day are that no one can get out of bed until 7:00 a.m.  ( I guess that's kind of  a rule). Our real traditions are that everyone gets three presents. A useful present, a meaningful present, and a surprise present. Also each of the kids get little presents for each other (with their own money) and also a stocking stuffer. My useful was a outfit to wear to church, my meaningful was a suitcase with my initials on it, and my surprise was an American Girl doll. I named her Luna.

All of our presents.

Merry Christmas!
