Yep, that's me! We have had a crazy busy month or so and I have just not taken the time to blog. Really, I have nothing interesting to write about anyway. But then again, I rarely have anything interesting to blog about and I do anyway. I get a thrill out of boring you.
A few weeks ago, the boys, my mom and I went to Lincoln to pick hubby up from WLC. My mom took his car back and he rode back with us. We spent some time at the Lincoln Children's Zoo and went for a late lunch at Lazlo's. I love their onion rings and could make a meal out of just those, but I did order something else too. Goober threw a monstrous fit in Lazlo's. He very rarely throws fits in public. In fact, in his almost three years of life, I can count on one hand how many he has thrown. We had spent hours at the zoo and he needed to wash his hands before we ate and he just wasn't having any of that. I carried him into the bathroom and he laid on the bathroom floor and yelled. It was awesome. Once we got some food in him, he went back to being my sweet little boy! We had a great day and it was nice to have an extra set of hands again. We battled the stomach flu while hubby was gone, so I was extra glad to have him home. He usually takes a couple of weeks off in the summer, so one of those weeks was after he got back. The boys loved having him home!
The following weekend, we had the roofers come out and replace the shingles on the house. What a boring way to spend 8 grand. Think of the vacation we could have taken! I will include pictures soon. We have been doing some other improvements to the outside, so I want to post before and after shots. I did learn a valuable lesson while they were here. It is not a very good idea to pee in the bathroom that has a skylight when there are eight guys on your roof. Enough said. :(
My birthday was earlier this week. Hubby and Goober made me a cake. I heard Goober sneeze a few times during this process. That made it extra special I guess. I had a nice birthday. I spent the day at home with the boys (like every other day) and when hubby came home, we went out for supper. The food was awful, but it was nice to spend some time with them.
Hubby leaves for AT this weekend and we have decided that when he gets back, we are going on a honeymoon. After we got married, we spent a few weeks in Europe on the staff
Nebraska Ambassadors of Music, which was awesome, but we had about 300+ other people touring with us and we were each in charge of a bunch of teenagers. We have been on a few high school band trips with his classes and to Arkansas to his parent's vacation home. We also went to Hawaii a few summers ago, but that was an Army thing. So, other than a few trips to Omaha for the weekend, we have never had a trip together! The boys are staying with my parents, which Goober is beside himself with excitement about and we are going to hop in the car and start driving west. I am very excited about it! Hubby and I do not take enough time for each other and this is much needed.
Now, I better include some pictures of the boys! My sister informed me that she gets very upset when there aren't pictures of the boys, who she affectionately calls, "The Littles."
