IT'S A BOY!!!

Well yesterday was my ultrasound and this time we decided to find out what we were having. It is a boy!! Lynley was very disappointed. She told me yesterday before my appointment that she didn't want two brothers. And even after I told her it was a boy she continued to ask if I could make it a girl. I told her what's done is done! Thank goodness she'll have four months to get used to the idea of having another brother. Clark has no clue what is going on but will love the baby to pieces no matter what. We had a girl name all ready to go but now we have to come up with a boy name. Adam and I don't agree very much when it comes to boy names so wish us luck! May 1st here we come!!

Happy Halloween!

So, I've tried yet once again to get some damn pictures up on this blog and all it gives me is a bunch of writing.....anyone have any suggestions?? It was working a month ago--now it's not. I didn't do anything different--maybe I need to take a computer class....I shall keep trying!
Anyways,
I can't believe Halloween has come and gone--October flew by way too fast. The kids had fun with all the festivities this year--especially since Daddy was here this year to take them trick-or-treating. We did the traditional pumpkin carving--Clark didn't want to touch anything inside the pumpkin so he just played with some of the seeds I pulled out. Lynley was determined to get everything out of the pumpkin and even draw her own face--she said she was going to be brave this year. Then on Halloween night we went to Grandma's for chili and pumpkin pie and then off to go trick-or-treating with cousins Madi and Kenna. Lynley was Hannah Montana and Clarkie was a cowboy. I know--real creative with the costumes. The kids had a blast and when we were done, Lynley got in the car and as soon as she sat down she said, "Ugh, my feet are killing me!" I felt the same way! Now only three weeks until Thanksgiving! I promise as soon as I get this computer figured out, I'll post pictures from the last month.

Birthday Girl!

So I've tried numerous times to post a blog with some pictures, but for some reason my pictures will not go through. Hmmm.....I'll have to keep working on that one. Lynley's birthday was a couple of weeks ago and she is the big 4! She had a wonderful day filled with a little shopping, lunch with Grandma, pizza for dinner, cake and ice cream and all the Hannah Montana stuff Grandma could find for her! She asked me on the day of her birthday if she was taller! Such a funny little girl. I know mothers say this all the time, but I really can't believe I have a 4 year old.....and that I'll have three kids by May! Crazy! Lynley is such a fun little girl. She's very witty for her age and likes to makes jokes all the time. Right now she's into playing dress up, loves coloring and drawing, and jumping on her tramp outside. She also built herself a playhouse with scrap wood that we had in the backyard the other day. She's very creative. Anyways, enough bragging, but I couldn't imagine life without her and I love her to pieces!! Happy belated birthday Baby!

Where has the time gone....

Well, I told you I wouldn't be very good at this blogging thing! The time just seems to fly by way too fast. We're just finishing up the spud harvest here in Shelley...the perks of living out in the boonies! So, Lynley didn't have school last week or this week. She's a little confused why her teacher didn't want to have school (obviously my explanation wasn't good enough!). But we've been trying to get things ready around the house for the winter. Staining the deck, putting up storage shelves, raking leaves, etc. etc. I've also been canning like a mad woman...I actually did most of it this year all by myself. I'm pretty proud! I did pears, peaches, applesauce, and salsa. I'm going to finish off the canning season by doing some peach freezer jam with my mom on Thursday and then I'm done!!

I love Fall--it's my favorite season of the year! The colors changing, the cooler weather, football, everything! I'm ready to snuggle in for the winter. We had a fun family trip to Yellowstone a few weeks ago for my birthday. Instead of presents I wanted to go to Yellowstone, which is one of my favorite places. I spent a lot of time in Island Park, Macks Inn, and Yellowstone growing up so I feel it is a second home to me. The kids had a great time (mainly because Grandma and Grandpa came with us!) They got to see elk (Lynley calls them reindeer) and buffalo in the park. Also, we saw some coyotes. Between the hot tub in the hotel and seeing all the animals and going to the Imax, the kids thought we were in heaven! It was a great birthday present! Lynley gets to celebrate her 4th birthday next week and she's pretty stoked! I can't believe she's going to be 4 already. She's already asking when it's going to snow--and I keep telling her, that in Idaho--it could be tomorrow! You just never know!

Preschool!

Well, my baby started preschool on Monday. She was ssssooooo ready! She was excited to wear her Hannah Montana shirt and new backpack--which is way too big but was what she wanted! She decided that she is going to brush her teeth everyday before she goes to school--all by herself!

I made her brave the cold Idaho morning and take the infamous picture in front of the front door. Notice her backpack is hanging below her bum!

Here she is walking into her school. By the second day she told me I could leave once she got to the door! Such a big girl! And Thursdays are show and tell days....ya, forgot that one today! I didn't realize that we had forgotten until I pulled up to her school and saw some other kid toting his cat carrier in. I felt really bad, but luckily Lynley (being the little smartie she is) decided to improvise and show everyone her new Princess folder and Hannah Montana notebook. So I now have it written in my planner to have her take something every Thursday.

Clark wasn't sure what to do while Lynley was gone to school. I must be really boring! I'm sure in time he'll realize he has full access to all the toys and look forward to when she's gone.
Kids just grow way too fast!!

My Birthday Boys!!

On Saturday we celebrated Clarkie's 2nd birthday and Adam's 29th birthday! Their birthdays were actually on Sunday, but decided to do all the birthday stuff on Saturday. I kept telling Adam the whole time I was pregnant with Clark, that there was a good chance that we would have him on his birthday. I wasn't actually due until September 6th, but a mother's intuition is usually right! Anyways, after talking to the doctor and deciding that I couldn't handle the 24/7 pain I had been in for the last 5 months, that he would start me a week early. Well, the only day that the hospital wasn't booked (yes, I was surprised myself) was Adam's birthday, August 31st. So, I was scheduled to be induced that morning at 8:00. Well, the night before my Mom and I were sitting watching TV waiting for Adam to get home from his bishopric meeting and I started to have some strong "Braxton Hicks" contractions. Not thinking anything of them went to bed and immediately went into labor. So off to the hospital we went and Clark arrived at 4:59 a.m. on August 31st. 6 hours of labor was definitely better than the 31 hours it took Lynley to get here. We had a little birthday party in the hospital room that day for Adam--he was proud to have his little boy on his birthday.

So Saturday we spent the morning at Blast Off then off to McDonald's for some Happy Meals. After lunch we went to open presents at Grandma's house and to put the kids down for their naps. While Grandma babysat for a few hours, Adam and I went to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls and then over to Olive Garden for dinner for his birthday. Then back to Grandma's for cake and ice cream and then home to crash in bed! Whew! What a day--but what a really fun day. Lynley was pretty ticked that she didn't get to have a birthday that day since Dad AND Clark both got to have their birthdays! She's asked everyday since if it's her birthday yet! It's going to be a long 6 weeks until hers gets here!
