Missing you...

My precious darling is only 6 days old today...he's so small, yet so fragile...

Darling, i hope you are ok there, i'm sure all the nurses there will take good care of you... Like what Aunty Estee said, you will be alright and daddy and mummy are missing you every minute...

this is only the 6th day of your view of the world, yet you've gotta be separated from us. staring at your empty cot and smiley pictures teared me, although you may not know, you have already carved a position in our hearts...

i now know who you look like..ofcos us, but i can see you in your daddy! When i looked at him now, i saw you... you really resembles him a lot... whenever people ask, i will know what to say... you really look a lot like your daddy...

Cant imagine you can recognise my voice out of the many noises around you, you really are my precious little one... we will go see you first thing in the morning... sleep well tonight... Jesus loves you, and we too...

Smile!

Little Jayden loves smiling when i sing elmo song to him or repeat some words over and over again! Yesterday we tried looking for an elmo that could sing Elmo Song but couldnt find...anyone has any idea where to find it?

Reading Time

While DenDen was wide awake just now, i read a chinese story book to him and showed him the pictures! He looked really curious and when i repeat certain phrases, he would break into a smile! Hmm.. smart boy!!!

Sun Tan

Jayden has slight Jaundice so we need to sun him. Tomorrow he'll have to see Dr Lillian again..hopefully his jaundice level has dropped!

Day Out

Today DenDen has to see Dr Lillian for checkup. I'm so excited because it's our first day out! I dun look like i've just given birth 5 days ago right?! Hee...

Honey getting ready for the outing too! :)

Jayden is 3.1kg now, doing very well! Dr Lillian said he's progressing really well, though still have slight jaundice but shouldnt be worrying. He cried during the visit and we were really panicky!! Thank God my aunt followed us there and we could do some marketing at NTUC after that. Later we'll leave him at home then i'll go for my gynae visit. We thought of a few places to go...AVENT showroom and Suntec! Haha... Shh... if my mum hears of it she'll go crazy! A woman running out after giving birth! :) Oh DenDen was really a good boy yesterday, slept for close to 4 hours before waking up for his milk! Talking about milk... waaa...abundance! I can easily pump out 120ml, this is my 2nd day "milking"! Hmm... sounds like a mother cow! ;P

On the Job Training

Being parents for the first time is definitely not an easy task! We haveto learn as we go along and thank God for all the very helpful friends and relatives we've got, helping us every step of the way! Here is Dearie learning how to burp DenDen.. haha..baby looked like a little teddy bear on his lap!
Den smiled at daddy a while before this picture was taken... his smile is really heart warming! All babies have the power to melt the hearts of their parents!

Fresh Fresh DenDen

Dearie getting Denden ready for his 1st bathe at home!
My aunt bathing him, clearly Denden freaked out!
But look at him! sleeping so soundly after the fresh clothings were put on, and ofcos his feed of milk! :)

Introducing...Jayden!

The long awaited moment has finally arrived o n Saturday for Gary and myself! Shall not go into the delivery process because it's a long and painstaking event.. cos only when we look at the "end-product" will we forget and appreciate!

God is indeed wonderful, blessing us with such a cute baby! So here's Day One of Jayden's birth, on Saturday, 24th June 2006.

That's me and baby Jayden! Hee...he's so cute!

Arrived..

Just now we went to Dr Yv cos my contractions were really unbearable! Guess what... Jayden is on his way now! By tomorrow this time, he would have been born for over 5 hours!

I will have to go into the hospital at 6am... Dr predicted Den will take 8 hours to surface. That's pretty exciting! Wont be blogging after this... in the next entry, you'll see our son!!

Hot Water

Today i survived on hot water alone...cant imagine that huh! Felt like a polar bear going on hibernation... everytime gary called and asked what i'm doing, the same answer "sleeping"..

dunno what's wrong with me today also.. cant eat..vomitted and LS... sigh... hot water is the best food for now.. hope Jayden isnt very affected by mummy's hibernation mode. Heard babies will still eat and put on weight even though mummy doesnt! *what do they eat?!

Thanks Wil & Jess ;)

Wilson dropped by just now to pass us some clothes for DenDen. They're so cute! Now we dun have to buy more clothes! Thanks Wilson & Jessie! (We'll keep them well, for your No.2!)

When?

Never know waiting for baby to arrive can be pretty unbearable! Especially I'm all alone at home..so boring! Yesterday i coudnt sleep at all because DenDen was moving way too much! I just stared at the clock, stared at Honey sleeping peacefully...went to sit with Bunnie in the kitchen... drank some milk then stared at everything again... sigh...

This is the time where anxiety kicks in! Wonder what signs to expect, when and when! Though Dr Yv said latest is next wed or thur... there could be a chance he'll arrive before that.. but when?! wait.... wait... wait...

Visit Dr again

Today we visited Dr Yv again, i could hardly sleep yesterday as i wondered what would she tell me about Jayden!

Good news is Den is now 2.8kg, doing very well in fact. He has dropped and i am already 1+cm dilated. I thought we could deliver him by this week but chances of jaundice would be high, until we wait till he's 38 weeks old at least. We could settle for that, since it's just another week. He didnt seem that huge now so probably we dun even need to induce him. Gary and i were thinking of letting God and Jayden decide when he should be out. So patiently we'll wait.

We pray that God will give us clear signs of labour though...

Cottoney Night

Hey what's this? Haha... cotton balls! We're getting ready for Den's arrival...these cotton balls will come in handy to clean his pipi and when he washes his face! :)

Honey looked so stone making the cotton balls!! Haha... I was like "eh...why this so big? why now so small?" :P

Bought Den another little shorts. He only has one and i thought we better get another one :) so cute!

Gingers

Look at the gingers! They are said to be very good after giving birth! I heard these are still not enough..more are on the way! :O

2.6kg

Jayden is now 2.6kg! Yippee! Dr Yvonne estimated about 2.3kg but looks like baby is progressing really well! We'll see her again next Monday and she'll see if the cervix is dilated a bit or not, then we can go ahead with the delivery! My... so by next week Den should be able to see our world!

We saw him through the scan and he's suckling on the placenta! Dr Yvonne said it's normal because he's "practising" his suckling skills. Seems like he's swallowing some liquid in the process too. We had our admission "passport" and from now on we have to bring it wherever we go, in case Den wants to surface earlier.

Dr said baby has really long legs, i wasnt surprise since he always displays his power kicks! Not forgetting Daddy is a "long" guy! Now we are really panicky, to think that our son will arrive soon! It hasnt really sink into us yet! My.... So how does it feel? Like what Shaun said, this little guy is someone so familiar yet so much like a stranger too. Honey said Den will think "Is that you mummy? so pretty!" Haha...

I will continue to eat my best so that he'll hit 3kg when he surface. I am now 50.5kg. Haha..Dr said it's good loh... :)

Visit to Dr Yvonne again

Tomorrow we'll be visiting Dr Yvonne again. I'm really excited because we're hoping to see how baby is doing. Honey guessed his weight will be 2.657kg while i guessed he'll be 2.555kg. haha... let's see! Dr Yvonne said that he'll have to hit 2.7kg before we decided when to "surface" him! Probably by tomorrow we'll have a clearer picture then! Update you soon! ;)

Going to 36th

Jayden has crossed his 35 weeks of incubation (sounds like some penguins!) and now going on to the 36th week... my colleagues yesterday were like "eh...u still around ah! Anytime le leh" Oh well....yeah..still incubating mah...haha..

I certainly do feel the weight now and sometimes still get a bit nausea. Backache is not getting better but thinking that i can finally see my little "penguin" brings me much comfort and strength! The thought of labour is simply daunting... everyday i prayed for smooth delivery and ofcos "bearable pain"

We will be seeing Dr Yvonne this monday to see if DenDen is at the right weight and determine when is a good time to help him out to see our world. It sure is an exciting thought! (Den is kicking with agreement now!) :)

Getting Ready

Today, we took out all DenDen's clothings and whatever that needs to be washed.. look...a basket full of his stuffs! Gary's gonna handwash them :)

Hicks

I have finally come to terms with the "contractions"...read up on them...they were strong Braxton Hicks and will start kicking in hard when labour is round the corner, about 2 weeks...

Mine were really "special"..they usually start at 7pm and would cease at 12am... imagine having to go through that for the next 2 weeks or so!!! Yesterday, it was so painful that i started crying during service! Waa.... So now... i'll be out of action in the evening, if i can cos, that's the onset timing... My mother in law was quite angry with Honey for allowing me to go for the conferences and walking here and there... These few days i'll be good and stay at home to rest :)

Contractions

These few days have been quite unbearable. I have been having on and off contractions, which are painful. Braxton hicks are supposedly painless..but what i'm experiencing are sharp pains! Hmm... is DenDen on the way already?!
