Warning: What you are about to read will be a proud Moms writings about her favorite little guy and how big he's getting and how much she loves him and how cool she thinks he is and so on and so on...
Today is my first borns fifth birthday.
I will skip over the "I can't believe five years ago today we were heading to the hospital to welcome this little boy into the world" and jump straight to the "I can't believe how fast time has flown by and how he's growing up so quickly."
In all seriousness, this little boy is my world.
He is so serious, and so sensitive. He listens and is obedient. He is playful and cautious. He is smart and artistic. He enjoys choosing to eat a healthy diet and doesn't eat too much sugar. He is genuinely sweet and a little timid at first. He has a bowl of life cereal as soon as he wakes up, and goes to bed with his tag every night. He is sassy and strong willed. He is reverent, and kind.
He teaches me daily how to love to the fullest.
Now, let's move on to the many faces of Tate:
1. A posed smile. While this may not be a genuine smile, it is still so him because it's who he is right now. When I command a smile, this is what I get. Also, I have to note that he blinks a million times when the camera is turned on him. Added to that is an inability to hold still or feel relaxed and walla - you've got a little boy who is hard to photograph.
2. A classic silly face. Tate's classic silly face. A face I would like to tag to his four/five year old memories not to be forgotten.
3. A genuine smile. Albiet he is talking... but it's genuine.
4. A sweet little look. The look that could get the boy anything he wanted.
(His ear... just to break it up a little).
5. A blank expression. One that shows off how beautiful he is to me.
6. A cute button nose. Certainly not my genetics.
7. A profile to prove #6.
8. A set of lips. Lucky for me I get to kiss them daily.
The sweetest big brothers a little sister could ask for.
Watching Tate be a big brother are some of my most rewarding moments.
