Mad Painter

The idea started with a single piece of furniture that I wanted to paint a fun shade of green.
It ended seven pieces of furniture later.
One of those being Ella's crib. Their room has always been a conglomeration of random pieces and colors. Not to mention overcrowded. It's all white now, and I took the "changing table" which is really a kitchen cart out. A little rearranging, some furniture to go on KSL, and I am loving the overhaul my house just got... I'm also happy not to have anything I think I could paint.

Location

The other day we went for a little ride to look at a location to take pictures of this cute little boy.
Lucky for me, maybe not so lucky for Tate, he is always my test subject. Most of the time he cooperates. This time he wasn't up for more than a couple of shots.
Thanks Linsdey for the tip on this location, it was perfect for what I needed!

Evening Walks

We go on a walk almost everynight because both kids love it, and I love it when they are happy.
Last night Tate threw a massive fit on our walk because we were not going the way he wanted. He was showing his true colors for all the neighbors to see. Regardless, it was beautiful.

Recipe To Share

I made this for dinner last night and thought it was a tasty little dish. It's basically the first thing I've made in the last 6 months since having Ella. I lost any and all interest in cooking the moment she joined our lives. My poor husband. Speaking of, he also liked it - and that can be a hard task. I got the recipe from the Fall 2008 Kraft Food & Family, and you can get it here.

P.S. The 1 cup baking mix (for all of you that may not know what that is - I had to ask my mom) it's just bisquick mix

Clumsy Me

Cole and I went on the moonlight ride up at Sundance the other night. It was beautiful and on and on. We bundled up in our winter coats and a blanket with hats and headed up the lift. I took my tripod in hopes that they would let us off at the top. They didn't, and on the way down I dropped it. Cole asked is that secure and I reassured him that it was. Then I couldn't find my lens cap anywhere and was positive that I just set in down on my lap not thinking. Then I somehow lost my rubber band for my hair. It just wasn't my night. When I got home my rubberband was caught between my back and my shirt. The next morning I took the camera out and the lens cap was on it. I thought Cole was teasing me and he really had it the whole time, but I must have put it on without realizing it. Then I drove back up to Sundance and told them where I dropped it. They went up and got it for me. Everything ended up working out. I told Cole I must be pregnant! The odds of that are 99.9% negative, so we'll just cling to that for now!

Cabin Away

We had another weekend getaway up at the cabin.
No worries, forgetting life, and just enjoying mother nature with none other than family.
We had fun swinging, watching movies, eating, going to Midway and Park City, playing with bubbles, driving Alan's remote control car, going on walks, and the best part - staying up late with other adults after the kiddos go to bed playing games.
My new favorite game is Vegas Showdown.
If you haven't played it you should.
Better yet, I'll go buy it! Give us a call and we can teach you how to play.
I can basically guarantee your satisfaction.

New Found Fav

You may already know about this blog, but it is new to me and I am in love with it!
I kept Tate out of pre-school this year and I am feeling a little bad about it for a number of reasons. One of those being that I feel like he may not be learning as much as he should be, or doing the fun little things that other kids his age are.
The blog is called No Time For Flash Cards and it has fun ideas to do with your kids and things to help teach them. I am really going to try to commit some time to sit down with him and have some fun learning time. We'll see how it goes, but check it out. It's a goody!

Movie Clip Party

We were up at our family cabin over the weekend and played the movie clip party while there. Do to lack of time I only took this clip. Never the less, it was enough. Could be the fact that it was really late, or because I can't not laugh at Steve Carell - but I had one of those laugh so hard your stomach feels like you just did a million crunches kind of laughs! I'll have to come up with my other four favorites, but for now, enjoy this scene from Bruce Almighty.

Change Of Plans

We headed up the canyon to hike the caves. Once we got there we found out that you need to get tickets in advance due to the fact that they sell out - who knew? So we went up to the reservoir to hike around and let the kids have fun. I love getting out and wonder why I don't do it more often when there are so many beautiful places so close.

We sent the kids to hike up the side of the meadow. It was a good climb for them.

Ella was perfect. I think she likes getting out as much as I do. So far she seems to reflect my personality more. I would have to say Tate is more his fathers son.

They both fell asleep on the way home and we had a nice drive through the Alpine Loop.

So... If you have me bookmarked, in your reader, linked to your blog, (THANKS - I love you!!) etc. please change the URL to:

jessieonealphotography.blogspot.com

This will be in effect in one week from today, so Friday Sept. 12th
Please take a minute and do it so you can continue to be my fans!
Thanks!

...and a huge thanks to everyone that has helped spread the word!
