[7:32 PM]
the velveteen rabbit
full text here.

"What is REAL?" asked the Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery fender, before Nana came to tidy the room. "Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?"

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.

"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."

"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"

"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

"I suppose you are real?" said the Rabbit. And then he wished he had not said it, for he thought the Skin Horse might be sensitive. But the Skin Horse only smiled.

"The Boy's Uncle made me Real," he said. "That was a great many years ago; but once you are Real you can't become unreal again. It lasts for always."

add:
Your Blog Should Be Green

Your blog is smart and thoughtful - not a lot of fluff.
You enjoy a good discussion, especially if it involves picking apart ideas.
However, you tend to get easily annoyed by any thoughtless comments in your blog.
What Color Should Your Blog or Journal Be?

how funny, it's true!

[7:04 PM]
I checked my statcounter last night and realised that quite a few people still read this daily so I suppose I ought to give you all something new to read eh?

Well anyways, it's the end of the September hols already and school, together with the hell-crazy schedules mugging and all, starts again tomorrow. I am however, VERY glad that I will not be facing exams tomorrow so to the people who will be starting prelims tomorrow, I wish you all the best and may you put your absolute trust in God's wonderful plan for you (:

Well anyway, life's been great the past few weeks. In two words, HELL FUN (: I don't mean to rub it in that I've finished my prelims but well, if you're having prelims tomorrow, I don't think you should be here reading the rubbish I'm writing anyway. And besides, you'll all get your share of fun after your exams as well. There's still some stuff I didn't manage to do though. Like clear my table, get properly started on my applications and start on Naruto. The last one I blame Boris because he wasn't free enough during the hols to invite Weiliang and I over to watch together *hmph. I have started on Weiliang's Samurai Champloo and I only have one word -- SUGOI!!! Haha. It has a brilliant plot, brilliant lines, brilliant soundtrack, aiyah, it's totally brilliant haha. I'm currently at 10 already. I was hoping to finish till 18 tonight then at the rate I'm watching, I'd be able to finish the whole series in 3 days heh. But then I doubt that I'll be able to watch much tonight because I'd rather watch TV heh.

Well anyway, that's all for today's update, I'll be getting back my results by the end of this week, so stay tuned to see what happens! Ja!
