Sisters visit / Dallin's Birthday

Talena taking it easy.

Mariah is a little protective of this bowl of Corn Pops Supreme (Talena's creation). If looks could kill....

Dallin got to celebrate with his cousins here too! He loved his Ice Cream cake.

Make a wish!

Hotel Olsen

These pictures are a little old, but what the hey. Above is Anissa's own creation of cheese soup in bread bowls. We tried this out while the Kerr's and Wickhams were here. YUMMY!

The girls (Mariah, Anissa, and Talena) gettin' on the groove with some sweet Karaoke tunes. Tyler is looking to see if they are singing a real song...

Lounging during General Conference...

The kids living it up with a zillion hot wheels cars while the adults pretend they're not there...

Even more marathon pics

Running the final stretch...nice form, nice form!!
Right after crossing the finish line with my Dad.
OK, seriously...take a look. Does that look like the face of someone that just RAN 26 MILES??? Way to go Anissa! You are my hero!

More marathon pics

This is right after mile 19 at Bart and Lisa's house. Go ANISSA!!
Running inside for a quick bio break - thanks for getting the door Bart!
In and out in a flash, and back on the road for the next 7 miles. Woo hoo!!
Anxiously awaiting Anissa at the finish line...had to take a picture of the banners.
And here she is!! She clocked in at 4 hrs 45 minutes and absolutely looked great. In fact, someone asked her if she wanted to run a marathon again, and her answer was YES (can you believe she would say that after running 26 miles?)

Marathon Day

I successfully surprised Anissa and came to see her here in SLC for marathon day. Here we are as we dropped her off at the start of the race. She was absolutely AWESOME!! The route ran right by my brother Bart's house (thanks Bart and Lisa for letting us stay with you) and we got to see her right after mile 19. I have to say that there were so many people sucking wind and looking like they were going to pass out, and then here came Anissa, striding along like she just started. She seriously is awesome. I'll let her tell the story but since I have a great camera and have a lot of fun taking pictures with it, I must post the pictures!

Week 12, 13, 14, and 15! Wow, where has the time gone?

I can't believe marathon week is here! This last month has gone by so fast. We have had tons of family come visit and we have enjoyed it so much. Brent's brother, Devin, and then his parents and his sister, Janae. Then the next week my dad, my sister, Talena, and her family and then my sister, Mariah, and her family, And my sister, Kirsha, that lives close came off and on during that time. It has been a blast. It has actually been good for me because it has helped me to not freak out about doing a marathon. Now that everyone is gone I AM FREAKING OUT!!! I am anxious, excited, so many emotions all in one. Week 12 and 13 were my longest runs at 18 miles each. After week 13, I was soooo sore. My feet were giving me lots of problems so I took a couple of days off during week 14 and rested. I am so glad I did because it really helped. I iced my feet everyday and took some pain killer. I am so glad week 14 and 15 had shorter runs -- only 8 and 9 milers. When it gets closer to race day, you start tapering your miles down to get ready for race day. In fact, this week I only do two 3-milers and then tomorrow I only WALK 3 miles. Now that is going to be hard to do.

I just wanted to write one last time before race day. I am flying to Utah tomorrow and wanted to tell everyone thank you for the positive comments and believe in me. I have the best support system! Thanks everyone!

Happy Birthday Dallin!

Dallin's birthday is April 6 but we started celebrating on Friday. He got a new scooter and took his friend Jace to Scandia to miniature golf, ride race cars, and play games.

On his way out the front door to try out the new scooter!

Jace and Dallin playing miniature golf.

On the racetrack defying all speed limits....

Visit to Stinson Beach

We went to Stinson Beach while Janae and my parents were here. It was a lot of fun. The beach looked great but it was too cold for my taste. I'm used to the nice warm beaches in the south I guess.

Here is Derek and Grandpa at Stinson Beach.

Visit from Kirsha

Anissa's sister Kirsha came to visit. Here are some pictures from her visit! Kirsha made this sweater for Derek. As you can see from his face, he likes it!
