He ain't heavy..he is my brother

Mummy Catherine invited us to her place for a chinese new year gathering on the 3rd day of cny. Most of the babies there are august babies, some were due earlier in july. It was a great get-together and mummy Catherine was so thoughful to even brought some baby food jars for the babies.

While other of the babies are napping and playing, Kynan and Issac were laying on the play mat. The other mummies including me and Issac's mummy, Constance thinks that they looks like brother. It's was lots of joy seeing the babies growing at the same time.

Our new neighbour, Peter and Cindy with their son Pierre moved in last Dec 2008. And since then our beautiful neighbourhood just got more lively with our laughters!

Both Peter and Cindy loved Kynan so much, most nights they would come over and kiss Kynan goodnight or if Kynan is still awake they would cuddle him over and play with him. They think Kynan resemble Pierre GorGor when he's at 4 months old.

I enjoyed talking to Cindy as she is a very bubbly happy mummy! She is an inspiring mummy to me too! Peter is also a super Daddy and i think a super darling too..he's very supportive to Cindy and almost everytime he will be Pierre best playmate for his fave Thomas and friends!

Eric and Peter are football fans although they support different team but they share alot of thoughts about the games and players news over coffee while the mummies will be talking and laughing about almost anything..and everything!

Gina who is also our neighbour at the next few block will bring Brayden to Cindy's house to play with Pierre. The 2 boys are about the same age of 6 months gap, and we will either crowd at Pierre's room or will be over my place happily chatting in my kitchen.

We are so blessed with wonderful peoples around us! We thanked God for them and our beautiful neighbourhood! And Kynan is so blessed with a loving family who loves him so much.

Always in our prayers! The laughters just got merrier!

We brought Kynan for his 1st haircut before chinese new year, Kynan have very little fine hairs. His hairs is actually very silky, i enjoys blowing his hairs and smelling them!

He didn't quite enjoy the haircut as he was fussy and moving away from the stylist, we went to the children's salon at united square and hence the stylist is very experienced.

The awesome boy gets mummy's BIG hugzz

Today is Kynan 2nd lesson at Little Neuro Tree, last week lesson was conducted in japanese by Tomoko sensei and today's lesson is conducted in chinese by Miss Wang.

Daddy joined us at the class today! He sat thru the 1st half of the session with Kynan so that he could learn some of the activity and do home practice during playtime.

Kynan's concentration span is getting longer too, i observe that his concentration span during last week japanese class was about 30mins and today chinese class was about 50mins. At the end of the class, Miss Wang even praise Kynan for being attentive in class. We gave Kynan a big hug and tell him how awesome he have been, he just tuck his head into mummy's chest. We're so glad that he is learning and having fun altogether.

A million word says it alls...

Kynan have been babbling alot recently..and YES.. in a 'high pitch' tone!I have been singing 'Ponyo fish' song to him in a very high pitch voice. Maybe it did spurs him to talk or rather sing?

Anyway it's just simply make us laugh! It's great talking to him!

Last Saturday we attended baby Jake's 1st birthday, we had a great time there meeting many others babies. Eric, Kern Ming and Choon Boon are uni classmate and their babies are born in the same year 2008.

These super dads...i tease them. They could do almost everything except breastfeeding!@~@ Praise God for them! God bless their fatherhood!

Today's lunch special !

Fresh from apple garden!..

Made with love apple puree

--- Ingredients ---

~ a packet of organic red apples ( about 10 in a pkt)

* But i will only use 3 apples a time, as i prefer to make it fresher.

* 1 cube is = 15ml. 3 apples make 10 cubes.

---Prep ---

~ wash apple, quarter..peel and core them.

~ put all apples into a small stainless steel bowl and steam over waters for 10 mins, till tender.

~ remove and cool for few mins before pouring into processor to puree to smooth texture.

~ add little of water from the steaming bowl to blender to get right consisitency.

** a treat for mummy... the water from steaming the apples tastes much better than apple juice! It's naturally sweet and have a great aroma, let it chill before you drink...or else u have a warm AJ.

** Gina's book suggests boiling the apples, but i prefer steaming than boiling to preserve more of the nutrients in the fruit.

Kynan's 1st solids

Last saturday 10 Jan '09 i gave Kynan's his 1st solids, I got him Healthy times organic brown rice cereal for the start. I am currently following very closely to Gina Ford's book on weaning, she's is a great author and have brilliant books on parenting. Another references is a book for baby organic recipes, i have intended to introduce organic food as part of Kynan 1st few years diet.

I personally think organic produce are great! Not only it's more healthier, it tastes better.Those with antibiotics, hormones and pesticide could affect his immune system, i wouldn't say that everything have to be organic but at least for the 1st few foods to start and for 1st few years of his diet.

'' when it comes to babies and young children i believe passionately that it is our duty to give them the purest and best food available, particularly during the first two years of their life when the building of their immune system is so dependent upon the food they eat.'' ... Gina Ford.

My great little diner on my dining table for lunch today is Kynan, he enjoys food like me! I start with 1 tbsp of cereal mixed with my expressed breastmilk, he feeds on so well and finish it in 5mins. I was still concern if he's sallowing too fast, i went ahead to prepare 1 more tbsp for him.

This hearty little diner surely gives me alot of motivation!

Grandma's tales of love

My grandma, a mother's best friend!

Being the eldest granddaughther in the family, i am exceptional close to my grandma. There are so much things i remember doing with her, although she is illiterate but she is blessed with great wisdom. There are so much to talk about her, many times she was my over lunch topic with my friends. Yeah...most of my friends knows her and her big hair @~@

Grandma is back in New York now and would call me almost every few days, to ask about her dear great grandson..Kynan. When i first start this blog, partly i would love to share Kynan's growing to her thru here. Although she do not understand what i had write here but thru the pictures i had post, she told me she is contented to see me enjoying motherhood.

There are so much we talk about over the phone everytime,although mostly are about Kynan and yeah...also my shopping list for her in NewYork. I love New york city, it's a magical city!

The past few days Kynan has been very cranky especially in the afternoon, unlike in the past he use to takes nap very well. As suggested in Gina Ford's book, one of the few signs babies maybe ready for weaning when their naps time become erratical.This was also one of the considering factors that i have decide to wean him.My mum was at my place and worried why Kynan was cranky and not taking nap, he slept awhile and woke up and again. When she told my grandma, grandma called me the friday night and sang me a song over the phone.I just cried... she sang 2 songs...and i cried.

Grandma was concern and ask why Kynan wasn't sleeping well at nap? And ask me to sing like she did to Kynan. What a beautiful love! She then told me when i was a baby and didn't sleep, she would sing me those songs.

My grandma...being illiterate she would compose songs to sing to the Lord. No lyrics written, no musical notes. Just her own tune, she praise the Lord!

Breeze at Chip Bee garden..

I had lunch with Bridget at Bistro Salut today and took a short walk along Chip Bee garden. The weather was really cooling and we enjoyed the short walk, it brings us back alot of memories when we were still in our early 20s.. @~@ those were the days! There's once, me..June & Shelin was doing grill at Bridg's place.Till now i never forget the salad Bridg make for us!

I love Chip Bee garden, there are a few of my fave shops there. Pantry magic is certainly a hit! And also Bunalun,where they carried a wide selections of organic produce. Recently i have been looking for supermarket that carry wide organic products as i will be introducing Kynan's to his solids and wish to use organic produce for his puree. Just want to find a stores that i know i can get my constant supply.

At Bunalun, i met one of the owner...a sweet young lady Mindy who's also a passionate organic lovers. Bunalun recently had a changed of management and hence working to bring their prices to revised, Mindy also shared alot of great tips with me about baby organic foods.
