Better Late Than Never!

A quick card from me today.

I made this for my Godfather. August 5th has crept up very quickly and unfortunately it will arrive with him late.
I'm not overly happy with how it's turned out but I'm sure he'll appreciate the enclosed pipe tobacco more.
It's such a shame how I've seen him go from a very active man to one that has now sat in the same chair for over a year and gets up only to go to the bathroom or to go to bed.
Needing a knee replacement they found a heart condition on his pre-op and therefore wouldn't operate. His only vice from then on was to sit and watch tv or read the paper - he now has cataracts on both eyes and is too scared to have the simple surgery to have them removed. The curtains are kept closed as he is now too scraed of the outside world having not left the house for so long.

How a life can suddenly change - live for today!!!

Hidden Depths

Have you seen the challenge on the Counterfeit Kit Blog today?
Wanna know what it is?
Let me help...

Challenge #1:  Geocaching Challenge
Geocaching is a treasure hunt where you get clues/coordinates to find something hidden and for this challenge...make something on your project "hidden"...don't forget to show us what it is!

I was a little worried about this at first but whilst creating a page for a different challenge, it just happened - although I now have to think of something for the other challenge!

These photos were taken on my birthday in the garden. After a couple of drinks, I gave my phone to DD and asked her to take A photo. About 50 later and some very silly poses, I finally managed to retrieve my phone from her mits.
My journalling is inside the creased the zigzag paper which then tucks under the photo to hold it in place.
(Nothing special unless you hate your handwriting as much as I do)

What will you hide on your page?
I've another (better) one to share for the CKCB
blog hop on the 24th of the month.
Will you put your name down and join us to showcase your hidden depths?

Let's Rock

My 3rd week as a Rockette finds me preparing to undertake my first festival.
More on that next Friday :)

Something that literally rocked my world this week was the addition of...

...to my world.
I have wanted to try sax (yes, sax) for years but never had the guts, so another impulse buy later, and the rockin' starts!!!
I can just about play Ode To Joy after a week!

Had a lovely day in Shrewsbury with my girl, shopping, chatting and eating (too much!) - it amazes me how grown up she is - is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I've had more physio on my neck which seems to be doing the trick so less painkillers to rattle around in my body.
I continue to lose weight steadily but with only a week to go until my holiday and putting it all back on again I wonder whether to just give up now?

It seems the assault case could be moving forward at last but I don't want to say too much or build my hopes until I have some more solid news.

I've had a massive wardrobe sort out and finally parted with those clothes I just know I will never wear again. I love a good declutter!

DH's shift has changed which means he only has to work two nights next week instead of four - he now has more time to help me prepare for holidays!

What has rocked you this week, fancy sharing?

Punky Host

This month I am the "host" over at

Punky Scraps

Join in with our challenge from August 10th,
link up your project by September 15th and you could win a little prize from "yours truly".

This is My Moment!

OK, so I know I did a digital version of this photo a couple of weeks ago for the word "story"
but, as it also fit perfectly with today's Use Your Words reveal
"MOMENT"
I just had to scrap it again.
I don't do many digis and when I do, they just stay on my computer's hard drive and never make it into an album hence wanting to scrap it again.

Will you join us and scrap a "moment".
Don't forget to link up to be in with a chance of being our guest designer next time...

CKCB August Reveal

I'm so excited about our August Kit Reveal today as it's one of the nicest I've seen and with lots of things to forge I have been a very busy girl :)

The "Confidence Kit" from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out is quite large this month and comes with this quote to get us going...

"Be strong, be you, be true! CONFIDENCE will help you explore the things that hold you back from creating the life you dream of, and help you express your inner warrior."

Just look at the contents of this kit...

Isn't it great? Does it give you confidence to play along with us this month???

As you probably already know, Heidi is our Guest Designer this month and I'm sure you will already have been over-inspired on your hop to me today. How was Julene?

Now, can I inspire you some more?

First, the easy part of grabbing my plain cardstock
(Vanilla Caramel Bayou Crawfish Oregano)

and then the slightly more difficult task of the patterned papers...
I've had this little lot for a while now and get them out to woo over every now and again - it's about time I used them!!!

I then shopped my stash to find the the embellishments etc (I'm missing out the spray and will use paints etc as and when required)

and what I didn't have, you guessed it, I forged it!!!

and now I can present "FABULOUS" to you as my August Counterfeit Kit

Did you notice something missing?
Yep, flowers - I'm not a flower person so I'm keeping them out of my kit but I promise to be back on the 8th to share a flower tutorial...

So now I've shown you what I've been up to please pop over to see
Lisa
she always has some great ideas to share
and don't forget to share your kit with Mr Linky
