9 & 10 July - Batam.
First stop after checking in to hotel (which was awesome, really) was at this place for seafood. We reached there like... At 2pm+ or 3pm+? This place is built on water and I got a little dizzy with its very slight shaking(?) above water. And it isn't that nice of a place unlike in this photo la HAHA. Got houseflies all. The seafood's not bad la but I think I may be too much of a city girl. I very much prefer eating in restaurants in SG without having the need to fan away houseflies hahaha. I do love the view though.
To back up my point about the hotel being awesome, it is 4 star - I Hotel Baloi. The lobby itself was so comfy already. Maybe thanks to the aircon that is really a life saviour in the relentless hot sun. Totally melted on the lobby sofa the moment we stepped in.
Took the above pic off the I Hotel Baloi website. Our room looks EXACTLY like this. I wonder if all rooms have the same picture hung up hmm... And our room overlooks the pool, which was really a pretty nice view in the day. Location is good too, right beside this really huge hawker centre. Something like East Coast Lagoon Food Village (at ECP), except that this is much bigger and really sells a lot more variety, not repetitive.
Ok back to the kelong. With his family. K and his sis were fighting over seafood and omg it was a really long and ridiculous fight. It was funny to watch but when it dragged on a little too long I was just like err ok guys chill man! Hahaha.
I love coconut flesh and juice! Would be even better if it was chilled.
Afterwards we went back to our hotel to nua for awhile before heading to the hawker centre for dinner. Then BCS mall which is right beside the hawker centre for erm. Some walking LOL we literally walked the whole mall without buying anything...? Then back to the hotel to chill YESSS seriously I loved the hotel haha so comfy!! But I guess the company made it even better ^^
Ohai. Next day at breakfast. Daz me looking bloated like a bao.
How the breakfast place looked like! Picture from the website again. This is night view I think, I love the morning ambience a lot more! It's like not so yellow cause of natural sunlight. And the sofas are comfy to sit on. The subtle clinking of the cutleries added nicely to its atmosphere. Oh and actually we were only have suppose to have 6 people for buffet breakfast but there were 7 of us. So I walked in really effortlessly as though I had already been eating in there, just that I came out to use the washroom. Haha! Professional actress.
Afterwards we went to walk around the marketplace and had the most bitter liang teh we've ever had!!! Authentic indeed. Then back to our hotel rooms to nua (best thing after walking for quite awhile in the blistering sun) and off for a short swim/dip in the pool (second best to aircon!).
Wanton mee after a short short dip. I LOVE THE NOODLES!!! Super springy which means chewy I like!!!!!!! Oh and the shop blacked out halfway through eating. How fun.
Time to go home so sad. I know I'm smiling but nopeee.
I'm am really REALLY surprised that mum didn't object to me traveling with them. Maybe cause it was just one night so she was fine with it. It was a good relaxing time with them. Thanks mum!
