So, I saw the date on our last post and realized we were due again...again.

I believe previously I have mentioned we might post bi-annually.  Some may think this means two times a year but look it up, it can also mean every two years!  As always the church has been inspired since day one and they clarify it as semi-annual.

We participated in a 4th of July fun run at the zoo.
Grace is now one year old and "improving" every day.  She would puke more regularly than Old Faithful, and was up a lot at night but now she's finally getting the hang of things us normal, sane people do.  She's a very happy and energetic girl and it's fun to see her personality emerging.  She's on the verge of walking this very instant!

Talk to you "later".

A new post

Life goes on and we occasionally capture a picture:

William and Bryant were happy to poke and prod their new little sister when they first met her.  They will be excellent older brothers.

Even though we have done this three times before, it never ceases to amaze how small these newborns are compared to their behemoth siblings whom we thought were small.  This was Grace when we brought her home from the hospital.

Enjoying one of the last warmer days of fall.

William is in preschool and tolerates it okay.

A sweet moment.  Grace is a blessing to our home.  We love how babies can curl up like this.

Perks of the military

One perk of military life is cool free stuff!  The most recent was a monster truck show.  All the kids loved it!  Dennis snapped a couple of good pics of the truck in action.

Our neighbors and friends.  We are so blessed to have good friends here!

Emma loves these girls!
Our sweet little Bryant
The monster truck Bigfoot
Doing his thing

Doing it some more!

Also Emma's new haircut for those who are interested...
We got it cut early that morning and then she played outside all day so this doesn't do it justice but you get the picture.

On our way to UT we decided to drive through Yellowstone.  We stopped at this lake and took some pictures.  Dennis and I thought it looked almost fake in the pics but those are real mountains you see there not just a backdrop!

This big guy walked right past our car.  A little too close for comfort if you ask me.  The pic was taken from Dennis' window.  This was probably the highlight of our drive through the park.

We sure enjoyed our time in UT.  Our kids keep asking when they will get to see everyone again!  Thanks for the great time!

I guess people like hearing experiences with our children since we don't get to see everyone much.  So a quick story:

As we are leaving the base one day we see a B-52 (really big airplane) coming in to land at the base.

Amber:  "look kids that's the plane that Brother Stucki, Bro. Jensen, and Bro. Dyer all fly"  (all pilots in our neighborhood) they are all pilots!

Will:  They are pilots?

Emma:  When will Daddy be a pilot?

Amber: Daddy won't be a pilot, he's a dentist.  He fixes the pilots teeth.

Emma: Well..that's not as...(long pause)...special.

Dennis thinks he may hang the quote in his office.

A Windy Day

I love walking on a brisk spring day. As a family.

I don't really feel like writing much, but we are alive and well. And happy. the occasion of this walk was to get the mail and see a dead snake down the road. I'll have to show you that picture later...

tepee

Aunt Debbie, Grandma, and Grandpa Ogilvie all came to visit in Jan. While they were here Dennis had them help with a couple of projects. Grandma fixed a couple of Emma's dress ups to make them more modest. Grandpa helped with some wood working stuff and computer stuff. And Aunt Debbie and Dennis made a tepee for us. Thanks to the Ogilvie's perfectionism it turned out pretty much perfect!

We wished they could have stayed longer! After the tepee turning out so well I'm already thinking of what we would have them help with next year! We're hoping it will be an annual event, keeping our fingers crossed!

The hand prints are all from our family.

Stop throwing the baby!

Background: Anybody with young kids who has tried to have a half decent FHE will understand what goes on here. I hate to hang up our dirty laundry for everybody to see but it's typical of us and I'd hazard a guess it's typical of a lot of other families too.

We were attempting to do the nativity scene for a Christmas FHE. Apparently William got into the manger and shattered Emma's perfect vision of how things should go. She threw the baby doll (gasp) down in protest. I was kind of distracted with other things so I just re-wrapped the doll and kept giving it back to her telling her to do her part yada yada. I was not really thinking about the cause of her issues. Meanwhile Amber had the foresight to start a camera, which I didn't know she was going to do.

I'm sure it had been a long day and we were all a little out of sorts...
Let the not so reverent Ogilvie FHE begin: It starts with me saying, "Stop throwing the baby!"

Things eventually worked out for us. Unless this picture was taken before the video... I don't really remember.
