This will not matter a year from now
Time travel.
Do you know that many of us are actually doing that?
Unpleasant things happen to us.
We relive it by travelling back to the time it happened
& refuse to get out of it.
Recently, I got angry at a friend over something.
In the deep recesses of my mind,
I could still feel the hurt, visualise the hate, revise the experiences I had been through.
All the humiliation
Accusations
Hatred
Yet undefended.
I just couldn't bear the memories.
I mulled over it for days.
In the end, I talked it out, & decided to put the hatred behind, & move on.
(Even though I still DO NOT want it to happen ever again)
You can say,
Perhaps it is just me to get over things easily.
No,
I used to cover it up like heaping sand over hidden treasure
But when the wind blows & as time goes, won't it uncover itself again?
We can't erase memories.
But we can avoid focusing on them when they do surface.
Inspired from a great book I've borrowed from the library. (:
Remember, this will not matter a year from now.
Don't time travel...
1.
We ought not to look back unless it is to derive useful lessons from past
errors, and for the purpose of profitting dearly bought experiences.
-George Washington
2.
It is not every calamity that is a curse, and early adversity is often a
blessing. Surmounted difficulties not only teach, but hearten us in our future
struggles.
-James Sharp
Cast all your worries to God. (:
