A Visit with Santa

Secret Angel Family Revealed!

Starting on Sunday evening, we had been getting mysterious deliveries of pieces of a nativity set at our door. They had a note on them with a bible verse and were signed from our "Secret Angel Family". By Thursday, we were completely boggled who this was, so we made a plan to camp out in the office and watch for the next delivery. The kids sat looking out the window for almost 2 hours before they showed up. But through the window screens and in the dark, we still couldn't tell who it was! On Saturday, they came during the day for the last delivery (baby Jesus, of course) and we were so surprised and excited to see our friends from the gym!

Candy Cane Classic

The meet was a problem from the start. First of all we found out our time got scheduled for early on Sunday morning on Kyle's birthday. Nathan woke up early with a sore throat so Kyle ended up taking him to Acute Kids to get tested for strep throat insead of coming to the meet (it was negative). Margaret got off to a good start on floor, but ended up missing her shoot-though on the bars and her beam dismount. But she and the rest of the girls still had a good time and the team ended up winning the second place trophy.

Gingerbread for Humanity

Our church had its 3rd annual "Gingerbread for Humanity" event. Buy a gingerbread house to decorate and take home and the proceeds go to the Habitat for Humanity program. Nathan and I worked on the house while Kyle concentrated its efforts in building Santa's sleigh from broken remnants. Margaret contributed to both projects. We brought along some friends to make it one giant gingerbread party. I got a little messy in the process.
After the event, Margaret and Joshua helped deliver over 50 donated houses to the Samaratin Inn for the families there to decorate and enjoy.

Here are the finished products at home:

Who needs new toys when you have an old videocamera?

I really want to capture this football game on TV. Let me get on my glasses so I can check the settings. Yeah...I think this is the right camera angle...for the ceiling fanNow I will give Margaret a chance to be director and I will be the star!

Reprieve from chores
