oddball turns 18 today!
- which means that i'm now a little older than i was before
- which means that i should start acting my age
- which means that i should stop forgetting to bring my house keys
anyway, lucky me. i had bio SPA skill A today. thankfully, it went alright (at least i hope it went alright..). i was in a dilemna yesterday night because my class and the bizclub exco were both planning to go out today. but surprise surprise! neither went out today. which is why i am spending my birthday at home, posting on my blog and feeling a bit sick from the monster waffle my classmates treated me to at gelare. (waffles at half-price on tuesdays!!)
monster waffle= big waffle + 4 scoops of ice cream
(jamaican chocolate, chocolate chip, cookies & cream and so apple pie thingy)
thanx to them, i won't be patronising gelare for at least half a year.
no more waffles. thanx. half-price or not.
:d
and thank you so much to everyone who remembered. THANK YOU!
right.. i've been thinking. so what does being 18 mean?
it means that i can take my driving theory test, watch m18 movies, legally buy alcohol and go clubbing (which lubin says that i won't do anyway.. which is true actually.) and it means that i'll be taking my
A levels this year.
great! happy 18th brithday to oddball.
haha. i'm 18.. hmm..says oddball

went out with my ocip group members today. sadly, chinghui couldn't make it. she seems really tired these days, hope she's alright. i guess it must be the trainings, it's really scary the way the kayakers train.
yup. it's really rare that we actually get to meet up these days, considering that everyone's so busy with tests, SPA, SYF, training and stuff. we had dinner at pastamania and went to macdonalds where we sat talking till 10+. hey people. thanx for today.
on a really random note. sometimes i think i analyse too hard about things. oh well. haah.
cheers.

had a little outing with xinhui, joyce and amy on thursday night. amy is nuts about the pineapple rice from thai express. oh yes. thai express had a change of menu..

amy: haha. she turned up in dress and heels.. which is so her. oh! hah! and a bag full of her trusty lecture notes. after dinner, she whipped out her best friend -- GC (graphing calculator.. for all those out there who haven't gotten acquainted with theirs) to calculate the cost of the dinner :D which attracted quite a few stares...
joyce: this must be the first time i've seen her in more than a year! i told her that she probably wouldn't be able to recognise me considering that my teachers were commenting that i've changed a lot since the last time they saw me during my cny visit. BUT but but!!! she was the one who spotted me first. she changed so much that i had a little surprise when i saw her. it's good though. she looks so much better than before, and much happier too. i think njc did her good. feel somewhat happy for her. she gave me a letter she wrote me last year which was so touching. *sigh*
xinhui: haha. i think i see her so often that there isn't much to talk about but she really is my best buddy. thanx for the present! and for being there all the time. you're the best! don't know what i'll do without her. *hugs*
random note: yayyy! new bizroom! hip hip hurray!says oddball

sometimes things happen to me that really creep me out.
the worst thing is that you can't tell anyone about it.
i scare myself sometimes.

ok. no mopping or feeling upset. we must all learn to appreciate what we have in life. yep. i'm happy and as long as i'm happy. nothing can get me down. feeling a little (just a little) disappointed with myself though. haha. i'm going to keep practising though.. i just want to prove to myself that i'm not that lousy. yesh. "oddball! jia you!"So Good to me -- Darrel EvansO God You've been so good to me You came and found this orphan And You brought me right into Your family O God You've been so good to me You threw away my past And You never count my sins against me
CHORUS:
You got me dancing And now I'm shouting You got me leaping And now I'm spinning Hallelujah
BRIDGE:
You're so good to me Nah nah nah nah You're so good to me Nah nah nah nah You're so good to me O God You've been so good to me And every day I wake up I breath another breath of Your mercy O God You've been so good to me And my delight is in You 'Cause I know that Your hand is upon me Jesus You're the one Who saved myself from me So I will be the one To praise You in the streets
ahah.. sometimes it takes a good song like this to remind us of how blessed we are..
"And every day I wake up I breath another breath of Your mercy." How true.. :D

it's been ages since my last post. about a month in fact.
i've lost a friend 2 days ago, on the 27th of february. not a really really close friend, but a friend nonetheless.
she was a great sectional leader, a superb harmonica soloist and definitely a really good friend. she was a person with a big heart, reaching out to the less fortunate in the community through volunteering with a childrens' home. i have always had great respect for this somewhat quiet but sincere soul.
although she has left us so suddenly, she has left behind something very precious - friendship, inspiration and a lesson for all of us who continue to trudge along the road she has left far behind.
it's true that we will never really know if we'll live to see tomorrow. therefore i thank God for every morning that i see. our time will be up someday. we don't know when. it might be tomorrow, next year or 80 years down the road. but at the end of the day, if we can tell ourselves that we can die with no regrets, then it has been a life well-lived.
to the one and only "sologirl" i will ever know.
goodbye. we'll miss you dearly. and thank you.
