Happy national day to all singaporeans!
Hope everyone enjoyed their public holiday! Sadly, Australia don't really recognise Singapore's National Day as a public holiday so I did not even realised it was the 9th of August until a friend asked me the date during lecture.
The internet connection here is beyond crap-like. The streaming of NDP was like watching a power point slideshow, in s.l.o.w motion. It was like.. 1 frame per 120 seconds? I did get seamless streaming of sound though. So yay, go 1kbps internet connection.
So this being national day and me being so patriotic (go ahead and laugh, you guys), I shall end this entry with the Singapore pledge, the SAF Pledge, and Officer's Creed:
Singapore Pledge
================
We, the citizens of Singapore,
pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
to build a democratic society
based on justice and equality
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and
progress for our nation.
SAF Pledge
==========
We, Members of the Singapore Armed Forces, do solemnly and sincerely pledge that: We will always bear true faith and allegiance to the President and the Republic of Singapore. We will always support and defend the Constitution. We will preserve and protect the honour and independence of our country with our lives.
The Officer's Creed
===================
I am an Officer of the Singapore Armed Forces.
My duty is to lead, to excel, and to overcome.
I lead my men by example.
I answer for their training, morale, and discipline.
I must excel in everything I do.
I serve with pride, honor, and integrity.
I will overcome adversities with courage, fortitude, and determination.
I dedicate my life to Singapore.
Happy 42nd National Day Singapore!

2nd day, of sorts..
2nd day was again, breath steaming-ly cold. The moment the door leading to the outside was opened, your breath, erm, stam? steamed? Ah 'steamed' is the right word.
Went to school for enrolment and got my matriculation card in the process. MUCH MUCH better looking than the joke of a matric card issued by TP. UoM looks like a 'Harry Potter' school, by the way. It has those renaissance type of buildings all over the place.
Anyways, today we moved into our actual room, Room 1212. Go buy 4D, win some cash bank into my ANZ Bank account number 62354892738. Thanks in advance. The room was a good deal bigger, but it lacked a certain smth.........
FORKS!
SPOONS!
PLATES!
BOWLS!
BREAD TOASTER!
KETTLE!
FRYING PAN!
TRASH BIN!
ZOMG!
So off we go to the supermarket, and we spent a total of 82 buxs on the above items. Another 41 buxs gone. zz.
To reward ourselves for finding a $9 toaster, $9 kettle, we went to a korean restaurant which was just beside (and I do mean beside). Which serves amazing korean food at affordable prices!
Went to the meat market/flea market and let me tell you, the place is fantastic! When I get the SD card working, I'll go take some pictures to post. Tried the american dough nuts too. YUMMY! It's handmade with raspberry fillings. Taste of heaven, right there.
After that, we went back for some table tennis at UCA's lounge.
So that's pretty much my day.

Melbourne, first look.
Hey all, greetings from down under! Arrived this morning in Melbourne at 0610 on SQ227. Had trouble leaving Singapore behind..
Waiting for baggage took the better part of an hour and it was about 7 almost 8am when I left the airport. The weather out there was freezing!!!!!!! It was 3 degrees and I was half expecting to see snow. The air conditioner in the air port was actually much much much much warmer than the air outside!
Things here are expensive and the cheapest meal you can probably find here is Subway's sub of the day which was AUD$3.50 for a 6-inch sandwich.
Camera is spoilt so pictures are not available at the moment.. WIll be posting more updates soon. I think.
Until then!

Hi again!
Hey all! It's been awhile hasn't it? If things goes according to plan, I'd most probably be leaving Singapore for Melbourne within the next couple of weeks for my degree at University of Melbourne. So I thought I would revive this blog to keep everyone updated on what has been going on and hopefully re-establish contact with some of you guys out there.
However due to the nature of my work, I will try my best to refrain from putting down my own name or work related stuff. Reason for not mentioning about work is obvious. Reason for me not putting my name down is because you'll never know who is googling for your name, trying to learn more about you. Imagine your employer googling your name while he's waiting for that document to be printed, and lo and behold! What does he stumble upon? Yes! Your blog with the latest post dis-sing him! But if you are here reading this, then I guess you'd probably know who I am or a little of what I do.
So far, life has been pretty good. Just left the place I have been for the past 9 months, went through tons of interview and thankfully got myself a chance to go abroad for studies.
Getting the chance to leave for studies is awesome, but I've got mixed feelings about it. I can't bear to leave everything behind but when opportunity knocks, I have to answer the door. It'll be an experience worth having I guess.
Oh yea, the fact that I can get myself a new laptop that is being subsidised doesn't hurt too ;)
Alright, you guys take good care and I'll see you all when I do, IRL or here, depending on what the lady named Fate decides.
Welcome back everyone :)!
