Ginger...bread

 Candy covered table
Bell tower roof with sliced almonds put on individually
Rock church..rocks had to be placed with tweezers
Vicar's house complete with Christmas lights

Finished creation with trees, skating pond, sleds and a bell in the bell tower!
Katie, Megan and Lauren collaborated on a gingerbread church and vicar's house. They really turned out quite charming. Katie went to the work of making and baking the gingerbread. In fact, she made the pattern for the church including the bell tower. It was quite a charming scene. At the end of the evening, they let the children eat the gingerbread church. Wow were there excited faces!

Megan with Trevor on the swinging bridge over the San Juan river.
Megan met me in the hospital parking lot for her birthday in 2009 so I could see her while Ray was in surgery.
 And she is still smiling!
Katie holding Megan when she was 2 weeks old.
Megan held by Grandma Scott at 2 weeks...already smiling.
Megan with her siblings Christmas 1992.
Eating breakfast at Grandma Scott's with her "pubba"  within reach.
Our first family picture with Megan. I do not think she liked her hands being held down!
Having fun with Katie and Nathan.

She still does not like her hands held down or is it the matching dresses she is not happy about?
 I love this picture---sheer happiness!
Always the one with the big smile.

Can you believe her mother thought these matching dresses were cute?
 5th grade school picture...what a beauty!

Harvest...lol

Our garden this year started out with high hopes...peas, beans, lettuce, radishes, beets, cauliflower, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow crook neck summer squash, butternut and acorn squash (winter varieties) and two pumpkin seeds from Pam for the pumpkin growing contest. Excited was I to eat out of the garden this summer...no peas, no beans, no lettuce, no radishes, 3 beets, no cauliflower, a few cucumbers, lots and lots of grape tomatoes, but the slicing tomatoes have not ripened yet! There are lots on the vine but we have already had a freeze :( . Some zucchini and crook neck, but not enough to fill the freezer. Winter squash was the best performer! One plant of each yielded 18 butternut squash and 34 acorn squash!!! Those two heirloom pumpkin seeds produced two LARGE pumpkins. I would say the top one weighs around 25 to 30 pounds and the bottom one, my pride and joy, could weigh up to 50 pounds. We definitely will not win the pumpkin growing contest, but I have never grown pumpkins this large! I am saving the seeds and will be happy to share. :)

A Little Peak at Our Little Ones

We went to the "purple" park where Anderson "drove" around and Josie climbed a mountain.

Josie loves her brother and he loves her. She has such a winning smile and sweet disposition.

Anderson loves his grandpa and grandpa loves Anderson!

A jump in the leaves on the way to school.
Finally she agreed to pose for me in front of her school. She is so pretty. I love these two so much!

Miracle Megan and Mom

We have a new word for Megan's MM initials-- Miracle Megan! Read below:

Saddle Embolus : A large thrombus lodged at an arterial bifurcation, where blood flows from a large-bore vessel to a smaller one. The ‘classic’ saddle embolus—which occurs at the bifurcation of the pulmonary arteries in fatal pulmonary embolism secondary to a centrally migrating venous embolus—is distinctly uncommon.

I feel especially humbled to be her mother and to hear her call me "mom." I feel so very thankful that I can still hear her say, "I love you Mommy," to hold her hand and to hug her. I am so very thankful that she is still here with us. She truly is a miracle!!!!

Lucky Grandma

Josie and Anderson were still awake when I arrived Tuesday night. Lucky me, Mommy and Daddy had kept them up!

Josie is always in perpetual motion!

Josie, Anderson and I have walked and walked and walked! Yesterday I had the opportunity to volunteer in her classroom. What a fun experience. She has a super good teacher who has awesome classroom management skills and LOVES the kids. This morning we went to the park as you can see from above. I am having a LOT of fun!
