Carter's Walk-Off Home Run Game Winner!

Carter's first baseball game was on Friday.  His games are supposed to be on Monday's and Wednesday's, but Monday's game was rained out and they didn't play Wednesday so they made their first game up on Friday.

Carter's team was up the majority of the game, but in the last inning the opposing team was up to bat first and tied it up.  When Carter's team got up to bat the first batter struck out.  The second hit and got on base.  Then Carter was up.  Carter was cranking his hits far into the outfield.  Guess your time at the cages is paying off with him Babe.  :)  He hit a homer and brought the other boy and him in to win the game!  Papa said it was a sight to see!  The kids all ran up to Carter and did chest bumps and cheered and celebrated!  Carter called to tell Troy about it shortly after it happened.  Of course Troy couldn't answer during Les Mis so he text my dad to see if the call was an emergency and my dad text that info back.  Troy raced out of there so fast to call Carter back at intermission.  :)  What a proud Dad!  Carter's coach also text Troy to let him know.  Too cute!!

Dad and I are so sad we missed it Carts, but also so happy Papa was there to see it since baseball is his sport!  Thanks so much for taking him Dad!  We are so happy for you and so proud of you Carts!!  Now you need to do that again at another game this season so Dad and I can see it and experience it with you!  No pressure...  lol!

Benihana's & Les Mis

Troy and I went to Benihana's and Les Mis on Friday night.  Two date nights in two weeks?!  We're on a roll!  :)

We enjoyed some relaxing one-on-one time at dinner.  I'd never been to Benihana's before and I loved it!  Especially when I found out ice cream came with the meal.  :)  Great choice for dinner Babe!

Troy's parents got all the kids Les Mis tickets for Christmas.  It's Troy's favorite musical and I'd never seen it so we were really excited!  I absolutely loved that too!  What a great and spiritual storyline.  It was really touching and I was proud of myself for being able to hold it together and only get teary eyed through it.  That took some restraint.  :)  Now we want to see Wicked and Phantom when they come to town.

Here's the gang (minus Jeff and Holly) who arrived after we got seated.  I cropped it because I seriously look prego in the picture.  Bad angle, shirt, too much dinner, something!  Talk about the motivation I needed to get off my butt and stay active!

And Bev took a picture of Troy and me in the theatre.

Thanks so much for the tickets Bev & Steve!!  We had an amazing night!  It was so fun to get dressed up (Troy's so handsome when he's all decked out) and do something different.  And we loved that everyone went together.  It's nice to have some time with just the adults occasionally so we have more time to talk and enjoy one another's company and not chase kids around (though we miss them).  Thanks for taking the boys Dad and Kim!  They had a great time!

Looks like I'm planning our next date night in June!  It probably won't be as exciting as the Alaskin Inn we were able to get a good deal on through KSL deals or our Benihana/Les Mis date courtesy of Troy's parents but I'm on the prowl for something fun and different.  If you have any ideas please let me know!  :)

Date Night!

Troy and I went to eat at the Oaks by the river on Friday night. It was so pretty and relaxing. This was our view looking up into the mountains. The moon was so pretty in the sky.

We stayed at the Alaskan Inn for a much needed get-away. This was what it looked like out back just a little ways out from our window.

And I actually did remember to take a picture of us this date. We were just using my phone and neither of us are very good with it. This was about the 10th try to get us both in the picture looking half way decent with our allergies from being in the mountains by the river the night before and that morning and with the sun shining in our faces. lol! Troy really was smiling in some of the earlier ones that my face was in the very bottom corner of. :)

Thanks for such a fun relaxing night Babe!! And thanks for taking the boys for us Grandma and Grandpa Nye!!  It's so good to go out and reconnect as Troy and Brandy and not just Mom and Dad all the time. Every time we do I swear we need to do it more often. This date night every 6 months or so just doesn't cut it. Time just gets away from us and before we know it another half a year has gone by. I'm sure many of you can relate. :) Anyhow, we're going to try and go out once a month and take turns planning it. Even if it's just going out for a movie, an ice cream, whatever. June is Troy's month!!

Tre's First Season of Soccer Comes to an End

Tre absolutely loved his first season of soccer! He's been looking forward to it for so long (hence the sneaking him in at 3 1/2) instead of 4 or 5. :)

Here are some pictures from his last couple games. He and his friend Sawyer were having a good 'ole time at the Tuesday night game. They were seriously in their own little world. Love these next few pictures. lol!!

Tre scored his first goal Tuesday night on Troy's birthday! Troy told him that was the best birthday present ever. You can't see it very well since there was some bunch ball going on but at least you can get the idea. The pictures of Troy and Tre after are so adorable they make me laugh and cry at the same time.

I love the look of disbelief on his face.

Here's where he's running up to Troy.

Tre and Brinley were too cute having their own little conversation on the bench too. I love this pic in black and white.

Great season Green Rattlesnakes! Great job Tre!! We loved watching you play and we're so glad you had fun! You did SO good!! We love you Mr. Soccer Player!!

West Point Football Camp 2011

The West Point Football Camp for the 2011 season was last week. The first night the youth received instruction from the same football players from the U and the NFL that trained them in the West Point speed camp earlier this spring. They were also weighed in so they could get a good idea on how many teams they'll have for each age group this year. The second night they received instruction from BYU football players and Brian Kehl (former BYU football player) that currently plays for the Rams and has helped with this camp since his rookie year with the Giants (go Giants!!) several years ago. The last night the instruction was handed over to the coaches to get a better feel for the athletes.

I only took pictures for about a half hour the 2nd day since Tre had soccer games the other two days. It was nice to have the overlapping schedules at the same park last week I have to admit!!

It was funny to see Kaedan and Jeff going stride for stride in these next pictures.

Love the look on Carter's face in this one!

Kaedan was a defender on this drill...
Nice Kaed!! Did you remember you weren't wearing pads yet this season? lol!

This dude was getting a kick out of Carter. Carter just seems to captivate everyone no matter where he goes.

The whole gang!
And Kelly (West Point's athletic director) with the BYU players and Brian Kehl.
Carter getting Brian Kehl's autograph and another picture with him.

Kaedan getting some autographs...
This is the dude that just loved Carter.
Tre wanted to show off his sand castle before we left. Beautiful Tre!!
Kaedan and some friends from camp (Josh and Andre).
I can't believe football plans are already in the works. Troy and I saw this plate at J&J this weekend that said 'we interrupt this marriage to bring you football season'. Isn't that the truth?!! We laughed so hard!

Happy 34th Birthday Troy!

Troy turned the BIG 3-4 on May 10th! The boys thought this birthday of his was extra special because his basketball number in high school was 34. :) The day was a bit crazy with it being a weekday and having football camp and a soccer game after work, but we had pizza for dinner (Troy's favorite) and settled down and watched a movie together downstairs (also his favorite).

Troy woke up to this cute picture on our door that Carter drew for him.

One thing you gotta love about being a parent is that you never have to (or get to~ lol) blow out your birthday candles on your own.

Tre was so excited to help and we thought him sitting behind the 3-4 on the cake was pretty funny!

We hope you had a great birthday Troy! We love you so much and appreciate all you do for us! You are such a hard worker and so kind and loving with your family! We couldn't ask for a better husband or dad!!

Gym Rats Final Spring Session Basketball Game

Carter's last basketball game of the spring session was Monday night. Carter's shot has really improved this session. It's been fun watching him learn and grow. Way to go Carts! Troy loves coaching those boys and we're looking forward to their 3 on 3 tournaments this summer.

Go Gym Rats!
